Just learned for the first time that Blender can... actually have negative physics cache! This is immensely helpful for each scene having normal physics from the start instead of starting from frame 1 and slowly turning the physics on from a set up bone position.show more

From another unfinished scene. I think this was the... first time I used the RBC physics addon? I liked the idea that the vehicles could have a tight ceiling clearance.show more

Elon Musk: We've designed Optimus from physics first principles.... “We could not actually buy the actuators for any amount of money. They simply didn't exist. Even though there are 10,000-20,000 electric motors out there of various sizes and shapes, we've had to design every electric motor, gearbox and the controlling electronics from scratch, basically from physics first principles.” Interview at the All-In Summit, September 10, 2025show more

30-second one-takes. Physics that actually holds up. Camera moves... that feel intentional. Characters that stay consistent from start to finish. This is the first AI video demo in a while that made me replay scenes just to see how it pulled them off. Seedance 2.5 is coming soon on Higgsfield, and it's looking like a huge leap for cinematic AI video.show more

Tonight at the house: An intimate AI x Physics... Dinner with Prof. Steve Hsu from Manifold steve hsu, Alex Morisse, Alex Morisse, PhD, Jasper Jasper, and Jeremy Nixon - Automating AI Research. We started off with Alex casually explaining the science behind his stealth deeptech start-up on physics textbooks. A thread on the important questions in AI X physics.🧵show more

#UnityTips How to simulate RC cars in Unity? With... the default settings, at 10 m/s (36 km/h), each physics step moves the car 20 cm, which is a huge distance for an RC car. The solution is to increase the physics rate according to the scale of the simulated car. For example, a 1:10 scale RC car requires a 10x higher physics rate to be simulated with the same spatial resolution as a standard-sized car. In Unity, this means reducing Project Settings > Time > Fixed Timestep from 0.02 (50 Hz, default) to 0.002 (500 Hz). We released physics-intern: a simple harness for science problems!... It gets models like Gemini 3.1 Pro to go from 17.7 -> 31.4, thus beating GPT 5.5 Pro. The physics-intern harness can wrap any model and via dedicated subagent boost the performance of the vanilla reasoning models. While I think more and more of these harness capability gains will be absorbed into the models (like prompting tricks disappeared over time) there is a lot to be gained right now by building good scaffolds for those models and integrating tools well. Interestingly, the exception we found that GPT 5.5 Pro actually didn't benefit from the physics-intern harness! Read more about it here: PS: I think the Harness[Model] notation is kind of nice.show more

Came up with a real simple way to make... these flasks look like they have liquid! 💦 1. Model glass & invert the normals 2. Model the liquid 3. Rig the liquid with a bone facing up 4. in engine apply "jiggle physics" with negative gravity #gamedev #unity #blender #animation #b3dshow more

So this was my problem: Keeping the physics running... while on the inventory menu (game is paused). Paused game means paused physics. No jiggling. UNLESS... I find out that you can create a separate PhysicsScene on the fly for the avatar. #gamedev #indiedev #madewithunity #RPGshow more

For years Yann LeCun has argued that generative video... models can't truly learn physics. DeepMind's Physics-IQ benchmark proved him right, reporting "a striking lack of physical understanding in current generative video models". The best one scored just 29.5%. This CVPR 2026 paper finds the fix in LeCun's own playbook. "Inference-time Physics Alignment" doesn't retrain the generator. It steers a video model's denoising at inference using a reward from VJEPA-2, LeCun's Joint Embedding Predictive Architecture. - Won first place in the ICCV 2025 PhysicsIQ Challenge with a 62.64% score, beating the previous state of the art by 7.42%. - Repurpose VJEPA-2's "surprise" score as a reward, then search and rank multiple candidate denoising trajectories at test time. - Why it matters: It's a neat vindication of LeCun's thesis. The pixel-prediction generator alone doesn't get physics, but the JEPA world model approach he champions supplies the physics the video model lacks.show more
