I think his comments about OC Rick Bowie are cool because he’s “getting back” to running the kind of offense that suits his philosophy. - USF HC Brian Hartline has an intensity about him that will be good for a successful team. If they’re not successful though, his shtick could go in the other direction. - Rice HC Scott Abell being so committed to his formula is just cool to see. If they’re get Jacurri Brown rolling, they could be a legit threat and just an annoying team to play. - ECU HC Blake Harrell was cool to hear his perspective on the new coordinators and how he’s excited to shake things up. This created a lot of over draws from a ball flight perspective So we worked on getting the takeaway feeling more outside & trying to hinge the club as vertical as he can at lead arm parallel (P3) This has helped him keep the club more in front of him. FROM CHINESE HARASSMENT IN BAJO DE MASINLOC In response to continued harassment by Chinese Coast Guard vessels against more than 20 Filipino fishing boats last weekend, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) immediately deployed two PCG vessels and five fishery patrol vessels to Bajo de Masinloc. The joint PCG-BFAR deployment ensured the safety and security of the Filipino fishermen while delivering vital support, including fuel subsidies, food packs, and ice to extend their fishing operations and help offset rising fuel costs. PCG Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan also directed the deployment of the PCG Caravan for a Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) flight over the area. Air India B-787 fuel switches: seen a lot of... comments on "racism", "appeasement" to Boeing"; "Western superiority" in some comments, and, on my behalf, I assure you it is not. As seen on this simple video, there´s NO WAY the switches could move themselves. This is not based on this video alone - which clearly shows a mechanical lock, and the need to push up before moving it, as a fail safe - but also on the opinions of captains who fly the plane, technicians, safety experts, and also the simple fact that, despite dozens of B-787 operators worldwide, no one reported switches moving themselves. I said it here more than once: I´m not for conspiracies. You can hide the truth from one person, but to believe that dozens of pilots, investigators, technicians, lawyers, manufacturers, mechanics, etc... would all be duped this easily... seems a far cry. Mathematically alone, tricking all these folks, each with their reputations on the line, seems remote. Also, the source for yesterday´s "leak" is the " Safety Matters Foundation" - NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE prestigious Flight Safety Academy Foundation - appears to have an agenda to deflect blame on the pilots, despite all evidence (so far) pointing to deliberate action. (Also as a note, didn´t you find it dodgy that in 2026, with everyone and their dog having a 20 MP cellphone, the picture of the document, released by the said foundation, has such poor quality? You can hardly read what´s in there) I also find it strange that, on yesterday´s incident, given that, less than one year after a crash involving a B-787 with "supposed" malfunctioning fuel switches, the crew of the latest incident, instead of delaying the flight, and grounding the aircraft, simply opted to continue the flight. Short memory? I underline nothing against Indian Nationals - there are two readers here in particular - which I won´t nominate for privacy reasons - who are Indian Nationals and who always come to help with insightful opinions and respect, which I have in a very high regard. ("not seeing the forest for the trees"") Also, don´t think it was because the accident happened in India that I think less of the nation. Mental health in aviation has been a problem everywhere, the Germanwings is a sad example of that and I also think the attempts of cover-up lately, hinting it was not pilot suicide - by note, pushed by the pilot´s parent - were farcical.show more

The doll comes with a companion app and web monitoring platform for caretakers to monitor remotely. 3. Safety features are installed to alert when no movement has been detected for a certain period, essentially always watching the user. 4. The doll also offers touch interaction, 24-hour voice reminders, check-ins, voice messages, a health coach, quizzes, exercise, music, and more. 5. Caregivers have access to the app, allowing them to send/receive voice messages, make group announcements, and monitor motion detection. I'd definitely have some privacy and data collection concerns here before handing this off to my family, but the product actually seems really cool. Facial reconstruction of a 7,500-year-old man from Kenya A... large collection of ancient human remains was recovered in the Elmenteita district of Kenya, at the Bromhead site. Eight relatively complete skulls and numerous skeletal fragments were found, representing as many as 29 individuals. The burials belong to different periods, but their exact chronology remains uncertain; it is only clear that they date to the Mesolithic. The best available date comes from ten mandibles, which were dated to approximately 7,400 years ago (Bada et al., 1974), although some of the skeletons are undoubtedly older, while others are younger. Individual finds from Elmenteita were variously described as proto-Bushmanoid, resembling the Khoikhoi of Kakamas, or as a distinct "Elmenteita type" characterized by extreme dolichocephaly, long faces, and tall stature. However, these classifications were purely typological, and even the "Bushman type" grouped together the markedly different Elmenteita A and F1 skulls. All of the Elmenteita skulls are long or very long, but they vary greatly in breadth, ranging from very narrow to broad, and from hyperdolichocranic to brachycranic. Cranial height also varies considerably, from low to high, though the average is moderate. Minimum frontal breadth is average or slightly above average. Most skulls have a receding forehead, while the brow ridges are relatively weak by Mesolithic standards. A distinctive feature is the very high placement of the temporal lines. The face has a long cranial base and is of moderate to great height (very low only in the female Elmenteita F1), with a broad upper portion. Facial and bizygomatic breadth vary greatly, from very narrow to broad. Vertical facial profile ranges from prognathous to orthognathous. The noses are leptorrhine. As is evident, the Elmenteita series is highly heterogeneous. The male skulls Elmenteita A and B differ noticeably from one another, while Elmenteita F1 stands out most distinctly. L. Leakey divided the series into two groups: the first included Elmenteita A and D, and the second Elmenteita B, F, and F1. The skulls of the first group (to which the reconstructed individual belongs) are more robust, hyperdolichocranic or dolichocranic, with faces that are broad relative to the cranial vault. Their faces are mesognathous and either mesoprosopic or leptoprosopic, with chamaeconchic orbits and leptorrhine or mesorrhine noses. The skulls of the second group are more gracile, being moderately dolichocranic (B), mesocranic (F), or brachycranic (F1). Their cranial vaults are broad relative to the face, with pronounced parietal eminences. They exhibit overall facial orthognathism (B) or prognathism (F and F1), a narrow, high leptorrhine nose, and pronounced alveolar prognathism. In fact, this second group could itself be divided into two or even three distinct types, since skull B differs from F and F1 in being dolichocranic, orthognathous, and hypsiconchic, while F1 is distinguished by its brachycrany, euryprosopy, and chamaeconchy. To what extent this diversity reflects individual variation or true population differences remains unknown. Judging from the stratigraphy, the Elmenteita cemetery may well contain burials of people from different periods, cultures, populations, and biological races. Overall, the series displays an unusual combination of traits for Africa: large cranial size, a receding forehead, a high face, and, in some individuals, orthognathism, high orbits, and a narrow nose. However, this combination is also atypical for the East African race, to which the Elmenteita skulls are often assigned. Only Elmenteita F1 more or less fits the description of the southern prognathous variant of the East African race (S. V. Drobyshevsky, Antropogenez).show more

Why Jamming the Venezuelan Systems Is Unlikely Well, when... I hear about jamming in Venezuela, I immediately picture the Americans talking about the EA-18G Growler with the NGJ. The NGJ is specifically designed to degrade advanced Russian radars, with high power and directional AESA beams. To cover an area the size of Caracas would require multiple squadrons, and there were indeed a lot of birds in the sky, but… jamming such a large area with diverse systems on high alert is extremely complex and improbable. The radars of the S-300VM use rapid frequency hopping to avoid continuous jamming, along with LPI modes that reduce the radar’s signature, making it difficult for jammers like the NGJ to detect and interfere. The Buk-M2 has similar ECCM capabilities, with high resistance to noise jamming. This isn’t to say the Americans can’t do it, but sustaining it continuously across so many dispersed batteries is unlikely. Additionally, both the Buk-M2 and the Pechora-2M have electro-optical/TV/IR channels as backups, allowing tracking without active radar in heavy jamming scenarios. If they were being operated, it would have been impossible for those helicopters to fly over Caracas. And finally, systems like the S-300 have Home-on-Jam (HOJ) capability, a mode in which the missile is fired directly at the jamming source (electronic interference) as a passive target. With so many aircraft in the sky, I’d say it would be impossible to shut down all the radars in perfect synchronization against a hypersonic missile. Lastly, there are the MANPADS that were not used. We saw helicopters flying extremely low with no reaction whatsoever from MANPADS, which would have been effective in that situation. Well, this has nothing to do with jammers and everything to do with orders not to fire. I’m not here saying that American EW with F-35 + Growler + NGJ cannot overcome these defenses in some scenarios, but rather stating that, given the scale and the conditions, it is unlikely that this is the reason for the silence of the Venezuelan air defenses.show more
