Posting this again for everyone to see exactly what... Khaldoon was talking about. All of a sudden, a Tottenham fan has decided to blame Manchester City for failures that happened ON THE PITCH. This is precisely the kind of diversion Khaldoon warned about. When clubs fail to compete, fail to recruit properly, or make poor decisions, the easiest thing to do is point at City and make us the explanation for everything. Khaldoon knew this would happen. And here we are.show more

My wife constantly tells our kids to try new... things and don’t worry about the results. “If you’re going to fail, fail spectacularly.” Good thing they listen to one of us and go for it, regardless of what might happen. This is absurdly cool.show more

Happy Monday….I took down my post yesterday about this... because sometimes it’s better to see a video than to read words on a screen. This is another reason why they want to muffle Harbaugh. He’s advocating for the players that make the system what it is. He wants kids to share in the revenue that they help to generate. This isn’t the conversation that anyone in collegiate sports want to hear. Kids aren’t aware of what all of the system entails economically and they dont know all of the moving parts. Harbaugh understands and he can help to champion the cause while educating kids who wouldn’t necessarily have the experiences or resources to “get it”. This statement should make him a hero to all future, current and former players. All you have to do is ask yourself “would my coach ever advocate for us like this, has my coach ever advocated for me like this and what would make someone take a stand like this?” S/O Errol for the video and Nate Ortiz for the edit 🫡show more

Recently there was increased discussion about DMCA takedown requests... being used in bad faith between competitors on Shopify. I can confirm that the volume of these has very much increased recently. Let me give you some examples of what we are doing about it. Our goal is to work within the DMCA’s framework and make a system in which the right things happen quickly. We want to give merchants the maximum time to respond with the minimum disruption. We also need legitimate claims to resolve in favor of the claimants quickly. The first thing we did recently is to productize this properly. We shipped a feature to manage these cases directly in the Shopify admin to make it a lot more obvious. Before that a lot was managed through form emails. This process is now much simpler and faster. The second thing we did is to make the identity system more robust so that we know more about the claims filed. We consider the claimants previous cases in order to decide what decisions to take. Similarly we consider documentation from previous cases that merchants had to deal with more strongly to make accurate decisions when repeat claims are received against products. If we detect bad faith claims from accounts we take action. We recently filed multiple lawsuits against claimants in court. This matches our aggressive stance when we see frivolous or bad faith patent action in which we had a lot of success invalidating bad patents. The end result of this is that we catch spammy or frivolous claims at much higher frequency already. We also make responding to cases much easier and this can be managed directly from the admin now and is less work for the merchants. Lots of additional improvements coming- but what I can guarantee you is that that Shopify will be the worst platform on which to make fraudulent DMCA claims on. “Be merchant obsessed” is a core value here, and we reflect that better in this area.show more

This is a formal warning to the City of... Chicago City of Chicago and to the entities that operate Daley Plaza Daley Center, Public Building Commission and Transwestern. The Serbian community has deep roots in this city since its earliest days. Chicagoland is home to the largest Serbian community outside of Serbia and the Balkans. We are a huge, longstanding, and proud community in this city and we will not accept being disregarded or insulted. Without any consultation with our community, a decision was made to raise the flag of the terrorist and criminal “Republic of Kosovo” at Daley Plaza. This is an occupied territory that remains deeply painful for the Serbian people as this land is the centerpiece of our religion, culture and identity. For our community, this act is not symbolic or fun, it is a political statement that directly insults us. This action is unacceptable. If this terrorist flag of so called Republic of Kosovo is raised again in our city without dialogue or consideration of our community, you should expect a highly visible public protest at levels you’ve never seen before. We demand that this issue be addressed immediately. Engage with our community. Show respect for the people who have built this city. Do not repeat this mistake. Do not think to insult us like this ever again.show more

When I first joined Rayadas I didnt know what... it will mean for me as a player! I knew it would be a place I could compete for titles, but I never knew how the passion for this institution would change me as a player. Over the years I learned what it meant to put on this jersey! The people in this city and my team taught me. I feel exactly what the people feel! The love and passion is indescribable, and when you step onto that field you feel it. The people in the stadium make you feel it, and it’s honestly one of the best feelings in this world! That’s why we fight until the very end, because we have a responsibility to represent everything this institution stands for!🙏🏾 #creersiemprecreershow more

Enzo Fernández’s long-time partner, Valentina Cervantes, was asked during... an exclusive podcast appearance about the possibility of Fernández moving to Manchester City or staying at Chelsea in the current transfer window. Host:🎙️Your fiancé is currently being linked with a move to Manchester City. Do you think that would be the better option for him, or should he stay at Chelsea? 🗣️ “Look, at the end of the day, that decision is strictly his and his representatives' to make. But personally, I really wish he would leave England and go to Spain or Italy. The tension he had with England fans during the World Cup is still affecting things, and honestly, I don't think that's going away anytime soon. The English media and even Chelsea fans don't seem to respect him the way they should. And to be honest, I don't see that changing if he moves to Manchester City either. For me, leaving England altogether would be the best thing for him a fresh start where he can just focus on his football and be appreciated again."show more

🚨 Khusanov on why he reportedly refused to sign... a Real Madrid shirt while already playing for Manchester City 🩵👀 I have a lot of respect for Real Madrid. They are one of the biggest clubs in football, and I respect their history and everything they have achieved. But I am a Manchester City player. When you wear this shirt, you represent the club, the fans, and your teammates. My focus is here, and my loyalty is to the badge I am wearing. For me, it was simple. I didn’t want to create any unnecessary headlines or give people the wrong impression. I am proud to be a City player, and I want to build my own story here. Football is about respect, but it is also about knowing where you belong. 🩵🔥 Khusanov said NO to the Madrid shirt. ❌🤍 Take notes, Rodri. 👀😭show more

Via Laudium Ward Councillor, Naeem Patel City of Tshwane... Cilliers Brink Tshwane Metro Police The illegal tap at the council ablution block at the CBD, was reported to the City of Tshwane on numerous occasions, to various departments. It was reported more than a year ago to TMPD at a community meeting. It was also reported to the City Manager's office, Group property, the then MMC of Finance Peter Sutton, MMC for Utilities Temba Fosi and the water and sanitation department. Each department promised to have the tap removed but two years later, still nothing. People from outside the ward are using this tap on weekends for their homes and business uses. Taxis use this tap to wash their vehicles. The overflow of this water is going to cause a sinkhole. As usual, complaints are falling on deaf ears and the City of Tshwane continues to fail its residents. Today, once again, it was brought to our attention by Yusuf Abramjee. We hope that with his intervention the City will act and remove this illegal tap. Laudium Today™ CWRAshow more

Today is the one-year anniversary of Colossus going into... print Some things you might find interesting about year one… - to kick off issue one, I was scheduled to see Graham Duncan in California, and I planned to ask him if he’d do this experiment with us as the first cover story. The day before I left, my team decided to make a mock physical magazine with him on the cover. That was fun to deliver. Graham trusted us to do two things we’d never done before (write a profile, and make a magazine). He was so patient and kind to us all. - everyone (I mean, everyone) told us this was a stupid idea. “A…magazine?!” The best opportunities seem like bad ideas but are good ideas. Seemingly bad ideas have very little competition. It seemed bad because most magazines are dead or dying. But it was good because people are craving things which are detailed and hard to make as we enter the slop era of content. Now we are wondering “what’s even harder to make?” - obsession is the most important attribute of a good story for Colossus: a writer obsessed with a subject, writing about a subject who is obsessed with something else. Or a writer obsessed with a topic on everyone’s mind, which hasn’t yet been fully explored. So excited to see what year two has in store, and to share some of the projects already in the works. Thanks for reading and for telling your friends.show more
