completely moved the website for Screen Charm from framer... to next.js and vercel. it took me two days to do it, including migrating the blog and free tools. it will open the gate to move much faster when improving conversion and adding free tools. hosting websites on no-code builders nowadays is becoming obsolete. everything can be done with ai. it’s only worth using them if you’ve never touched html or css in your life.show more

Despite the Framer hype, we still get tons of... requests for custom Next.js + Tailwind sites. Because most founders and their teams don't want to learn another tool. They want to own their code, not rent it. Just shipped a landing page in Next.js for a SaaS. Their reasoning: - Full control over performance optimization - No vendor lock-in - Developers can maintain it without learning Framer - Custom functionality without workarounds - Better SEO control Sure, Framer is faster to build. But he no-code movement sold everyone on "anyone can build websites now" and forgot that someone still needs to maintain them. Simplicity is at the heart of great software. This... is one of the reasons why Claude Code has been sticky for me. As a builder, I love planning and brainstorming, and this is now a key focus of Claude Code. I use Shift + Tab a lot to cycle between brainstorming, planning, and execution. This functionality provides the appropriate interface for me to either be very involved or less involved as I please. This works particularly well when building out new and complex features or entire new projects. This saves a huge amount of time. It allows me to tune Claude Code to execute and build more effectively. It also builds a loop of trust, and I often (surprisingly) find Claude Code asking for clarifications when it's confused. Coding agents don't normally do that. I have shared before on the power of brainstorming with AI for longer times. Try it and you will not be disappointed. Vibe coding is fun, but pair it with intentional development cycles, and you watch how far you can take a project with coding agents today.show more

I AM LIVID. Let me tell you what just... happened. Last week I set up my AI agent. First thing I did: review my website security. What it found made my blood BOILLLL. Over 50 invisible links to gambling websites were BURIED in the source code of …..they were hidden from anyone visiting the site BUT fully visible to Google. Pointing to casinos like Pin-Up, Mostbet, 1Win, and Parimatch…. I didn’t know it was a thing until I found out it’s actually called SEO spam injection. Hackers break into your website and hide their casino links in your code. Google crawls your site and thinks YOU are vouching for their sketchy gambling platforms. It tanks your SEO and boosts theirs…ALL while you have absolutely no idea it's happening, you think your website sucks, and people don’t even bother to look at it. To the gambling sites tanking my SEO: I don't care what you do with your life. But hijacking small businesses to do it? That's just pathetic. It’s low. And it’s plain sad. The wild part: I never would have caught this without my AI agent. Shoutout to Clawbot for literally saving my website. AI out here protecting businesses while we sleep. After 3 incredible years and 1.6M students later, my... journey at ALX Africa has come to an end. It has been a life-changing experience, during which I made a lot of friends, worked with an incredibly dedicated team, and met so many talented students. A few numbers. We scaled from a few thousand students to 1.6M students on our platform. Students loved it and many of them took more than one course: 4M total! For the famous #ALX_SE Software engineering program, our SE students made an average of 2,000 commits and our checker reviewed 180M of their projects. That’s 2B lines of code… and that was before Claude Code. They actually wrote these themselves (unless Kimba said otherwise :) A big thank you to all my SE team mates, I am so proud of what we have accomplished, and I will really miss you all. Thank you to Fred for the trust he put in me and always supporting my crazy new and disruptive ideas. Thank you to my students. It was an honor to work with you, watch you struggle but relentlessly move forward, no matter what, until you got this job. To those who are still struggling finding this job, keep pushing forward.
