The victim, identified as Rijas, a native of Pattambi, died on Sunday evening after the motorcycle he was travelling on was involved in a collision. According to his family, Rijas and a friend had an argument with the occupants of the vehicle involved in the crash around 10 minutes before the incident. Rijas' father alleged that the vehicle occupants, who are reportedly from Tamil Nadu, intentionally rammed the motorcycle following the earlier altercation. The family has submitted a complaint to the Thrissur Rural Superintendent of Police, seeking further investigation into the matter. A woman who was travelling with Rijas reportedly informed the family about the argument that took place before the crash. His father also claimed that police found the occupants of the vehicle to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Dashcam footage and CCTV visuals of the collision have surfaced, and police are examining the footage as part of the investigation.
