Apple celebrates its 50th birthday next week, which is... a reminder that “Forrest Gump” has Hollywood’s best angel investment ever: Gump and Lt. Dan early in Apple. They get to Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak before the April 1976 launch and prior to first official $250k check from Mike Markkula, who briefly owned 1/3rd of Apple for his investment. That would value at Apple at $750k. Since Gump and Lt. Dan were unsophisticated shrimp guys instead of tech investors, they probably got pinched on valuation by Jobs and paid $100k for 10% of Apple. That would be worth $180m at the Apple IPO in 1980 ($1.8B market cap). An 1,800x return in 5 years. Gump is a loyal dude so probably sold everything when Jobs was booted in 1985. On the other hand, he thought Apple was a fruit company and is financially illiterate…so Gump is likely still holding that stake, which is now worth $300B+ (my calculator broke trying to figure out the ROI).show more

MLP in PyTorch by hand ✍️ ~ 7 steps... walkthrough below Goal: fill in every blank in the PyTorch code to build a multi-layer perceptron. 1. Given Let us start with a code template on the left and the network it is supposed to build on the right. Every blank in the code can be worked out from the picture. 2. Linear layer We count: 3 features in, 4 features out. So the weight matrix is 4 by 3. There is an extra column for the biases, which means bias = T. 3. ReLU Let us apply the activation. ReLU crosses out the negatives, so -1 becomes 0. 4. Linear layer The input size is 4, because that is what the previous layer put out. The output size is 2. A 2 by 4 weight matrix, and this time no extra column, so bias = F. 5. ReLU We cross out the negatives again. 6. Linear layer Two features in, five out. A 5 by 2 weight matrix, with a bias column, so bias = T. 7. Sigmoid Let us finish. Sigmoid squashes the raw scores (3, 0, -2, 5, -5) into probabilities between 0 and 1. You have just implemented a three-layer deep neural network by hand. ✍️ == Story == Three years ago I gave this exercise to my students, to connect the code to the math. They found it odd. Every other AI course they were taking lived inside a Jupyter notebook, and here I was handing out paper. Three years later, my colleagues are the ones rushing to move their materials to paper. The exercise has not changed. Paper still asks the one thing a notebook lets you skip: do you actually understand what the code is doing? If you can tell me why the weight matrix is 4 by 3, and why bias is F on the second layer, you understand nn.Linear better than someone who has been copy-pasting it for a year. 💾 Save this post! #AIbyHand #PyTorch #DeepLearningshow more

I need to explain something to those followers that... don't get my recent X feed. No altcoin made me $2.5 million in 3 weeks. $RAT did. That's why I focus on it. Bitcoin remains important and I will cover it more in the future. However, right now, there is nothing interesting about BTC moving up and down around 100k. On the other hand, RAT will soon be listed on 8 centralized exchanges. Do you know what that means for a token with a $10 mil market cap? If you don't, that's fine. The TLDR is this. RAT will pump. Simple as that. 10x or maybe 100x. We will find out. This is more exciting than watching ETH crash 20% the other day. Or seeing Solana drop under $200 after I told everyone to sell it at $260. I lost all interest in altcoins. My only altcoin focus is MY OWN TOKEN. The one my community and I love. Because it is OURS! It's not owned by some VC. It's owned by OUR community. Do you understand what I am writing here? Believe in something! RAT Escape is that for us. If you can't see the alpha in this post. I can't help you.show more

What do $Kaspa and $Apple have in common? Apple... wasn’t the first mover in the mobile phone business: Sony, Motorola, Nokia, and others were FAR ahead of them! Yet today, Apple is the market leader (> 20% market share) What makes Apple different? They think different! They built on the shoulders of giants and simplified things in a way their competitors couldn’t. You don’t have to be the first mover! You don’t have to reinvent the wheel. You just need to streamline the solution and customer behavior to the maximum, and you’ll win! The same principle that worked for Apple will now apply to Kaspa. Just as Apple took existing technology and made it more accessible, intuitive, and user-friendly, Kaspa is poised to do the same in its own field. By refining blockchain technology: focusing on speed, scalability and simplicity. Kaspa can take the groundwork laid by earlier cryptocurrencies and elevate it, meeting user needs more effectively than its predecessors. It’s not about being the first; it’s about being the BEST at delivering what people really want. 10bps countdown: ⏳ 34 days to go till 10bps GIGA Thread & Art from KASPArt_Qubicious_Analysis 💪 --> Check him out🫡 If you understand what you're investing in, short-term price fluctuations won't matter to you: • No insiders or VCs • Fair launch • Solves the blockchain trilemma • 2nd biggest Hash rate • Proof-of-Work • Worth $2B without Binance & Coinbase • T1 listings coming soon “Learn” comes before “earn” for a reason. Every time I come to Liverpool Street Station in... London, I’m struck by what a gorgeous Victorian building it is, but how it’s been completely ruined by later interior fittings. Awful barriers, walkways, more barriers, yet more high barriers. It’s as if they had a ton of stuff left over from fitting out an 80s shopping centre and thought, let’s just bung it all in here. There is a redesign coming for this station that will no doubt cost a billion trillion pounds. Well, here’s my idea that will cost a few thousand pounds and be completed in a week: remove every single barrier and walkway. Leave only the original Victorian architecture, because they got it right first go. Alastair Hilton: sorting London’s problems every day.show more

This 80 kg feminist woman says she overcame toxic... religious restrictions and Indian culture by wearing a bikini in front of her family. Why is the empowerment of women all about wearing attire designed by Western men and justifying culture set by Western men? These women are such blind sepoys that they aren't even aware that the bikini was literally designed to sexualize women. Or they are aware of it and still worship them because they are developed nations and have the most influence on the modern world? Are Indian men also to be blamed for Indian women becoming sepoys of Western men? Because Western culture was indeed glorified by simp men in India, who adopted Western attire and culture to sexualize women and benefit from it, in movies, advertisements, etc. Can we ever bring women out of the sepoy mindset that everything Western men do is progressive and everything Indian men do is regressive? You can literally see Western men sexualizing women in yoga pants lol, but they act like the bikini is a modest attire to benefit from it. Will it change if India becomes more self-reliant and focuses on its made-in-India products, culture, etc.? Because native women worshipping foreign men is a big setback to the pride of India. The bootlicking is so insane that now they use the “it's my choice” script given by Western men.show more

This was officially my last MCS tournament of my... career. This play was ruled "play on" because the admin said "we only intervene in critical circumstances, and we decided not to here". For a recap.... Last tournament I legally blocked a kick. Used a designated blocker, got the animation, timed the block, and blocked it. They intervened then and said I had to recreate. Must have been a "critical" moment. Last year I was in quarter 3 of my second round game because my first opponent didn't show up. I was told by an admin my opponent showed up and I had to quit out of my game and replay my first one or I'd be dq'd from the tournament even though my first opponent was 45 minutes late. I have been told by an admin the following... "If its easy to block a fg, just do it again" After I explained my blocked kick was perfectly within the rules, I asked which rule they were abiding by and they said "EA has the right to tell you to recreate, no questions ask" The admins in the MCS tourneys are the most incompetent human beings they could possibly have "running" the tournament. They don't understand the game, they don't interact with people well, they are extremely inconsistent, and they frankly suck at what they do. "We dropped Emma off at college Monday morning. Eight... hours later I came downstairs and found this. Buddy carried every single stuffed animal from her room to the front door. Every one. Her elephant she's had since she was four. The bear from her first Christmas. Every single one. He arranged himself right in the middle of all of them and he hasn't moved. He's 10 years old. He's been her dog since she was seven. I have no words for what I am looking at. I have no words for any of today." My husband thinks Buddy was trying to bring her back. I think he was doing the only thing he knew how to do — gathering everything that smelled like her and bringing it to the place she always comes back to. He did it one by one. All evening. While we sat in a quiet house not knowing what to do with ourselves. He knew what to do. He's 10 years old. His muzzle is going gray. He carried every single one. Emma called tonight to say she's okay. I told her what Buddy did. She was quiet for a long time. Then she said — "Don't move them. Leave them right there. I'm coming home Friday." We haven't moved a single one. Buddy is still in the middle of all of them. Waiting for Friday the way he has always waited for her — completely and without any doubt that she is coming. He has always been right about that. Drop a ❤️ for Buddy. And for every dog waiting by a door tonight for someone who is coming back Friday. They know. They always know.show more

Take it from me, a recent empty nester: The... Good Old Days don’t feel like it at the time. It feels more like hard work and struggle. The days are long but the years fly by. Then, one day you wake up and the house is quiet. One of my most cherished memories is coming home from work each day and opening the creaky back door to our 1947 craftsman home. My 3-year-old daughter (now 21) would drop her toys and run down the hall—her footsteps booming on the old wood floor—to greet me. I love my life and don’t want to go back, but I do wish I could pass one message across time to 35-year-old me: You’re living the Good Old Days right now. Savor every moment.show more
