#LEC Commissioner Artem Bykov on the Jojopyun 🇨🇦 situation... and how feedback from fans, teams and players led Riot to reconsider its boundaries going forward: "The rules are the same for everybody, but we have a certain degree of flexibility to interpret the situation." "The context matters. A lot of the situations are not black and white. There's a lot of gray area, and we do have agency in deciding this." "[...] there's been the situation with Jojopyun in Madrid in Spring." "There's a lot to be said about this weekend, but after it happened, we saw feedback from fans. We spoke to the teams. We also have regular player representative meetings. They also shared their feedback, and we realized that we need to reconsider where our boundaries are when it comes to these behaviors."show more

We know what it is about, it's pre-season, we still have a lot to do. 🗣️ “We don't want to hang victories higher than they are. But also we don't want to place losses lower than they should be. 🗣️ “Next week there are things we need to work on definitely. But we did well in the camp and the friendly win”show more

Dear Africans. I know you think we are cowards.... You think we have allowed Mnangagwa to rule with impunity. This is is what we face. We have been facing this for the past 45 years. The problem is, we have been doing it peacefully but met with live bullets. SADC & AU are OK with us being killed. A time will come when we are going to pick matchets and guns and chop each other like what happened in Rwanda. SADC and AU will condemn us as barbarians. Millions of us have left our country not because we desire to be in your countries. We cannot live under this perpetual suffocation. Now we see that South Africans are tired of us. We don't want to be in your countries. We want to be in Zimbabwe. We have asked your presidents to restrain this rabid junta led by Mnangagwa but none of them has tried. We tried elections and we all saw what happened. We are at the end of out wits. and about to snap. If any of you can convince your governments to give us guns and a forest, you will see that we are not cowards.show more

🚨🎙️GIANNI INFANTINO ISSUES EMOTIONAL APOLOGY AFTER FIFA ABANDONS PRIVATE... INVESTMENT PLAN “Over the last few days, I have listened carefully to the concerns raised by confederations, federations, clubs, players and supporters from around the world. When this proposal was first discussed, our intention was never to divide football or compromise the values of the game. We believed we were exploring a unique opportunity that could help football grow and create long-term benefits for future generations. However, after hearing the feedback and seeing the reaction across the football community, it became clear that we underestimated the concerns surrounding these plans. We underestimated how many people would view this as a step in the wrong direction, and for that, I take responsibility. To everyone who felt disappointed, betrayed or that FIFA had broken their trust, I sincerely apologize. That was never our intention. The World Cup means far more than any business proposal, and when something creates this level of division within football, it is our duty to stop, listen and rethink our position. We have done exactly that. After careful reflection, we concluded that this was not the right path for the game. No financial opportunity is worth risking the unity of the football family. Football belongs to its supporters, its players and its communities, and their voices have been heard. Today, we move forward together. We have listened, we have learned, and we will work to rebuild the trust of everyone who felt let down by this process. For that reason, the proposal will not proceed, and our focus returns to protecting the future of football and the values that make this sport special.” “We Underestimated The Concerns, And For That I Apologize” No financial opportunity is worth dividing the football family. We have listened, reflected and decided not to proceed. Football belongs to its fans, and today we are choosing unity over disagreement. We have learned from this experience, and we will work hard to rebuild the trust of everyone who felt let down by these plans.” (Skysport)show more

We have been informed of a ghastly road accident... that has occurred, involving four of our campaign team members. They have all been rushed to hospital. 🚨🔴⚪️ BREAKING: Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone says Julián... Álvarez will not leave for Barcelona this summer. 🗣️ “My position is clear, and I know the club’s is too. We do not want Julián to leave for Barcelona. We have made that known to the player, his representatives and everyone involved. I have no doubt Atlético Madrid is the right place for Julián, and he is the perfect centre-forward for us. We want to keep him as one of the most important players in this project. Barcelona is not a destination we are considering. We do not want to sell him to them, and unless something changes dramatically, he will remain an Atlético Madrid player. But if one club could make us understand Julián wanting a new challenge, it is Arsenal. They are a top club, one of the biggest in Europe, building something special, competing for the biggest trophies with a fantastic manager and great squad. If he ever wanted a new challenge, Arsenal is a club we would understand. The situation is simple: Julián can stay at Atlético Madrid, where we want him, or if the right opportunity comes and he decides to leave, Arsenal is the only club that could change the situation. Barcelona? No.”show more

🗓️ The Portals State of the Union is happening... on Sunday, January 28, where we begin to take the wraps off what we’ve been cooking over the last half of 2023. We have been strategically quieter on the timeline, while relentlessly focused on building a self-sustaining, successful platform that thrives with both web2 and web3 audiences. We have been validating secret projects, while competitors seem to be continuing in the wrong direction. The team has been working on the most valuable experiences and products possible now that we have the fastest/best-in-class 3D experience creator out there. Portals has always been a labor of love. It’s our life’s work, and we are not going anywhere. Solana is also here to stay, further establishing itself as a force to be reckoned with and gaining more of the recognition it deserves. It's time for us to put forward more of the on-chain ecosystem projects we have always wanted to do. Rolling out new systems, incentives, and experiences to fortify Portals as one web3's killer apps and top destinations. We have a lot to share, and we can't wait to show you. This year's State of the Union will be delivered in video format, across X, Discord, and in Portals. We'll be dropping more teasers while looking forward to seeing you on January 28!show more

Indy will come back strong. McConnell and Halliburton are... not blaming the refs. They know they have to play better and probably will. They are such a fast team. Skilled and actually fun to watch. It will be tough. We need OG healthy. The national media gives us no respect, in fact has antipathy towards us. Instead of telling the story of how this team has battled to second place in the conference after losing 3 starters most of the season and now, depleted and with a very small rotation, is winning against tough conference rivals and sending them home, they talk about how much they want us to lose and how we can’t last. But. We know. We know who we are. And what we do. And it’s undeniable. We have a special team. And that team is led by this person ⬇️. I like our chances.show more
