She called herself a proud socialist Democrat. Like so... many young, college-educated women in blue cities, Barbie believed the world was divided between oppressors and oppressed. She marched for every progressive cause and found real meaning in the protests. The demonstrations filled her life with purpose and moral clarity. Even though she had never seriously studied the Israel-Gaza conflict, the passionate slogans against “occupation,” “oppression,” and “apartheid,” along with calls for “freedom” and “resistance,” sounded righteous to her. The emotional intensity of the activists made her feel she was on the right side of history, so she never asked difficult questions or looked deeper into the facts. Then she met him at a campus protest against Israel. He presented himself as a refugee who had suffered under Western imperialism. Barbie saw a victim, not a threat. She took him in, posted about their relationship as an act of “resistance,” and was celebrated by her activist friends as a symbol of love overcoming hate. After a few months, he convinced her to move into his community—a closed, insular neighborhood where most asylum seekers and migrants from his background lived. In this once-proud patriotic city, they had become the majority in large parts of the urban area. What used to symbolize national identity had transformed into a parallel society where Western norms were no longer dominant. It was there that the violence became more frequent and open. He would scream at her, grab her, and hit her in front of neighbors. No one intervened. No one seemed surprised. Some even looked at her with disapproval, as if she were the problem. Still, Barbie believed he could change. She told herself that with enough love, he would see her pain. She forgave him again and again, convincing herself each time that the next outburst would be the last. But she never dared to call the police or seek help. She was terrified of of being accused of racism or Islamophobia, or labeled “far-right” by her liberal friends. So she stayed silent, isolated, and slowly disappeared from her old life. One day, the man she defended killed her. Barbie is not her real name, but her story is becoming more common. The same political circles in the West that promote open borders and mass immigration refuse to acknowledge a simple truth: not all cultures are equal. They deny it, suppress discussion, and continue flooding the West with people from incompatible societies. In doing so, they brainwash a generation and prevent real protection for the women and girls most at risk from the ideology they imported. In the Muslim world there is very little diversity. Minorities are steadily disappearing, along with traces of pre-Islamic civilizations. Islam is fundamentally totalitarian. While Western cultures were built to protect women, Islam treats them as property—selling girls as child brides, forcing them into marriage, and condemning them to lives of suffering and control. Every year, thousands of women are murdered by their families in so-called “honor killings.” In most cases, these murders are not treated as serious crimes because they align with Islamic teachings. Barbie believed the slogans. She paid for them with her life. How many more women must be sacrificed before the West stops lying to itself about the consequences of importing incompatible cultures? It is time to end mass immigration from societies that do not respect basic Western values—especially regarding women. Asylum must be strictly limited and properly vetted. Anyone who supports violence against women, honor culture, or the supremacy of Sharia over Western law has no place in the West. Anyone who blames her or claims she “brought it on herself” is consciously or unconsciously trying to deny the real threat. He reacts defensively and argues logically A double mistake When a woman tries to start an argument with you, she's testing to see if you're stupid enough to take her seriously If you do take her seriously and argue with her, you fall into her frame and essentially fall into her trap. Whereas if you treat her like an adorable petulant child, you pass the test and sidestep the trap In this scene, Cal reacts the wrong way to Rose's shit test. Unfortunately Easter is normally a prime time for jokes from all sorts of people linking indulgence and sweets with the condition. Jokes are often seen as harmless, however they perpetuate the stigma and misunderstanding of serious conditions, in this case diabetes. Diabetes in general is a condition where a person is unable to handle the breakdown products of carbohydrates (sugar) in a way a non-diabetic person would. This is important because the cells in our body rely on sugar to get energy, but this has to be done in a controlled way. People with diabetes have an issue with insulin specifically. There are many different types of diabetes including gestational diabetes, which is seen in pregnancy, and steroid induced diabetes, which is brought on by medications. The two most well-known types however are type 1 and type 2. What doesn’t cause diabetes is eating too much chocolate! It ranges from your genetics to viral loads and even your vitamin D levels! In 2012, diabetes in total was the direct cause of 1.5 million deaths globally. Often, it can be deadly before you’ve even released you are diabetic! What is more worrying when seeing public figures making jokes about diabetes is that there is increasing evidence of significant mental health concerns within children with type 1 diabetes with nearly 40% of type 1 diabetic children seeking assistance from mental health support teams. I’m convinced that all these, including meeting with a known political rival, former Vice President Leni Robredo, is just a way for us to stop talking about the issues involving VP Sara, her family and their allies. I have to hand it to the Vice President, she successfully made the news and headlines about her refusal to take an oath, her claims about impeachment and not being friends with the president (who wants to be friends with her anyway). But the truth of the matter is, the House Committee on Good Governance established a lot of crucial facts and so forgive me for pivoting the conversation back to what matters. Although I also watched the hearing in its entirety but how Rep. Why does Mary look younger than Jesus in Michelangelo's... Pietà? The answer is one of the most beautiful in art history... Mary is holding the body of her 33 year old son, but she looks 20. Critics noticed it the moment the sculpture was unveiled in 1499. The mother of a man who has just been crucified would have been in her late forties or early fifties. Michelangelo had carved her as a girl. His own biographer, Ascanio Condivi, was the one who finally asked him why. The answer Michelangelo gave is preserved in Condivi's Life of Michelangelo and has been repeated for centuries: "Do you not know that chaste women stay fresh much more than those who are not chaste? How much more in the case of the Virgin, who had never experienced the least lascivious desire that might change her body?" Most modern critics treat this answer as a half-serious deflection. Michelangelo was famous for his sharp tongue and refused to explain himself to people he considered beneath his intellect. The deeper answer is older, and it lies inside one of the greatest poems ever written. In the final canto of Dante's Paradiso, Saint Bernard of Clairvaux begins his prayer to the Virgin with one of the most extraordinary lines in Italian literature: "Vergine madre, figlia del tuo figlio." "Virgin mother, daughter of your own son." Michelangelo, who knew Dante by heart, was carving that line into stone. Mary is younger than Jesus because Jesus is older than the universe... because she gave birth to her own creator. But there is another reading, simpler than either of those, and it is the one I find myself thinking of today. Every mother who has held her child has held them at every age at once. The infant is still inside the toddler. The toddler is still inside the teenager. The young man on her lap, even dead, is also the boy she nursed and the baby she first carried home. And maybe that's why Michelangelo did not carve Mary as the years had aged her. He carved her as love had kept her: outside of time, outside of grief, holding her son the way she had always held him... So, I added a special chapter specifically to crush Korn even further. Now, let's get to the point. For anyone wondering when Boon was actually possessed, I’m going to reveal everything here. (Please look at the attached images for context on each scene.) Boon was protected by the Moon Deity and possessed her own magical spells, making it impossible for ghosts to harm or retain her. In EP4, when Boon returned to pack her things, her mother inscribed mystic symbols on her right palm to boost her power so she could fight Jomkwan, knowing her vengeance was powerful. If you look closely, every time Jomkwan touched Boon, her hands would burn so hot that smoke appeared. Yet, she fought through the pain without showing it. However, all those protective spells were destroyed the moment Boon grabbed the ritual knife to deflect it from stabbing Win. Once her guardian deity's power weakened, it was game over. Jomkwan began planning to possess Boon the moment she touched her and didn't feel the heat anymore. This is why she stared at Boon for so long; she was calculating. She then tricked everyone into a false sense of security, acting as if she had surrendered and was leaving. The possession actually started the second when Win said, "Let’s finish what we started." Being cunning, Jomkwan slowly took over Boon’s body bit by bit, thinking Boon wouldn't notice. She feared that if she knew, she would use her magic to resist. But she was wrong. Boon knew exactly what was happening, yet she "willingly" let her possess her. Out of guilt for what she had done in the past, she saw this as the only way to atone for her adoptive sister. It was actually Jomkwan who didn't realize Boon was letting her in. The possession became 100% complete after the vacation house was burned down, once all ties were severed and there were no obligations left. Note: Since Jomkwan didn't just want to possess her but wanted to claim the body as her own, Boon’s soul passed away as a result. Regarding Jompol Monk’s advice to burn the house, it wasn't because he wanted to help her. He only realized what was happening after Jomkwan had already fully possessed Boon. She was so convincing that she even fooled a monk. Jomkwan's playfulness in Boon's body when they leave the hospital, and she asks, "Ghosts?" There was no longer any reason to make Win see ghosts, because the real ghost - Jomkwan - was standing right in front of her. Win only truly started to realize something was wrong because the feeling of being near this fake Boon changed. She didn't feel the same heart-fluttering sensation she felt with the real Boon or Thamon. It wasn't until she saw the reflection in the mirror that she finally knew the truth. My favorite line is: "Oops! So you finally realized?" The tone is so mocking and provocative. It is worse than dishonest - it is an absolute lack of care. Penny Wong came to this country when she was 8 years old. She came to a country that afforded her the ability to become who she is, and she is now doing her part to destroy it. Back in the 70’s, when she came, Australia was a fair-minded place and a great place to be. Yet here she is... Here in Australia. Undermining our country and lying to our faces. Because she can’t tell the truth. Because if she did, it would destroy any semblance of care for Australia tied to her old party’s Labor brand. It would say the quiet part out loud. The truth. The truth that the Albanese government is more interested in the fortunes of the ISIS brides, women who chose to leave this country to go and fight against our people, than those of us that can’t find or afford a place to live here at home. Too much corruption, too many words too carefully chosen in a pantomime between to political forces that don’t really want to change anything. They just want to have their go, to have their turn to jam their grubby hands into the till. Surely with this major and catastrophic failure by the so-called Honourable Minister Senator Wong, the people will be able to see through the veil and into the absolute and irresponsible lack of care at the heart of this deceitful Labor government. They lie about everything, and they can, because they don’t have an opposition worthy of the title. I am growing more confident by the day that the only solution to our woes is a new political force, a fresh, Australia first force, that will act in the national interest and put all these corrupt and useless used-car salesmen red and blue in the dustbin of history.
