A very interesting theory someone brought to Jon Bray's... attention is that this van in the parking area where Charlie ends up getting carried to after he is damaged pops the trunk just seconds before the shooting. Apparently acoustic analysis of all sounds at that time support that a real shot was fired from the rooftop area into the back of this van and that possibly a detonation was triggered by the sound. My son won the Cousin’s Persimmon Club challenge at... Rockford CC at dusk and the cash prize of $100. I mocked Jackson for opting for a 9 iron on the first tee shot (playing 370 yards). He hit 9 iron, 9 iron, wedge to 3 feet and a putt for par. Some pretty good golf considering he just started playing again and he had never played persimmons and blades.show more

One year ago today, Charlie was at a pro-life... event in Visalia, California, where a packed house turned out to hear him speak. Charlie didn’t just speak on college campuses. He was constantly on the road speaking at churches, rallies, conferences, practically anywhere that he could further the conservative movement, preach the gospel, and inspire people to fight for liberty. He was relentless in the pursuit of people. At that same event, Charlie and I spent over an hour backstage with Isabel Brown . Most of that time was spent talking about Christ, the Bible, the Church, and faith. There was something different about him that day in Fresno. He was usually running from one thing to the next and rarely took the time to just sit and talk. But that day, he seemed calm and content. He talked endlessly about his love for the Lord and his desire to know everything He could about His Savior. The three of us discussed the mysteries of the faith and the questions that we wished we had the answers to. And now, I can’t help but think that Charlie is finally experiencing the answers to all those questions we sat there wondering about together. Charlie lived out his faith courageously, and he died at the peak of it. What a blessing it is to be able to say that about someone. I just picture him talking with the Lord now, even more calm and content than he was that day in California.show more

"We do adoption events every month. Yesterday was our... biggest one. Forty-two dogs found homes. It was a wonderful day. Winston did not find a home. He is eleven years old. He is large. He is silver-gray and his whole muzzle is white and his eyes are the color of a winter morning and he is the gentlest dog I have ever put on a leash. He sat in the same spot for six hours. He did not pace. He did not bark. He watched every dog around him get chosen and he wagged his tail for every family that walked past him without stopping. Every single one. For six hours. At 5pm when the last family had left and the last car had pulled out of the parking lot I turned around and Winston was sitting at the edge of the empty lot wagging his tail at the space where the people had been. I sat down on the asphalt beside him. I put my hand on his silver back. He leaned into me. I don't have a word for what I felt. I have worked in rescue for nine years. I have never sat on a parking lot asphalt at the end of a failed adoption event and felt so completely undone and so completely certain simultaneously. Undone because he deserves everything. Certain because he is going to be okay. Both at the same time. Both because of him. He wagged at the empty parking lot. That is who Winston is. That is who he has been every day of his eleven years. Real Club Valderrama hosted its first event on the... LIV Golf League in 2023 and has been a staple on the schedule since. The GM, Javier Reviriego, says they are very happy with their partnership and they will be looking to renew their contract when it’s up next season. Speaking to Flushing It Golf, Javier said: “We're very happy. I mean, for us, the event has been great, giving us a lot of visibility. “The best thing is to have these great players here. I mean, these players, we would have never dreamed of having them here in a DP World Tour event. That's a fact. “And we couldn't dream of bringing a PGA Tour event to Spain because I don't think that was ever going to happen either. So, we wanted this quality of players, and there was no choice, really.” LIV Golf Andalucía is just 5 weeks away and the build out is currently going up all over the course, with a huge hospitality area on the bank behind the 17th green striking an imposing presence. Advertising boards promoting the event greet arrivals at Gibraltar Airport and they are in the process of thickening the rough to make the course as challenging as ever. Javier says he has spoken to league executives who assure him it’s business as usual and Valderrama are even considering some renovations to the golf course to help improve the venue for future years. Their contract with LIV Golf ends after the 2027 season, and Javier says they are looking to renew and would be “happy to continue the relationship.” The LIV Golf League returns to Valderrama on June 4th as Talor Gooch aims to defend and win the title for the 3rd time in 4 seasons.
