🚨🇨🇳 Chinese scientists identify previously unknown cause of Alzheimer's... disease A substance formed when particles break down — called 6PPD-quinone — may trigger inflammation and oxidative stress, both hallmarks of dementia, the new study suggests 🔸 The chemical is created when microscopic tire rubber reacts with ozone in the air, washing into water, soil, and even our bodies — it has been found in human blood 🔸 The compound can cross the blood-brain barrier — a filter that normally keeps harmful substances out of the brain 🔸 Scientists used databases to map over 100 potential ways this substance could interact with human biology 🔸They found 92 overlaps — including 23 key genes acting as communication hubs. These genes are most active in brain regions critical for memory and movement, such as the cortex and basal ganglia, which are especially vulnerable to Alzheimer's If experimental validation follows, this discovery could significantly improve the effectiveness of Alzheimer's future therapies.show more

To replace animal testing with AI, we need MASSIVE... human datasets. Today, we're thrilled to share Axiom's new data exploration tool, providing the ability to visually explore the world's largest primary human liver toxicity dataset. Built with Axiom's proprietary wetlab protocols, our dataset includes detailed liver toxicity profiles for over 100,000 distinct molecules. The key to this dataset is our ability to do high-throughput, multiplexed high-content screening with primary human liver cells. Traditionally, toxicity assays either sacrifice throughput or sacrifice biological relevance (using easy-to-grow immortalized cell lines instead of real human cells). We managed to combine throughput, physiological relevance, and multiplexing in one platform. The assays run in a high throughput format using automation, meaning thousands of compound-dose conditions can be tested in one experiment. We achieved this using pooled primary human hepatocytes, which are often fragile and expensive. By systemizing our automation and quality control processes, we were able to run over 120+ batches on the same donor pool with incredible reproducibility and consistency. We did this while integrating many readouts per well, whereas many existing toxicity assays only do a single readout. Our multiplexed approach provides far more data per experiment enabling us to measure 10-20 different toxicity phenotypes such as apoptosis, necrosis, mitochondrial fission, endoplasmic reticulum stress, stress granule formation, microtubules, and more all from a single well on a 384-well plate! The combination of scale, high content information, and data quality is exactly what is needed to train highly accurate AI models in biology. If you're interested, please explore the dataset in the comments below and let me know if you want to chat about the details!show more

BOOM! Humanoid Robots Just Performed Surgery for the First... Time! REAL VIDEO! In a groundbreaking preclinical breakthrough, researchers at UC San Diego have achieved what many thought was years away: teleoperated humanoid robots successfully completing live surgeries. Published in Nature, the study marks the world’s first use of humanoid robots for in-vivo laparoscopic procedures on large animals (pigs). Two separate surgeries were completed: Key Details •. Procedure: Laparoscopic gallbladder removal (cholecystectomy) •. Team 1: Human surgeon + one humanoid robot (the robot performed core tasks while the human assisted) •. Team 2: Two humanoid robots working together with no human at the operating table •. Robots: Custom “Surgie” humanoids (~5 ft tall, ~60 lbs) using standard surgical tools •. Control: Fully teleoperated by surgeons (remote human control, not autonomous) •. Significance: First demonstration of humanoid robots handling real surgical workflows in a live setting, proving compatibility with existing OR tools and spaces This proof shows humanoid robots could one day help address surgeon shortages, enable remote procedures in rural areas, battlefields, or even space all at a fraction of the cost and space of traditional surgical robots like da Vinci. Read the full publication here: Project page with video: The future of surgery just got a whole lot more interesting. Neuralink Integration with ANKTIVA for Revolutionary Immunotherapy Elon Musk,... a visionary collaboration opportunity by Dr. Sarabi and Grok. Dear Mr Musk: Good morning sir! I would like to bring to your attention the remarkable work of Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, who has developed a groundbreaking therapy, Anktiva, capable of supercharging key immune molecules to combat cancer and COVID-19. In a recent discussion with Tucker Carlson, Dr. Soon-Shiong described this advance as akin to the “E=mc²” of medicine—the discovery of “God’s equation,” a biological key that has eluded us for half a century until now. Just as Tesla has revolutionized the automotive and environmental industries, and SpaceX has advanced the expansion of humanity into a multi-planetary species to ensure our long-term survival, Anktiva represents a comparable paradigm shift in medicine, safeguarding human health and endurance. Given your shared commitment to advancing humanity, I respectfully inquire whether you might consider extending your support to Dr. Soon-Shiong in this critical pursuit. Moreover, I propose exploring the integration of Neuralink, employing the stepwise protocol outlined below, in collaboration with Dr. Soon-Shiong. Such a partnership could propel an unprecedented advancement in medicine and the future of humankind. Grok has developed a preliminary conceptual integration of Neuralink to enhance and supercharge IL-15 production 1/7: Identify Target Neural Circuits • Map the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus (PVN) and dorsal motor nucleus of the vagus • Trace efferent projections from the PVN to the intermediolateral cell column (IML) in the spinal cord. • Identify sympathetic nerve fibers innervating the spleen and lymph nodes. • Map vagus nerve branches terminating in gut-associated lymphoid tissue and the hepatic portal system. 2/7: Implant Neuralink and Integrate with Neural Pathways • Place Neuralink electrodes in the PVN and dorsal motor nucleus of the vagus, using extended threads for subcortical/brainstem access. • Configure for recording/stimulation to modulate autonomic outflow to the IML at thoracic spinal levels. • Establish central control over peripheral pathways (e.g., splenic/vagus nerves) via targeted brain stimulation. 3/7: Develop Stimulation Protocols • Program Neuralink for high-frequency stimulation to the PVN for sympathetic activation. • Apply low-frequency patterned stimulation to the dorsal motor nucleus to engage feedback loops. • Modulate splenic/vagal pathways with phase-locked cycles through central interfaces. 4/7: Initiate Immune Cell Activation • Stimulate pathways to induce IFN-γ and TNF-α release in spleen/lymph nodes. • Trigger IL-15 transcription/translation in dendritic cells, monocytes, and epithelial cells. • Monitor for increased membrane-bound IL-15/IL-15Rα complex formation. 5/7: Enhance Local IL-15 Presentation • Concentrate stimulation at tumor/inflammation sites. • Promote immune cell clustering via chemokine/adhesion molecule induction. • Sustain localized IL-15/IL-15Rα trans-presentation to NK and CD8+ T cells. 6/7: Implement Real-Time Monitoring and Feedback • Record neural/immune biomarkers continuously via Neuralink telemetry. • Adjust stimulation based on IL-15 levels and NK/T cell activity. • Set safety thresholds to avoid excessive immune activation. 7/7: Synchronize with Immunotherapy • Time stimulation with IL-15 superagonists or adoptive therapies. • Evaluate synergies using immune monitoring/imaging. • Optimize based on patient responses. “Good morning!” Toddlers are up being friendly ahead of... most people. As some of us who live or have lived with them can attest, this often starts at 6am, or earlier…😊 A bright and happy “good morning” is a toddler greeting they don’t miss as they get excited about their day and want others to be excited too. And although many of us are not as awake as them during our mornings, it can help us, and those around us, to give that cheery “good morning” to everyone, including strangers. In a study looking at the behaviors of 60,000 adults, researchers from Turkey found that people who had these types of momentary interactions had increased wellbeing by establishing belonging. Lead author Dr. Esra Ascigil explained the reason for this as “Having a sense of belonging involves feeling like you are accepted and valued by other people – it is often considered a fundamental human need.” And we see this not just in the morning, but throughout the day as toddlers and preschoolers walk around malls and grocery stores greeting strangers much more than adults do. They intuitively know what makes them, and others, feel good. nzherald article with an excellent summary of the research from Sabancı Üniversitesi: Video Credit: erin_dittmer on TTshow more

BREAKING: When today’s jobs are automated by AI, what... will great human work look like? This is the most important question of our time. Introducing Thesis Statements, a new project from Every 📧 bringing together 100 builders and thinkers to call their shot: We asked them to make a specific prediction about what great human work will look like after automation. Today we’re launching the first 25 Thesis Statements from an incredible group including: • Karri Saarinen • Chris Pedregal • Anne-Laure Le Cunff • Yash Tekriwal • Alex Komoroske • Tina He • Jonny Miller • Paul Millerd • sari azout • Tom Critchlow • Simone Stolzoff And 14 more amazing builders and thinkers. At Every 📧 we believe there is a bright future for human work after automation. And we believe that there’s a small group of humans who know what it looks like—because they live the answers every day. But their ideas are still largely missing from the mainstream discourse about AI. That’s why we’re creating a public record of what people at the frontier are seeing now, so we can get these ideas to as many people as possible. We’ll also revisit them over time, and ask: Which claims held up? Which didn’t? Which became more useful as the technology changed—and which dissolved on contact with the world? After a formative time at OpenAI, I’m launching Maison... AGI (Maison AGI), a fashion house creating cultural artifacts for the AI era. Our first collection, Relic of Thought, is a collaboration with Ilya Sutskever (Ilya Sutskever), featuring his original artworks alongside a signature hat modeled after his iconic head. It is a study in conviction and the clarity of vision that gives thought its form. I believe we're living through something extraordinary that deserves to be remembered. Not in research papers or technical model cards, but in tangible objects we can hold, wear, and pass down. Working alongside some of the world's brilliant researchers building Claude and ChatGPT, I've come to realize they are among the most creative minds alive. Research, at its best, is an act of imagination: the ability to glimpse what doesn't yet exist and then build toward it. Many of them remain unseen, even as their work quietly reshapes our future. Though AGI progress can feel incomprehensible from the outside, its story is deeply human - full of curiosity, conviction, and creation. We're bridging that world with the creatives who give form to ideas. This may be humanity's last time to create a hand-crafted project before what we build surpasses us. Each collection is also a message to superintelligence itself: that we cared, and that we tried to make beauty out of understanding.show more

For 50 years, science told us genes were fixed... our destiny written at birth. In 2003, the Human Genome Project quietly shattered that belief. What it revealed instead is a discovery in epigenetics that should be taught in every school on Earth: 1. The old model said: you have a gene for anxiety. A gene for depression. A gene for heart disease. A gene for early death. You inherited it from your parents. Your children will inherit it from you. Nothing you do changes it. The Human Genome Project; a 13-year, $3 billion study was supposed to confirm this. Instead, it revealed something no one expected: Humans have roughly 23,000 genes. Less than a roundworm. The "genetic destiny" model collapsed overnight. 2. What emerged in its place was the field of epigenetics, the science of how your environment controls your DNA. The discovery: genes do not determine your life. Signals from the environment turn genes on and off. And the environment that matters most? Your internal environment. Your thoughts. Your emotions. Science now shows that the emotion you sustain for as little as 15 to 20 minutes a day can signal your immune cells to begin producing new proteins. Your emotional state is writing instructions to your DNA. Right now. 3. In Dr. Joe Dispenza's workshops, students measured for gene expression changes after just 4 days. Significant shifts detected. IgA the immune marker increased measurably. New proteins. New enzymes. New hormones. From thought and emotion alone. No drugs. No surgery. No supplements just the mind-body connection in action. 4. This means: The disease your parent had is not your sentence. The anxiety that runs in your family is a pattern not a prophecy. The body you inherited is not the body you're confined to. You are not a victim of your biology. You are the author of it. Every day you choose the emotional signals you flood your cells with and those signals are rewriting the program. 5. The most powerful pharmacy in existence is inside you. You don't need a prescription for it. You need a practice.show more

I believe that StoryDiffusion has the potential to be... Animatediff's complex motion sister-model! While AD is amazing for granular control, micro-motion and all kinds of abstract motion, it fails at complex realistic motion - walking, human movements, cars, etc. StoryDiffusion seems very promising for this + also has characteristics that will likely make the community very receptive to it and likely to extend its capabilities: 2) Appealing base-model results - likely to get the community excited - feels like significantly better realistic motion than AD 2) Modular - their approach is built with a number of components that can be combined and taken apart - it works by generating consistent images, then animating them together - each of these stages can likely be upgraded, used and influenced in different ways. 3) Flexible - they demonstrate a bunch of different conditioning options 4) Likely easy on RAM - it's based on SD 1.5 + authors mention precautions to reduce RAM consumption 5) Built to plug into the existing ecosystem - e.g. the fact that it works with the SD1.5 ecosystem will give it a huge advantage! While it's very early to say - e.g. the video model hasn't even been released yet! - it does seem very promising. With 9 months of SD1.5/Animatediff-esque progress improving every element of it, I can see an an extremely extended version of this beating Sora + running for a fraction of the compute resources on a consumer GPU. Together with Animatediff to drive the micro-motions and abstract stuff, it could produce be extraordinary/otherworldly/insane/beautiful stuff. This is the first open video model I've been excited about since Animatediff - though cautiously optimistic! Link here:show more

A natural solution is DAgger-style online imitation learning: deploy the robot, collect human corrections, and update the policy. Yet foundation models are fragile in the low-data regime, fine-tuning on a handful of interventions can improve one behavior while degrading others. Online post-training or reinforcement learning can require costly data collection and exploration, making real-world learning expensive and potentially unsafe. In our new paper, 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗗𝗔𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿, we take a different approach: 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹, 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. These latent targets train a lightweight controller that adapts the robot while preserving the original model's capabilities. Across simulation and real robots, FlowDAgger: 📈 Learns from only 5–20 human intervention episodes 🏆 Outperforms supervised fine-tuning and latent-space reinforcement learning 🤖 Works across VLAs, diffusion policies, and world-action models ✔️ Provides reliable improvements without modifying the pretrained policy We believe this offers a practical path toward making robot foundation models improve during deployment, learning from the way humans naturally teach: through corrections. 📄 Paper: 🌐 Project: 💻 Code: This project was led by my amazing colleague Michael Murray with help from Daphne Chen, Simran Bagaria, Dean Fortier, Tess Hellebrekers, Harshavardhan Reddy Gajarla, Galen Mullins and Andrey Kolobov at Microsoft Research and Maya Cakmak at University of Washingtonshow more

What if modern medicine felt like a work of... art? Today SONATA is live in NYC, SF, and LA, and we couldn't be prouder to have helped bring it into the world. Sonata maps your whole genome, hundreds of biomarkers, your cellular age, and then puts a real care team on top of the whole picture. Healthcare built for your biology, actually yours. When the founder, Sagan Schultz first walked us through his vision of concierge medicine, genomics, biomarkers, and contextual intelligence woven into one experience, we knew right away we wanted to make something harmonious, artful, and calm; a brand you'd trust with your body. A ‘sonata’ is a musical form built on structure: distinct movements, precise notation, played with feeling. That felt like everything care should be; mathematical underneath, human on the surface. We knew this name was perfect. Visually, we rendered a calla lily 🌷in cross-processed colors of petal blues, sunset corals, and an iridescent wash to give the data-heavy brand room to breathe in airy, open spaces. Then we built the counterpoints of exacting copy, fine atomic details of UI, data charts, and user flows. The elegant wordmark paired against against a living flower felt like the right balance. We carried that discipline into motion and the product itself. The flower breathes rather than spins. Interfaces settle with an unhurried weight. The user flows follow the same logic: one step at a time, plain language, your results building into a picture as you go, a doctor visible at the end of every decision. We treated movement and flow as clinical trust signals: a system this confident doesn't need to shout. All of it is tuned to one job, helping you be present with your body's information. We aimed to make a new medicine brand that felt modern and timeless at once. ~ Little Plains helped create the naming, brand strategy, positioning, verbal system, visual identity, motion design, and product surfaces where the science becomes care. Grateful to Sagan, David, Hiya, Dev, and the SONATA team for the trust. Your health story begins today. 🌸show more

U.S. Patent 6,506,148 is titled "Nervous System Manipulation by... Electromagnetic Fields from Monitors.” It describes a method for influencing a human subject's nervous system through the use of electromagnetic fields emitted by devices like computer monitors and television sets. 📡📺💻 The inventor, Hendricus G. Loos, suggests that pulsing the images on these displays at specific frequencies can trigger physical responses through sensory resonance. ⚠️ These subtle pulses can be integrated directly into video content or layered over an existing signal to interact with a viewer's skin. 📹📱⚡ Remarkably, the technology is designed to function even when the visual fluctuations are subliminal, meaning they are too faint for the user to see or consciously perceive. 👀 Ultimately, the system aims to remotely manipulate human bodies by using everyday hardware as a transmission device for electromagnetic stimulation. And the scariest part? This patent has been public since 2003. So why is this important to understand? Your nervous system runs the show. 🧠⚡ It controls your immune system, hormones, digestion, detox, and sleep. Every healing response starts there. If you’re stuck in stress mode, your body stays in survival and cannot repair. 🚨 Healing isn’t just chemical. It’s electrical. ⚡🧬 You can eat clean and take supplements, but if your nervous system is overloaded, healing slows down. That alone should make us more mindful about nervous system health. Excess screen time, stress, artificial light, and constant stimulation can disrupt sleep, mood, and physiology. 😴📱🌙 Instead of fear: 📵 Limit screens before bed 🌙 Use blue-light filters ☀️ Prioritize sunlight, grounding, and sleep 💧 Support detox pathways 🛡️ Strengthen your biology 🧠 Awareness matters. Discernment matters more. Don’t let screen time hijack your nervous system. A case of two coronary scans: Nick Norwitz (high-fat,... keto 🍳); Simon Hill (plant-based 🌱) First, for context, this post is largely in response to an incredibly nuanced and non-dogmatic podcast conversation between Dave Feldman and Darius Sharpe, one that had me scratching my chin and holding my ribs throughout. I definitely recommend giving it a listen. 12/10 Episode! They spend a substantial amount of time discussing cardiovascular risk and, in particular, the contrast between my coronary CT scan, showing 0 calcified and 0 soft plaque (total plaque 0mm3) despite astronomical LDL levels in the high 500s for seven years vs that of plant-based nutrition influencer Simon Hill, which showed 61.3 mm3 of plaque despite his never having had high LDL and, for the last decade or so, targeting exceptionally low LDL and ApoB, including by taking a PCSK9 inhibitor and eating a low-saturated-fat, plant-forward diet. First and foremost, there’s only so much you can conclude from a comparison of two cases. That’s obvious, so let me state that clearly. However, considering the broader context and expressed public interested, it’s still an interesting thought puzzle: What is “protecting” me from atherosclerosis, or what is leading Simon to develop plaque despite his low LDL and ApoB? I’ll address the common hand-wavy answer up front: “Well, maybe Nick has some special protective genetics.” What I’d say to this is that, although I can’t rule it out definitively since we haven’t annotated the entire human genome, my father had 99% occlusion of his left anterior descending artery at 44, and I also inherited his high Lp(a), which sits between 150 and 200. That is in addition to my historically exceptionally high LDL and a history of inflammatory bowel disease, which should further increase my risk of progression. Yet despite all of that, I have no measurable plaque, even though, as the patient, I can tell you that many cardiologists assured me I would. Additionally, the excuse that “he’s just young” doesn’t fly, since Simon is also young. We’re both in our 30s. And, as a historical comparator, children with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia can develop plaque within a few years of being born. So, puzzle me this: Why am I not developing plaque if the relationship between LDL/ApoB exposure and plaque progression is so "remarkably consistent?" Hand-wave if you want, but I’d like something more specific please. (And I’d like anybody to tell me why they think I was confident enough to spend seven years on a self-experiment, risking my heart on the bet that this would effectively be the outcome. Was I just cocky and lucky?) That’s mostly what I want to post: a thought question to consider based on two individuals who have chosen to make their data publicly available. However, since this field is so wrapped in controversy, let me elaborate on a few more points that are related. 1. KETO-CTA. To anyone who wants to pivot and try to point the finger at KETO-CTA, I will remind you that, in 4 separate analyses, there was no relationship between LDL or ApoB and plaque progression. That remains true to this day. In fact, it's a result that remains more robust for having had our hands forced to run the additional analyses. With respect to our retraction of the April 7th Cleerly paper, which continues to be misrepresented (at this point, I have to assume willfully) I will remind you: i) we the authors, pushed forward the retraction of the April 7 paper; it was not forced upon us ii) we did so because of the Cleerly anomalies that came to light after publication – nb: Dave and I were blinded to elements of data willfully to protect the integrity of the project (there’s an irony for you) iii) we sought retraction only after company’s refusal to repeat a properly blinded rescan and quality assessment, and subsequent analyses that made the only reasonable interpretation that Cleerly systematically overestimated plaque progression iv) in none of the analyses did ApoB or LDL predict plaque progression, which was the main novel finding and remains robust. 2. Ezetimibe I am now taking ezetimibe. Critics have tried to cast this - incorrectly - as some form of me hedging, but I intentionally did not start it until after my 7-year scan, and I am not withholding any information from or about that scan. The reason I’m taking ezetimibe, which I have very clearly disclosed, including in my newsletter and in a video, is 2024 Aging Biology research suggesting cholesterol-independent effects on neuroprotection, which is something that’s important to me. The fact that I am taking it, I would cast as a testament that I’m not dogmatic on this issue, and I’m not trying to “LDL-maxx” for some aware. Rather, I’m being open, honest and transparent in my journey as a person and patient trying to make the best decision for myself at ever step of the journey. Also, on the topic of ezetimibe, see recent work by Adrian Soto-Mota DoctorTro et al., which adds another layer of nuance to LDL and ApoB management in the context of low-carbohydrate diets. TL;DR, if someone sees their LDL and ApoB rise on a low-carbohydrate / ketogenic diet, ezetimibe is likely to punch above its weight for LDL and ApoB reduction. Setting aside dogma, understanding individual biology and how to manipulate it can often be very useful in a clinical setting. I will always put data first. Acknowledging this fact is not contradictory to anything I’ve said, but completely consistent with it. It is all about individual context. Now, everyone should go listen to episode 43 of TFP_ with Dave Feldman and Darius Sharpe (Spotify, Apple and YouTube). It’s stupendous! P.S. I want to thank Dave for sharing on the podcast that, before each of my cardiac scans, I said a priori that I would release the results, whatever they were. You all know Dave to be impeccably honest. That is not in dispute, and it has always been my intent to share my data openly, as I have.show more

Randy Gardner stayed awake for 264 hours (11 days) with: • No stimulants • No caffeine • No medical suppressants And Stanford sleep researchers realized too late they couldn't stop him. What happened inside his brain during those 264 hours rewrote everything we thought we knew about consciousness. By day three, Randy's short term memory had completely collapsed. He couldn't remember starting a sentence by the time he reached the end of it. Researchers would ask him to count backward from 100, and he'd stop at 65, staring blankly, having forgotten the entire concept of numbers. But the terrifying part wasn't the memory loss. Randy's brain began creating a second reality that ran parallel to the real one. He'd have full conversations with people who weren't there. He'd walk to locations that didn't exist. His eyes stayed open, his body kept moving, but his mind was living inside elaborate hallucinations that felt completely real to him. Sleep researchers had predicted cognitive decline. They hadn't predicted that the sleep deprived brain would start *manufacturing* an alternate conscious experience to fill the gap. Dr. William Dement, the Stanford researcher monitoring Randy, discovered something that changed sleep science forever. The hallucinations weren't random. They followed the exact same patterns as REM sleep dreams, complete with narrative arcs, emotional themes, and symbolic imagery. Randy's brain was dreaming while awake, projecting dream content directly onto his waking perception. The boundary between sleep and consciousness was more than binary. It was fluid, and without sleep to maintain the separation, the two states began bleeding into each other. By day nine, Randy couldn't distinguish between his hallucinations and reality. He became convinced that Dr. Dement was plotting against him. He accused the researchers of being imposters. His paranoid delusions were so convincing that even the people documenting his mental breakdown began questioning their own perceptions. Randy's EEG readings showed something unprecedented. His brain waves were cycling through all four stages of sleep while he remained physically awake and mobile. His neurons were firing in sleep patterns, but his motor cortex kept his body upright and functioning. He had become a walking sleeper, a conscious dreamer, a person experiencing two incompatible states of being simultaneously. When Randy finally slept after 264 hours, he didn't collapse into a coma. He slept for 14 hours and 40 minutes, then woke up completely normal. The hallucinations vanished. The paranoia disappeared. His memory returned. But the Stanford team realized they had documented something extraordinary about human consciousness that nobody talks about. Your brain doesn't need sleep to *function*. Randy proved the human body can operate for weeks without it. What your brain needs sleep for is to maintain the distinction between internal mental reality and external physical reality. Sleep isn't rest for your body. Sleep is a firewall for your mind. Without that firewall, the dream world and waking world merge into a single, indistinguishable experience where hallucinations become as real as the room you're sitting in. Randy recovered completely, but sleep researchers never attempted the experiment again. The ethical implications were too severe. They had accidentally discovered that consciousness is far more fragile than anyone suspected, held together by nothing more than eight hours of unconsciousness every night. Every time you go to sleep, your brain is performing the most critical maintenance operation in human biology. It's rebuilding the wall between dreams and reality. And without that wall, there is no difference.show more

🚨What If Earth's Oldest Civilization Never Left the Ocean?... What if the intelligence behind some UFO didn't actually arrive here from another star system at all? What if it has been here for longer than us, not hiding in the sky, waiting behind the Moon, or crossing the galaxy in the way that we imagine, but living beneath the oceans inside the one part of Earth we still barely understand? For decades, we have been looking up. The cultural image of UFOs is always the same thing with lights in the sky, craft descending through the atmosphere, visitors arriving from space. Even the word extraterrestrial pushes our attention away from Earth. It tells us the mystery must have to come from somewhere else. But what if that assumption is totally wrong? What if the most important part of the phenomenon is not its relationship to space, but its relationship to the oceans? Earth isn't a land planet it's an ocean planet with islands of land breaking the surface. Human civilization developed on those islands, built cities there, drew borders there, fought wars there, launched rockets from there, and then convinced itself it understood the world. But most of this planet is still beyond our direct reach. The deep ocean is dark, pressurized, vast, hostile to our bodies, difficult to map, difficult to monitor, and almost impossible to police in any sort of meaningful way. If there was another intelligence operating here and it wanted to avoid open contact with us, the ocean would be the obvious place to be. But maybe hiding is the wrong word because a civilization that evolved in the ocean would just live there. When we imagine an advanced underwater intelligence as aliens using the sea as a base, as if they arrived from somewhere else and chose the ocean as cover, that could be way off. It could be one possibility, but the stranger theory is that they never arrived at all. They may have emerged here, in Earth's oceans, long before we ever existed. Life on this planet is ancient. For most of Earth's history, land wasn't even the center of the biological story. The oceans held the chemistry, the minerals, the heat, the pressure, the vents, the darkness and the protection. Hydrothermal vent ecosystems already prove that life doesn't even need sunlight in the simple way that we once thought it did. Entire ecosystems can be built around chemical energy rising from the seafloor. That should have changed how we (SETI) think about life, but humans still keep defaulting to our own surface bias. We imagine intelligence as something that crawls onto land, discovers fire, makes tools, builds cities and eventually launches machines into the sky. That is our path but it's not necessarily the only path. An intelligence that evolved in the deep ocean would have faced a completely different set of conditions. It wouldn't begin with fire, because fire is obviously useless underwater. It wouldn't develop metallurgy in the same way that we did, because open flame and smelting are surface technologies. It wouldn't need wheels, roads, walls or conventional buildings as we do. It would evolve inside pressure, darkness, currents, sound, vibration, magnetism, chemistry and geothermal energy. Its entire technological history would be alien to us even if it was native to Earth. So when people dismiss the idea of an ancient underwater civilization by asking where the factories are, where the ruins are, or where the tools are we have to question whether their technology would leave the same signatures ours does. Would they even build like we build? Industrialization may look totally different. A deep ocean intelligence might not construct dead machinery in the way we do. It might grow structures and use biological engineering before mechanical engineering. It might use mineral matrices, pressure systems, acoustic fields, electrochemical processes or living materials. It might not separate biology and technology at all. To us, that would look less like a civilization and more like an environment. A sufficiently old oceanic intelligence may not have cities that resemble human cities. Its infrastructure may be embedded into geology, vents, trenches, caverns, mineral deposits or biological networks. Its power systems may use geothermal gradients, tidal forces, pressure differences, ocean chemistry or field effects we don't yet even understand. Its communications may not use radio in the way we expect. Sound travels really well underwater. Electrical and magnetic sensitivity exists throughout marine life. A technological species born in that world might build an entire science around signals we barely even treat as communication. This would also explain why the UFO subject keeps revolving around water. The ocean appears again and again in the background of the mystery. USOs, transmedium objects, craft entering or leaving the sea, naval encounters, disturbances under the surface, objects tracked over water, and sightings near coastlines and military maritime zones all point toward the same possibility, that maybe water isn't incidental to the phenomenon, maybe it is central. If some UFO are connected to an ocean based intelligence, then what we see in the sky could only be the visible edge of something way bigger. The craft are not arriving from elsewhere in every case. They may be surfacing from their native domain into ours for short periods of time, crossing that boundary between ocean and air the way we cross from land into water with submarines and diving equipment. The only difference is that they appear to do it way better than we do. Human technology is divided by environment, aircraft are built for air, submarines are built for water while rockets are built for space. Each domain creates different engineering problems, so we build separate machines for each one. But UAP don't appear to play by the same rules. That is what makes the transmedium reports so important. If an object can move through water, air and possibly even space without changing its basic behavior, then it might not even be flying or swimming in the conventional sense. It could actually be controlling the interaction between itself and the medium around it. That kind of technology would make sense for a civilization born in the ocean because water is dense. It resists movement, crushes weak structures. It creates drag, turbulence and cavitation. If an intelligence developed vehicles in that environment, it would eventually need to master boundary control, so it would need to reduce friction, manage pressure, avoid destructive wake effects and move through dense fluid without wasting enormous amounts of energy. If that same technology was later used in air, it might appear to us as silent propulsion, impossible acceleration, no sonic boom, no heat plume and no obvious aerodynamic logic. So what looks impossible to us may simply be the result of a technological path that did not begin with wings and rockets. The old black budget explanation doesn't fully solve this problem either. Yes, some triangle craft, drones and experimental platforms may be human and it would be naive to deny that, but human secret technology still has to come from somewhere. If certain platforms show silent hovering, field effects, plasma signatures, extreme acceleration and transmedium behavior, then we are either dealing with a hidden human science far beyond public understanding, or we are dealing with something that we are trying to imitate. That is where the old 'alien reproduction vehicle' idea and the cryptoterrestrial theory start to overlap. Maybe some of what people call black budget technology isn't purely invented, it's most likely adapted from encounters with something already operating here. Going back to what Grusch said earlier, the implications are massive. If there are underwater bases, facilities, habitats or recurring operational zones known to governments, then this isn't just a question of disclosure. There's a sovereignty issue, who controls the oceans? Who has access to the deep sea? Who monitors undersea cables, nuclear submarines, offshore infrastructure, shipping lanes and military testing ranges? If an unknown intelligence can operate in those spaces without permission, then every major navy on Earth has a problem it cannot publicly admit. Scary thought and that may be one reason the subject is buried so deeply (no pun intended). Some people think that secrecy exists because governments don't want to admit aliens are real, but that may only be part of it. The bigger issue here could be that governments don't want to admit they aren't in full control of the planet. There is a huge difference between saying, 'We have evidence of unknown craft,' and saying, 'There may be advanced non human infrastructure in the oceans and we cannot remove it.' That would also explain the change up from UFO to UAP and from extraterrestrial to non human intelligence. Non human is pretty broad lets be honest. It doesn't tell us where they come from, it leaves room for extraterrestrial, interdimensional, post biological, artificial, ultraterrestrial, cryptoterrestrial or native Earth intelligence. That could well be deliberate. Perhaps the people closest to the classified material know the answer isn't as simple as aliens from another planet as Grusch implied in the clip. An ancient oceanic intelligence would also force science to confront its own blind spots. We know intelligent life evolved on Earth at least once because we are here. But we have no law of nature saying it could only happen once, only on land, only recently, or only through primates. Evolution isn't a ladder with humans at the top. It's a branching process with countless experiments, most of which vanished or left traces we don't fully understand. If an intelligent lineage emerged in the ocean and then moved into environments where fossilization, geological preservation and surface archaeology are poor, we probably wouldn't even recognize the evidence even if fragments existed. Ocean crust is constantly recycled through plate tectonics. Seafloor environments are really destructive. Structures can be buried, subducted, corroded, overgrown or mistaken for natural formations. If a civilization was millions or even hundreds of millions of years old, the survival of obvious surface style evidence would be highly unlikely. Even human civilization, after a few million years, would leave less behind than we like to imagine. Plastics, isotopic anomalies, altered sediment layers and some industrial traces might possibly survive, but buildings, machines and cultural artifacts would mostly vanish. So now imagine a civilization that even never built like us in the first place. This doesn't prove anything obviously, but it makes the dismissal less easy. Then there is the question of why such an intelligence would stay hidden. If it is older and more advanced, why not reveal itself? The answer could be as simple as open contact with humans may not benefit it. We are violent, territorial, extractive and unstable. We turn discoveries into weapons as quick as we can. We militarize frontiers, poison ecosystems, test nuclear devices. We drag the deep sea with cables, sonar, submarines, mining ambitions and military hardware. From the perspective of an older oceanic intelligence, humans probably don't look like peers. Instead we look like the dangerous surface species entering an adolescent technological phase that we are. That could explain the strange pattern of UFO interest in nuclear sites, military installations and weapons systems. If an intelligence lives here, our nuclear age is all of a sudden not just our problem. It is a planetary problem. Nuclear weapons, nuclear submarines, nuclear waste, missile systems and military escalation would all be highly relevant to any non human civilization sharing Earth with us. The same would be true of deep sea mining, ocean pollution, climate change, undersea military networks and artificial intelligence. We may think these are all just human issues, but a hidden Earth based intelligence would see them as threats to a shared planetary system. This gives the UAP phenomenon a very different emotional tone. It's not necessarily invasion or salvation. It may be monitoring, containment or quiet intervention when we cross certain lines. It could be an intelligence trying to stay out of sight while still making sure the surface species doesn't burn the house down. The ancient ocean theory also gives a different reading to secrecy. If governments encountered evidence of this, the first instinct wouldn't be public education. It would be containment, map the sites, track the objects and recover materials if possible. Then to build programs around the technology. Keep adversaries away from the data. Use ridicule to suppress leaks. Let the phenomenon remain absurd, because absurdity is an excellent security system. People don't demand answers from something they have been trained to laugh at. That could be why the UFO/UAP subject always feels half visible. There are official hearings, but not the full data. There are whistleblowers, but never the files. There are blurry videos, but not any context. There are pilots, radar operators and military witnesses, but the system keeps absorbing their testimony into classified channels. The public sees fragments while the real pattern remains locked away. As I always say... Disclosure for the few and not the many. If the ocean is actually involved as Grusch and Burchett imply, the missing data may be even more important than the aerial data. We shouldn't only be pressing what pilots saw in the sky. We should be asking what sonar operators heard under the water, what submarines have tracked. We should also be asking what undersea sensors have recorded near restricted zones and whether there are recurring coordinates, depths, magnetic anomalies, thermal signatures or unexplained acoustic events associated with UAP activity. We need to be asking whether naval archives contain the real spine of the phenomenon. The possibility of underwater bases actually changes how we think about disclosure. If the answer is extraterrestrial visitation, disclosure is about humanity's place in the cosmos. If the answer is an ancient Earth based intelligence, disclosure is about humanity's place on its own planet. That is more intimate and more destabilizing to me than E.T. It means the human story is not the only advanced story Earth has produced. It means our myths of ownership, dominance and uniqueness all collapse overnight, suddenly 'we are not alone' applies to home. That might be harder for people to accept than aliens from space. Aliens can leave but a hidden terrestrial intelligence is part of the planet will blow peoples minds. There is also a spiritual and philosophical layer to this. Many ancient cultures contain stories of beings from the sea, underwater kingdoms, gods emerging from water, serpent people, fish like teachers, luminous beings, and hidden realms beneath or beyond the visible world. That doesn't mean the myths are literal history of course, but it is interesting that human cultures repeatedly placed mystery, intelligence and otherworldly contact in the water. The ocean has always been the border between the known and the unknown. Maybe that symbolism came from imagination or perhaps some of it came from encounters filtered through the language of the time. If an older intelligence interacted with early humans, we wouldn't expect ancient people to describe pressure engineered transmedium craft or non human oceanic infrastructure. They would describe gods, spirits, shining beings, dragons, serpents, sky boats, sea people, underworlds and portals. Human language can only describe the unknown through the symbols available at the time. Even now, we struggle. We call them craft, orbs, drones, angels, demons, aliens, ultraterrestrials, interdimensionals. The labels change, but the confusion always stays the same. The ocean theory also sits strangely well with the consciousness aspect of the phenomenon. If an ancient intelligence developed through biology and field sensitivity rather than brute mechanical industry, it may have integrated consciousness into technology way earlier than we could have. We are only now beginning to wonder whether mind, perception and information are more deeply connected to physics than our materialist models allow. An older civilization may have already built that bridge. Its craft, communication systems and interfaces may respond to awareness, intention, emotion or neural patterns in ways that seem impossible to some of us. That would explain why the phenomenon often feels both technological and psychological. It behaves like machinery, but it interacts like intelligence. It appears on sensors, but it also appears in dreams, symbols, synchronicities and personal experiences. Skeptics see that as evidence the whole thing is imaginary. Maybe sometimes it is, but maybe the strangeness is part of the interface. A civilization that understands consciousness as a field related phenomenon would not necessarily separate contact from perception. It might use perception as one of the channels. This is where the theory becomes tricky, because it doesn't allow us to keep the phenomenon safely outside ourselves. If the intelligence is oceanic, ancient, field based and consciousness aware, then contact might not look like radio signals or embassy meetings at all. It could look like sightings, dreams, intuitions, symbolic downloads, altered states, close encounters, military incidents and physical traces all mixed together. That is messy, but perhaps the mess is not a flaw in the data, it could actually be the signature of a phenomenon that crosses categories we invented too recently to trust. All of this having been said, the theory still needs evidence. It needs coordinates, sensor data, sonar records, materials, biological traces, repeatable patterns and testimony that can be checked. However as a framework, it definitely needs more attention than it gets, because it explains why the UAP phenomenon feels close, evasive, ancient and deeply tied to Earth. The extraterrestrial hypothesis asks how they got here, although I have a theory about that. While the ancient ocean hypothesis asks whether they were already here. That is a completely different question. If what Grusch is saying is even partly correct, then disclosure will reveal that human civilization has been sharing this planet with another intelligence all along. Not openly or equally, and not in a way we were ready to understand, but sharing it nonetheless. The oceans would no longer be an empty wilderness. They would become the frontier of the greatest secret in human history. Could that be why the truth has been so hard to release. Because it's one thing to tell humanity there may be life elsewhere, but it's another thing entirely to tell humanity that Earth was never only ours. #UAP #UFO #USO #UAPDisclosure #NonHumanIntelligence #NHI #UnderwaterBases #OceanMystery #Cryptoterrestrial #Transmedium #Disclosure #ufotwitter #uapXshow more
