We’ve brought in huge numbers of low-skilled people who didn’t grow up with our language, and instead of proper assimilation we just let it all mix. Now the clear, straightforward English that used to get passed down through families and proper schooling is getting diluted. Kids pick up whatever’s around them on the street and online, and it shows and it’s definitely coming from gang culture and rap music. This isn’t harmless evolution. It’s what happens when you change the makeup of a country fast without caring if the basics like speaking our own language properly.
