Nashville’s celebration of America’s 250th birthday broke records with... the largest Fireworks and Drone Show in the city’s history. 1,000 drones lit up the sky at a height of 600 feet, accompanied by a live performance of the Nashville Symphony. Music City’s fireworks display featured 12-inch shells for the first time—the largest ever launched in the city. They’re 3x larger in volume and weight than the 8-inch shells used in previous years, and weigh ~20 pounds each. The shells reach ~1,200 feet in the air before bursting into a display spanning ~1,000 feet across. 8 pyrotechnicians were staged in a steel bunker located in the middle of the show firing the shells in order to synchronize them to the Nashville Symphony performance. 40,000 pounds of explosives and 200 miles of wire were used in the show, per The Tennessee Tribune, with the show’s 2-minute finale ranking among the most powerful in the country.show more

On AEW Grand Slam Australia: Yes, the merch stand... was poorly planned out like last year. Yes, there were empty seats and some fans apparently were moved. Yes, a perhaps unwise choice was made with the booking of the first AEW match on the card IMO. But I'll say this, and you can't feel this through a phone screen, but it was such a fun atmosphere and a fun show for the most part. And my cousin (15), whose first ever live show this was, keeps talking about how cool certain spots and moments were (particularly the ladder match and crowd fighting). They made a fan out of him last night, and I just think that's pretty cool. Sure, it won't move the needle, but we were all that kid falling in love with pro-wrestling once upon a time. It's nice to see the tradition continue. So yeah, it was well done show on an emotional level, and on a wrestling level, if not entirely on a logistical level.show more

I met Anee Icha at the audition for Castle... and castle many years ago. Then we worked on the show where she played the crazy receptionist. While directing her, I realized she had great comedic timing and fantastic improv skill. So I told her, one day I’m going to write a crazy story about a very clumsy girl and you will star in it. Somehow we lost touch and I completely forgot. It didn’t happen till three years later when she ran into me at a supermarket. She reminded me that we still hadn’t made this our movie. Coincidentally I was looking for a story that will make us build an extensive set design and VFX just to show off the skills of my Anthill Studios team. That night, the idea for Casa de Novia came to me. I called up my trusted writer Weaver of stories and showed her clips of Anee and we wrote the film for her. I’m glad Anee is getting all the praises and I want to see her do more films like this. Clumsy girl comedy is a big hit potential and we need more crazy ideas in Nollywood.show more

Video appears to show Boosie BadAzz standing around after... a security guard is allegedly hit with a glass hookah. On Monday (June 1), after news broke that the Louisiana rapper was charged with aggravated assault in connection with the May 24 incident, alleged footage surfaced from the night in question. In the clip, a group of people is standing around in a club when an object comes flying into frame and smashes over someone's head. A heavy-set man then throws another item at the victim, while a man believed to be Boosie stands in the background and watches. Boosie released a video on Monday afternoon proclaiming his innocence and calling the situation a money grab. XXL has reached out to Boosie's attorney for comment.show more

It's 2030 and you are reviewing humanoid robots. A... Tesla. A Google. An Apple. An OpenAI. A Meta. A Figure. And a bunch of Chinese-made ones. Which one is best, and why? I think the Tesla understands the world much better. Why? There were eight Teslas around me on the freeway today. Start there. No other robot company has that data. But my robot is parked at the local high school twice a day. Its cameras see humans in all of our weirdness. How we move. Where we go. Where we walk. Who we talk with. What you are wearing. Whether your hair was combed this morning. That data will lead to robotics breakthroughs. Apple might keep up with its Vision Pro data, but it is too freaked out by the privacy implications of using said data. (On the front are six cameras and a couple of TOF -- Time Of Flight -- sensors that can see everything in your home in great detail). Google has a lot of data, for sure. All my: 1. Email. 2. Calendars. 3. Photos. 4. TV watching behavior. 5. Contacts. 6. Documents and spreadsheets. 7. Files. 8. Location data. So I expect Google's robot will be attractive to many. But how do you see the others shake out over the next five years? Make some guesses. But remember what an AI pioneer told me years ago about AI: it's all about the data. The Chinese ones have huge advantages: the Chinese have more data on their citizens, and many more citizens to boot AND they can make robots cheaper than we can. But now that you know OpenAI is building its own robot you have caught wind of what I've heard from many in San Francisco and Silicon Valley: that humanoid robots are the real prize of AI and will be highly profitable for those that can make them and find customers willing to buy them. I’m heartbroken. I don’t have many words other than... to say I’m truly devastated and deeply sorry to everyone who showed up to the main stage, and to those watching the livestream at home. Having the opportunity to perform the new ÆDEN show and share all the new music and art means more to me than I can express. It’s incredibly painful, especially after working day and night for the past year, not just me, but my team and the Coachella crew, who poured everything into this. Safety was and always will be our biggest concern. The dangerous winds not only prevented us and Coachella from building our stage, but also made it impossible for my entire live setup and performance to operate safely. Unfortunately, there are no other slots available for me to perform the ÆDEN show this weekend. our concert on Apple Music Live is officially out.... i have not toured since my first album. even though i feel like the stage is my second home, i always felt like more of a studio hermit and like i needed to be off the road to become me 🙋🏻‍♀️ when we made C, XOXO, i knew i had to tour this body of work. these songs, these lyrics, these drums, this ENERGY - was MADE to be experienced live. it’s a world of women with bark and bite, of a Miami Spring Breakers fantasy, of BMX bikers, of bravado, of friendship 💘, of an eternal Miami, Dade County summer. 💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘 what premiered last night is the first show we ever did in Lisbon, Portugal and it was the first time I’d been on stage in a couple years. We were all so nervous but we left it all out there. not once did these shows ever feel like work. if anything going onstage felt like going to a party and blowing off steam no matter what was going on. i am so grateful to every single person who made this show happen. every character on stage - from every single one of the XOXOGIRLS who form such a crucial part of this energy, to our BMX boys, to our robot dogs, to everyone behind the scenes who poured their creativity, work ethic, and talent to make the show of my dreams. thank you Apple Music for sharing it with everyone who couldn’t be there this summer for our mini festival run. and like i said, i can’t not tour C, XOXO. so…. see the rest of you soon ;)show more
