You've probably scrolled past a dozen posts about Jev... this week without anyone telling you what it actually is. It's the first model from TypeSafe, a lab started by one of the researchers behind ChatGPT. It's a decision engine: you give it options, it picks one and tells you how sure it is. It cannot write a single word, and that is the interesting part. Every other AI you use writes. That is the whole interface. So when software needs a plain yes or no, we make a model write a paragraph and then dig the answer back out of it. Fine in a chat window where a human reads it. Bad inside software, where code has to act on it. The bet is that the valuable half was never the writing. It was the deciding. That problem showed up in WordPress years ago, and it is the reason WPVibe works the way it does. The AI does the work. The reason I never take Beyoncé criticism online seriously,... and why it rarely goes anywhere, is because so much of it is disingenuous and comes from a place of already disliking her, often conveniently disguised as “I’m BeyHive myself.” Beyoncé sells a box and suddenly the conversation is about data centres destroying communities, famine, Palestine, classism, low wages, and every other social issue people can attach to it. It’s a box. It’s not an essential commodity. Apparently Beyoncé should price it, and her merch, so that everyone can afford it. But by that logic, every artist should price their tickets, merch, vinyl, and everything else according to what even their poorest fans around the world can afford. Because even a $40 price tag is unaffordable to some fans in developing countries. You see how quickly that argument falls apart? And ironically, it reeks of the same privilege you accuse certain fans of wielding over others. Your own definition of “affordable” is already determined by where you live and what you earn. And “the box is empty” isn’t really the argument people think it is either. It’s empty to YOU. You might look at it and see something worthless, overpriced, or greedy because there isn’t enough tangible value there for you. That doesn’t mean someone else sees the same thing. For another person, the value might literally be in owning it, collecting it, or being part of that small “exclusive” group of people who bought it. People do this all the time. That is how branding has always worked. There are brands selling limited-edition trays, mugs, boxes, notebooks, and random objects for thousands of dollars that might only appeal to 20 people. The fact that you personally would never pay that price does not make the product illegitimate. It just means you are not the customer for that particular product. And this is exactly why so much of the social media activism directed at her never sees the light of day outside these online spaces. The arguments become so exaggerated that whatever legitimate criticism might have existed gets buried underneath them. Beyoncé IS a brand, and increasingly, a LUXURY brand. No brand has ever catered to every segment of its customer base with every product it sells. Sometimes you’ll be priced out by cost. Apparently, I saw this video online and I decided... to share. What this worker is applying is called bitumen, or what many of us know as bituminous coating. Most people think a wall is a solid, impenetrable block, but in reality, it is more like a sponge. Concrete and blocks have microscopic pores that pull water from the earth through a process we call capillary action. This thick black substance is the shield that stops that water from climbing up into the house. It is not about making the wall look good because this part will be buried under the dirt forever. It is about creating a skin that water cannot breathe through. When do you need to do this? The need for this arises because the soil is a very aggressive environment. Water is not your only enemy.. The ground also contains salts and sulfates that want to eat away at the cement. If this moisture finds its way to the steel bars inside the columns, those bars will start to rust. And when steel rusts, it expands, and that expansion is what cracks the concrete from the inside out. This coating is the only thing standing between your foundation and that kind of slow destruction. Thats is why if you see wet patches at the bottom of your walls inside your house, it usually means someone skipped this step or did it poorly during construction. You can apply this anytime you are building parts of a structure that will stay in contact with the ground. It is common in areas where the water table is high or where the soil stays damp for most of the year. This is a one-shot opportunity. Once you backfill the soil, you can never go back to fix it without a lot of expense and a lot of digging. It is about having the foresight to protect the heart of the building while it is still exposed. Please don’t ignore this if you need to. The discourse around the Eze penalty last night is... fascinating. If nothing else it provides Arteta with an excuse as to how his team has been hard done by and robbed. He loves excuses. It’s a fascinating situation because I actually think the right outcome was reached albeit through the wrong process. Once given on the field under the current rules it shouldn't have been overturned. For that Arsenal can feel aggrieved. Don't forget Arsenal were the beneficiaries of an incredibly soft penalty in Leverkusen. It wasn’t overturned. I find the attached video interesting because it clearly shows how minimal the contact is. The defender doesn’t pin Ezes foot to the ground. Doesn’t smash into it. It brushes down the side of it. It’s where the still pictures of it were wildly misleading. Are we really saying that contact such as that is worthy of a penalty? What’s clear in the video is that Eze has absolutely made the most of the slight contact. I love the straight left leg. A very natural position. It’s a brilliant dive and normally it would have been rewarded. By saying that is a stone wall penalty all we are doing is encouraging such theatrics and cheating. Whenever you hear the words “that was clever” by a commentator they are intimating the player has cheated/made the most of it. We complain about refs all the time but what chance do they have when players are doing stuff like this. Until players are punished properly there is no disincentive for players to keep doing this stuff. I also find it fascinating when you have a foot brushed like this. When you compare it to all the holding/pushing/grappling at other times. Sometimes a contact sport and others not. Is this really what football has become?show more

The k- drama We Are All Trying Here is... a must watch I know some people will watch one episode and call it boring. Because It’s not fast paced. It’s slice of life in the most literal sense people sitting in rooms with their envy, their 20 year old dreams that never launched, their friends who made it while they didn’t. It’s quiet. It’s slow. It lingers on silences. But that’s exactly why it gutted me. Because this show understands the war you don’t talk about. The one where you open Instagram at 2am and feel like a failure. Where you’ve been “trying” for years and the world still doesn’t know your name. Hwang Dong-man, twenty years into film school, still no debut. Byeon Eun-ah, called “The Axe” because she has to kill other people’s dreams for a living. Everyone in this drama is carrying some private worthlessness, some comparison they can’t shake. It’s not entertaining in the way K-dramas usually are. It’s uncomfortable. It holds up a mirror to the parts of you that feel behind, bitter, unseen. But that’s why it’s so relatable. That’s why I think everyone should watch it. On the outside, life looks fine but inside, everyone is struggling in their own way. And I think that’s what makes it so relatable. We spend so much time pretending we’re fine, pretending we’re winning. We Are All Trying Here just. admits it. We’re all scared we’re wasting our lives. We are all anxious. We’re all trying here.
