The secret is steamed honey asian pear! Steaming Asian... pear with jujube, goji berries, and honey is a common home remedy for coughing in many Chinese households. Asian pear, known in traditional Chinese medicine for its cooling and hydrating properties, is believed to clear heat, moisten the lungs, and stop stubborn coughs. It’s particularly effective for easing throat discomfort, reducing phlegm, and clearing mucus, making it a go-to remedy for persistent dry or irritating coughs. The warm, sweet broth feels like a comforting hug, bringing both healing and relief. This simple yet powerful remedy embodies the wisdom passed down through generations, perfect for the cold and flu season. Even without a cold, this nourishing dessert is enjoyed as a popular sweet soup, and you can find versions of it at night markets as a comforting treat during cold winter months. Steamed Honey Asian Pear Ingredients: • 1 Asian pear • 3 jujubes • 1 tsp goji berries • 1/2 tsp raw honey Steps: 1. Thoroughly wash the Asian pear. (Optional: Scrub with coarse sea salt.) Pat dry with a paper towel. 2. Cut off the top of the pear and set it aside. 3. Scoop out the center core using a spoon, being careful not to puncture the bottom. 4. Place the pear in a heatproof bowl. Fill the hollowed center with jujubes, goji berries, and honey. Place the pear top back on. 5. Steam over medium heat for 30 minutes, or until the pear is soft and fork-tender. Enjoy!show more
