Ok, that's amazing. 🦄 A side by side three.js... comparison - with GitMCP and without. GitMCP's story originally started from a tweet by Three.js about their large, non-LLM-digestable, documentation file. Ido Salomon and I ended up creating a cool generic documentation MCP server, but we didn't forget threejs and mrdoob. So we put it to the test. Using GitMCP, I gave this prompt to Cursor + Claude 3.7: "Build a Three.js scene featuring a controllable realistic person navigating a textured dynamic urban environment with realistic lighting and subtle bloom effects. Ensure keyboard controls (WASD) for movement." This is the result. To the right is the one-shot result with our MCP server. To the left is the result without it, based just on Cursor's limited knowledge. The video is pretty conclusive. 🤯 It's really amazing since Cursor already knows a lot about three.js, but with our dedicated documentation MCP server it just outputs better results. And for all other libraries out there - that are not included in Cursor - this is a total game changer. A huge shout out to Cloudflare Developers and Anni Wang, who worked with us yesterday to quickly insert new capabilities in their AutoRAG feature (that enables indexing large amount of documentation) according to our specific needs, and to troubleshoot issues. It was very helpful. Knowledge is power, and that applies for every coding assitant. And not just for three.js! Check out GitMCP for any library you're using - link in the next comment.show more

My brother and I never imagined would grow this... quickly - huge thanks and shoutout to the Tekken community! But, the upsurge of traffic hit us with massive hosting/storage costs we didn't expect. It's just the two of us running and funding this, so if you'd like to support the site (no obligation of course), we've set up a page here: Thank you everyone for visiting our website and using it to lab. It is amazing to have made a meaningful contribution to the community and game we grew up with.show more

OK, So BOOM... I'm working on a lifetime challenge... and I go do the mini shooting challenge with Curry and it's easy af, right!? I use that jump shot a lot but it's not that easy in MyCareer on my player. Full disclosure: I tested this method out on CUSTOM Curry jump shot. The only thing I customized was the speed. I put it to the slowest setting while using release, but that's not what I figured out. If you're a comp player, this isn't for you. If you're already a phenom at shooting, this isn't for you. If you're missing wide open shots, I think this will help you. The basis of the method I started using yesterday is to NOT flick when you go back up on the stick, but to HOLD the stick up in accordance with the release just like your shooting coach told you when you were learning to shoot at any level. All 26 I was conditioned to just flick the flick and I would flick the stick FAST. It didn't matter in 26. This year, I tried the same thing and I would consistently brick shots in every mode, especially 1v1 which is my bread and butter. Not yesterday! I played all day using this method and I only had two bad shooting games. On everything, this shit changed everything including my confidence to shoot despite the closeout from a defender. All I wanted to do yesterday was shoot so I could test this out. I'm not a content creator so I don't have any clout. I'm just trying to help out the regular people. The videos in MyCourt show the first shot using the flick method and then the next 3 shots are using the rhythm shooting hold method. One video is from the left side and the next from the right side. I have a ton of videos, because like Splash said yesterday, regular dudes clip everything. I'm a purple plate most days and yes, I clip everything when I find something new 🤣 I hope this works for some of you out there, if not, I'm happy to jump in the lab with you.show more

I always wondered "What if I port my three.js... game to Rust? Will it improve performance?" I finally ported it to both Rust Desktop and Rust WASM (that runs on the browser) Comparing the three.js version with the Rust desktop I had a clear winner: Rust desktop. But now I took the time to port it to the web using Web Assembly (WASM) And my conclusion is... A tie! Both versions averaged 42FPS (60FPS if running one at a time) So if your goal is to ship a web game, it doesn't even matter the tech you use. (Three.js is recommended because the ecossystem is huge though) As long you optmize well (Web workers, reduce triangles, draw calls, etc) you should be good to go. But in the event you want to ship a native game to publish on Steam a system language (Rust, C++, etc) will be better for you. Now I want to port the three.js game to Desktop using Electron and see the results. I'll let you know. Btw, I'm open to new freelance projects. If you have anything for me, my DMs are open!show more

I am splitting time between Godot & Unity but... took a detour to see what the threejs hype was about. Was able to put together a 2.5D system pretty quickly with some of our 2D pipeline for a demo. Godot and threejs side-by-side same assets. Cave + Bridge scene is threejs. Idea on this one was a group of knights having to take back a world from evil with only their shields. All the swords flew up into the sky, suspended by something. Not in my usual style but really dig the lighting in threejs, scenes came together really quickly. The shield throw ended up going into the Moki demo as a leaf throw. Which one looks better?show more

I asked Fable to build a realistic AAA water... simulation with Three.js to see if I should quit my job. 500k tokens later, I'm disappointed. Almost the same exact slop you get with Opus. (Fable on left, Three.js Water Pro on right). Good results still require taste, deep knowledge of the problem domain, and a lot of patience.show more

I've been pondering something... My end goal with my... city simulator is to publish it on Steam. I was planning on using Three.js for prototyping and then porting this over to Unity to take advantage of ECS/Burst. But then I realized I could probably port all of the simulation code from TypeScript to Rust if I wanted to make it ultra-fast. And then I can continue to use Three.js for the renderer and then embed it into an Electron app. Is that a dumb idea? What pitfalls are there with this approach? Curious what people's experience publishing games using Electron has been.show more

Okay this is really cool. Codex app has a... new feature that is really useful. Highlight any text, and you'll notice a new popup. "More Details" uses GPT 5.5 Instant to explain in more detail about the highlighted portion of your text, allowing you to understand the reasoning/concept/statement/etc in greater detail. What's interesting about this versus a side chat is that it's instantaneous, and still retains context from the thread. With /side chat, you'd have to type out a prompt "what are the details on this?" With "more details" the prompt is implicit and the response is instantenous Very nice feature, as I'm always making side chats/branches to expand/learn/understand agent outputs better.show more

ok first impressions of claude 3.7 sonnet max on... cursor VERY good at planning out your project first - seems to have way more of an understanding of the codebase i had it whip up a set of instructions to create a cursor rules tool that lets you mix/match and output in the format you want (including .cursor/rules/{rule}.mdc, .windsurfrules, .clinerules and legacy .cursorrules) still struggled with new versions of packages and i need to riff on the ui but this is impressive and i'll be using it more to plan features with!show more

I am grateful for life in this beautiful world.... Gratitude for existence means living with dignity — creating and doing good for those close to us, for ourselves, and for others. : Gratitude for life in this beautiful world is not a fleeting sentiment. It is a profound orientation that reshapes how we live. To truly feel thankful for existence is to recognize its rarity and splendor, and to respond by living with dignity. That dignity shows itself in deliberate creation and goodness. We make things of beauty and utility. We ease suffering and spread joy. We do this first for those closest to us, then for ourselves (because self-respect is part of the gift), and finally for strangers, because the circle of care widens naturally when gratitude is genuine. Gratitude without action is hollow. Action without gratitude is mechanical. Together they form the quiet engine of a meaningful life. The beautiful world gave us the miracle of being here. The only fitting return is to make our corner of it more beautiful still, through every choice that honors the gift. In a cosmos indifferent to our existence, gratitude becomes our quiet rebellion. We answer silence with purposeful light.show more

Many of us in Silicon Valley, especially those active... on platforms like X/Twitter, might think that everyone knows about ChatGPT and has used it at least once. But, this is not true. In my travels and online discussions, I've seen that most people still don't know about things like ChatGPT. There's a real need to close this gap in knowledge. My own kids, who are 6 and 9 years old, are using AI with me all the time. They are having a lot of fun, and learning a lot from it. At the same time, many people around the world don't even know it exists or what it can do. This is not just surprising; it shows we need to do something. To help with this, my colleague Kalkidan Betre and I started an Applied AI course at ALX Africa. The first project in this course is about making deep fakes and video refacing. The video you see here has been made by one of our student James. This project is more than just for learning; it opens the door to seeing how easy and accessible AI is. You don't have to be great at math or know anything about programming to get into AI. It's really as easy as clicking a mouse, showing how simple it is to make deep fakes today. This project also deals with important ethical questions. Some people who haven't tried the project were surprised we started with something so controversial. But that's exactly why it works well. The project highlights being responsible and ethical, which helps students understand the big impact and responsibility of using AI. It's a good way to start a deeper conversation about AI, a conversation that's needed for people to think critically and be aware, especially when digital media and fake news are everywhere. Using AI tools hands-on is key. Without this, you can't understand how powerful and accessible these AI tools are. Students who have done the first project are now starting to get it. They're learning to think more about and question the media they see online. Growing this kind of thinking and awareness is crucial. To really get how powerful and fast-changing AI is, you have to use it yourself. It's a strong, amazing tool that keeps evolving. I hope to quickly grow our program, as I feel we have a big responsibility in this new industrial revolution. It's important that everyone understands AI, its potential for good, and all the questions it creates for us. If we don't share this knowledge widely, the gap between those who have and those who don't will get much bigger. AI is starting a new revolution, and it's very important that we include everyone.show more
