My "Light Propagation Volume" plugin for #UE5 is now... featuring Cascades system! It adds much longer light bounce distances, than what could be previously seen in the UE4's LPV implementation. Still some work to do, performance-wise as well :) But it's shaping up very nicely.show more

well, didn't die, but i kinda almost did. kinda... scary and it was my first real "wtf I'm not invincible" moment. it honestly messed my head up, I'm still processing it and kinda depressed about it. today was my first day being able to do anything physical at all. I walked for 30 minutes on a treadmill. tomorrow I'll try some very light compound lifts just for movements sake. I'm not ready for anything heavy or a BJJ workout yet. i quit smoking and vaping, but now I'm addicted to zyn. at least my lungs work again though. thanks for all the well wishes and the check ups from my friends here and tiktok 🤙🏻show more

I am currently waiting on grocery pick up and plan to spend the rest of today cleaning and making my home more cozy to ride out the remaining dark winter days. I already have beef stew on the menu and some new candles to light but what are some things ya'll do to feel more.. grounded? I'm impatiently waiting for spring..🌸show more

“In their official police report they *describe* it as... shattered.” ACTUALLLY, Matty Gut, what that says is “tail light to be shattered” i.e. it is going *to be shattered* as soon as they get it back to CPD. And look at Mikey P’s hands shaking 😆 Love that for him 💛 (This is from his June 2025 very successful redemption tour. Just revisiting it for my dissertation about the snow)show more

☀️Very proud of the team for training 5.6! A... few of my highlights: - Great front-end aesthetics. E.g., I asked Sol to make a new blog for 5.6 with a celestial theme. - Much better CUA - Can work for much longer and is less lazy But it's not all great: - The writing quality has improved, but it's still bad in artifacts - Too many options with models/reasoning/fast mode/Cerebras/multi-agent We'll fix the above. What else should we improve? PS: belated post as there are so many other good models to train.show more

SCREW ISLAM It took MUCH LONGER than it should... have but Texas did the right thing in the end. 1. The K-12 reading list has ZERO references to Islam. 2. The Social Studies curriculum will have NOTHING BUT items reflecting the accomplishments of Western Civilization, as well as the truth about Islam and Mohammed’s bloody, murderous tour to try and destroy it for 1400 years (including 9/11). The last item is very significant because the Mohammedans showed up in force for public testimony hearings to push their bullshit - for example, the Alamo was built as a mosque.show more

LEG EXTENSIONS BEFORE SQUATS Here’s why: If you do... your set(s) of Hack Squats BEFORE you do your set(s) of Leg Extensions, you will see a pretty large decline in your output on Leg Extensions….it might be something like 20-25% less than what you could do fresh On the contrary, if you do your set(s) of Leg Extensions BEFORE you do your set(s) of Hack Squats, you will NOT see nearly as large a decline in Hack Squat performance comparatively….the decline in Hack Squat performance may only be 5-10% less than what you could do fresh This is mostly due to the resistance profile/overall demands of each exercise and it’s the main reason I often program Leg Extensions before any sort of Squat pattern on Lower days in my training plans A subtle but GOATED fatigue management play! Me and my Dad spent all day yesterday on... the 3.0D SE X5. 2x Injectors changed, one of which was truly knackered due to (I think) water ingress. Turns out the Swirl flaps had already been deleted which is nice, new gaskets on the injectors and inlet manifold too. Tried to start it as we lost light and the battery was dead 😂 Left it on charge all night, tried this morning before I left for London and it just wouldn’t start. Presumed it was air in the fuel system needing bleeding out but didn’t have time. Got home this afternoon and to say that a decent diagnostic machine pays for itself over and over again is an understatement (Kingbolen K10PRO FYI) Actuated the fuel pump for 5 minutes, then cranked the car for about 20 second where it sparked into life. The Diagnostic machine then wanted me to purge the fuel system for 10 minutes at 2,000RPM which I let it do. Turned the car off and on again and it has ran perfectly, put heating, A/C, heated seats and as much load as I could - still stayed running. It basically hasn’t done that now for a month. Took it up and down the road, got up to national speed limit, all seems fine 😳 Still have a few things do sort to get it through its MOT which is mainly bulbs and a faulty fog light - what should be fairly straight forward things 🤞 then just a cosmetic touch up 🖌️show more

CNN is already teeing it up that the winner... of the governor primary may not be known tonight and election results in California could take “days” or longer. They just gave their viewers an on-air “warning.” CNN: “One warning to anybody watching tonight.” “We’ll get you as much as we can over the next few hours, but we may not know the end result here for days.” “Some people think it could take even longer.” “California is traditionally slow counting its votes.” “And when you have a jungle primary like this, we’ll see what happens...”show more

Sakuga Over The Years (October 2016) KA: Tomohiro Shinoda... (篠田 知宏), China (ちな), Fumiaki Kouta (光田 史亮), Ripa (りぱ), Mitsuru Ishihara (石原 満), Atsuki Shimizu (清水 厚貴), Artist Unknown PV: Flip Flappers (フリップフラッパーズ) OP I’ve highlighted a lot of Kiyotaka Oshiyama’s past work as a key animator and an episode director, but this is his first credit for directing an entire project! A much different work than Look Back, but still a really well animated one. Now while he’s solo animated episodes before, it would obviously be an arduous task to direct and animate every episode himself, but he’s involved practically as much as he can be by storyboarding half of the episodes as well as this OP and the ED and doing some key animation of his own. Now in terms of the OP itself, we’ve got some gorgeous work from a bunch of skilled animators. Now the cuts are very quick, but there’s some really crazy running and background animation both in cut 1 by Tomohiro Shinoda (who has worked a lot on projects that Yoshimichi Kameda is involved in) and cut 4 presumably done by Ripa.show more

While I have premium I definitely want to do... a long post breaking down the main scene from this show that I obsess with. There's so much that I feel could be learned from it. Not just for expansion animators either. There's honestly a LOT that can be learned from how this show directed its expansion scenes that can be applied to even safe for work animations. Obviously yes, the expansion alone is really good. What makes it so good though is just the fact that there's things you pick up on that you likely don't even realize until you re-watch. I'm using this scene as an example as it's not AS good I would say, but it still has a lot going for it. One thing I've always loved from it that I want to use in my own animations someday is that the expansion sort of comes in waves as opposed to one consistent growth. In a way, it makes it feel more natural while also selling how tight the top is getting. It could have been accompanied by showing the knot getting tighter or smaller with each growth. It's a small part of the animation but just that one thing already adds another layer to appreciate. It's not like most expansion scenes where there's very little outside of just "growing" on its own. There's a bunch of little things that subtly improve it without being obnoxious. The first expansion scene has WAY more that I want to talk about honestly. Far more than this one has. It will probably be a really long post now that I think about it...show more

So, you wanna be a big shot, huh? Well,... let me tell you a secret: the key to success is being consistent, even when it's super boring and the results take forever to show up. It's like waiting for paint to dry, but instead of paint, it's your dreams. And, spoiler alert, it's not all sunshine and rainbows - there's gonna be some serious discomfort involved. But, hey, that's where the magic happens, right? The thing is, most people give up because they're not seeing immediate results. They're like, "I did the thing, where's my prize?" Well, let me break it to you: the prize is in the process. Every small step you take, every tiny effort you put in, it all adds up. It's like putting pennies in a piggy bank - it doesn't seem like much at first, but before you know it, you've got a whole lot of pennies. So, here's the deal. If you want to be a great man (or woman, or whatever), you gotta be willing to put in the work. And I don't mean just going through the motions, I mean really putting in the effort. Because, let's be real, the only way to get better is to face the discomfort head-on and keep moving forward. And, hey, don't forget to enjoy the ride. It's okay to take a step back, look at how far you've come, and be like, "Whoa, I'm crushing it!" But don't get too comfortable - there's still a lot of work to be done. Anyway, that's my two cents. Have a great week, I guess. #Web3 #DeFi #Ethereum #StarkNet #Crypto #ETH #Bitcoin #BTC #zycotshow more

🚨 PHYSICISTS JUST SPLIT A SINGLE PHOTON AND IT... TURNED INTO AN IMPROBABLE SWARM OF PARTICLES. In a striking experiment, researchers have shown that a photon can be split apart in such a way that it produces a large number of particles, creating what they describe as a “mixture from zero to infinity.” Instead of the usual clean splitting into two photons (as seen in spontaneous parametric down-conversion), this process generated a complex, broad swarm of particles. The result challenges conventional intuition about how photons behave when pushed into extreme nonlinear regimes. Why this matters: • It demonstrates a rare and complex form of photon splitting that was previously very difficult to observe cleanly • Such processes could help simulate high-energy particle physics in table-top experiments • It opens new possibilities for generating exotic quantum states of light • It provides deeper insight into nonlinear quantum electrodynamics (QED) in strong fields The deeper implication: Photons are usually thought of as indivisible quanta of light. But under the right extreme conditions, a single photon can effectively “break apart” into many particles. This isn’t just a curiosity it touches on fundamental questions about the nature of light and matter, and could eventually lead to new tools for quantum technologies and for studying physics that normally requires particle accelerators. We’re seeing light behave in ways that blur the line between a single quantum and a many-particle system. How do you think being able to controllably split photons into swarms of particles could impact quantum optics or fundamental physics research? Follow for more frontier quantum physics and breakthroughs in light-matter interaction.show more
