He was the ultimate gentleman and scholar. What exemplifies Darren more than anything, I think, is when his crypto got hacked a couple months ago and he lost almost everything; his first instinct was to post about how it happened so that no one else would make the same mistake. That was his nature. Darren had great enthusiasm for privacy and liberty. He educated people, including me, about privacy, defi, and above all, Liberty. He never wavered from those ideals for a quick buck (and he had many opportunities). He brought a lot of people into this space with his well-researched videos and commentary. Wrapped up #Haiwaan a few days ago.. A film... we shot in between all this fun and games. This was a set where you’re just having fun while doing what you love. And that really comes down to the people. Working with Priyadarshan sir was a lesson in clarity. A man who has directed 99 films, his experience brings so much calm and precision to set..it’s amazing to watch someone who knows exactly what he wants, every single day. Saif sir is just constant laughter between takes. Wicked sense of humour, stories that keep everyone entertained… and then the moment it’s “Action,” there’s a switch. Focused, effortless, completely in the zone. And finally Akshay Kumar sir! what a joy. His discipline, punctuality, and dedication to work is unmatched. I’ve never seen someone bring so much energy, fun and complete dedication to a set. Every day with him on set was a reminder of what professionalism really looks like. A Khiladi is born only when one puts in this kind of hard work! So much to learn from him! I’ve grown up watching all three of them, so being a small part of a film with them feels incredibly special. What made it even more special was that our last day of shoot was at St. Xavier’s a place where I learnt so much about life. Ending this journey there felt like life coming a full circle. “That was fun, but not as fun as tackling... people.” Preston Lobliner had these words of wisdom after his first day of kicking camp with James Wilhoit. Without any training, he was the only kid in his league last year who could kick extra points, and that was HUGE since they are worth 2 points since nobody does it. With Middle School Football upon us, we are excited to see him contribute to his team as an accurate and powerful kicker and an all out DAWG on offense and defense. This was 30 yards, and after this camp and learning how to actually kick, I expect to hit 40+ by the time the season hits. Also the best news ever for us, he is starting back in wrestling next week daily after injuring his elbow at practice the day after winning state so we will start working on that 3rd state championship! Video evidence in the second frame shows that the man was holding onto the neck of her dress and pulling it towards himself; a dress with a low neckline, which means that by pulling it away from her, he exposed her breasts to full public view. Anyone with a height higher than that neckline would have a clear view of that girl's breasts. That same video evidence shows that all the girl did initially was try to get his hands off her dress, and only swung at him and pulled his own clothing when he refused to let go. My ordinary grocery "Meat Markdown" hunt was delayed by... a Pharmacist as I walked into the store. He was standing at a display table & announced, "If you schedule 2+vaccines for the same visit we are giving a dozen doughnuts for free as a thank you for getting your preventive shots." He handed me a list of available vaccines while he held a clip board with a signup sheet. He smiled & nodded, then said if I transferred my Prescriptions, I could get the dozen doughnuts as a thank you also. I took a deep breath & smiled. I thanked him again & said, " I don't have any Prescriptions to transfer." He said, "we can call your Dr & have them transferred." Still smiling....I said, "There's none to transfer sir." He appeared puzzled & clarified, "you're not on any meds? Can I ask how old you are?" I shared, "I used to take more than 15 Medications, but I've healed those conditions. And of course you can ask, I am 54." He hesitated a few seconds & finally said, "I've never met anyone our age on no Meds, I'm on 5." Instead of just talking about it, I wanted to... go through it and really break it down to figure out the exact reason for the difference in Jalen Duren's play between the regular season and the playoffs. *LONG BREAKDOWN COMING* First, lets list how much the difference was: Iso in RS: 82nd %ile Iso in PS: 21st %ile Post-ups in RS: 88th %ile Post-ups in PS: 59th %ile PPP on drives in RS: 1.18 ppp PPP on drives in PS: 0.80 Layups in RS: 79th %ile Layups in PS: 19th %ile It was a staggering drop off. Shocking to many of us who watched him all season. So, what happened? Well, #1 I think mentally he was letting his struggles get to him and he started to play out of control. Something that suggests this to me is this stat: He started to figure some things out himself in isolation over the last 2 games against the Cavs. He had six isolation possessions in the final two games against the Cavs; he scored on five of those possessions and drew a foul on the other. Game 6 he started to look confident and really made them pay out of isolation. I really think a ton of it was he got hit with a punch early against ORL and really struggled to handle the pressure and struggles after, and just kept stacking and stacking. So, him being in his own head is #1 for me. #2: His handle got exposed quite a bit. In the regular season, he only had a 4.2 TO% in isolation, which is incredible. In the playoffs, though, that spiked to 20 TO%. On drives in the RS, he had a TO% of 4%. In the PS, it jumped to 13.3%. The first clip below shows how the right-to-left cross he loved doing all season was really taken away from him. Too loose of a handle, and he often got his pocket picked trying this exact move over and over. I think having his go-to move taken from him shook him a bit and left him scrambling a bit in his head to find a counter. The second clip shows, imo, him starting to lose trust in his handle. He immediately turns his back to the defender, which is what you do when you're worried about losing the ball. But, even then, he loses control of the handle and it ends up in a turnover. If I'm the Pistons, I'm showing all his turnovers due to his handle and working with him on tightening his handle and also helping him get comfortable with a counter/second move so defenders don't just sit on the right-to-left cross. #3: I think he really struggled to adjust to the playoff whistle. In the regular season, he drew free throws on 21% of his isolations and 31% of his post-ups. In the PS, it dropped to 14% and 11%, respectively. There were many possessions where in the RS he would've got free throws, but did not in the PS and he was frustrated. In the third clip, you'll see how physical he was being played by Mobley (which we all want physicality in the game). But, in the RS, he probably is getting FTA's here. There are many examples of this where it felt like a lot of his value during the RS was being able to draw FTA's on his drives, and in the PS, refs just allowed more physicality, and he struggled to deal with it. #4: Ausar-Duren duo. I believe in this duo, and I do not think this was the main reason Duren struggled. However, I am not blind to the fact that there were obviously some possessions that hurt Duren. In the regular season, Duen actually got less efficient when Ausar wasn't on the floor. However, in the playoffs, Duren went from 51 TS% with Ausar on the floor (302 minutes) to 64 TS% with Ausar off the floor (121 minutes). In the 4th clip, you really see how the lack of spacing caused a tough shot from Duren. He gets a step on WCJ going right, and probably would prefer to then just use his strength to create spearation. However, he sees Suggs sitting in the right gap off of Ausar, which forces him to spin left. Once he spins left, Paolo is completely leaving Tobias open. This is one of the reasons I really think DET needs a spacing 4 because this should be an easy kickout from Duren to a shooter. He still should've made this pass to Tobias, but a legit shooting 4 I think would relocate to the corner and make an easier outlet/easier to see for Duren. But, he still coulda made the pass, tbf. Either way, you see how the lack of spacing from both Ausar and Tobias forced Duren into a really awkward drive where he was forced into an extremely tough shot. I think if the passing returned from Duren, some of these situations wouldn't happen. Hitting Ausar early as he cuts into the space would work, or hitting Tobias (who again shoulda be making himself more available) beyond the arc results in better offense. But, also, having better spacing probably allows Duren to just get to his original move once he beats WCJ off the dribble. and lastly #5: He really just didn't play well. I can't include any more clips (I'll put some in the immediate thread reply to display), but he really just didn't play well. Missed *a lot* of looks we're used to him making. His touch around the rim left him, looked like he really felt rushed in the paint. He was struggling to secure rebounds after dominating the glass all season (during the RS, he averaged 4.3 second chance points a game, in the PS it dropped to 2.3). During RS, he had a 22.0 DREB%, which dropped to 16.0% in the playoffs. So, I think a lot of factors played into why he struggled so much in the playoffs. My takeaway is I don't think these things are unfixable; actually, I think they're very fixable. Experience of dealing with what playoff physicality is I think is going to help moving forward. All young players have to adjust to that--I think Cade really learned that from NY series to this playoff run. Tightening his handle and just having a second move to go to is not something that should be considered impossible. I'd like to believe it's pretty likely with how much he works and the raw skill he already has with his handle. Pistons adding a legit spacer at the four I think solves a lot and will make Duren's life a lot easier. The most concerning part is mental. And we won't know an answer to that until the next playoffs. Did this experience help him on his journey towards becoming mentally strong and prepared enough to move forward? Did this run help him find a routine that helps him lock in mentally, as many players have said they had to discover? Or will the pressure from struggling last postseason get to him this upcoming postseason? Will he let mistakes get into his head, compound them, and start playing rashly? I don't think the second option will be the case, but no one will know until the next postseason. Honestly, I'm more concerned and critical of his defense in the playoffs (which at times was pretty good and at other times was an incredible struggle), but that would require its own thread. My ending thoughts: I still very much believe in Duren. This playoff run showed he has areas he must sharpen up and learn from, but at 22 that shouldn't be a shocker. He is incredibly talented and made a large jump during the RS. The PS posed challenges he didn't quite have answers to yet. But another run of experience, another offseason of training, and another year older should lead him down a good path. I am fully supportive of paying Duren and extending him. I am not at close to 50 million dollars. 35-40 million is where I think they'll settle on, and I'm fine with that. But, he's gotta learn from these playoffs! Every offseason he's gotten better, I don't have a reason to believe Jalen Duren won't learn and improve again this summer. He's only 22.show more

She said she does this to regulate his mood and energy, to build discipline to let him know fun comes after the effort, not the other way around, and, it reduces arguments - you work first and then play later, the expectations are set. Many people focused on his walking around the neighborhood by himself but she says she lives in a neighborhood where she feels very comfortable. A lot of people applauded her for making her son get outside, that it was not only healthy for his body but for his mind as well. She said this is not a punishment. I think kids in this day and age need to be forced to get outside. Too many of us allow them to stare at screens all day long. I applaud her for her routine with her son. Charlie Kirk’s death has been celebrated like nothing I’ve... ever seen. I’ve always been moderate, and I’ve criticized Charlie Kirk openly in the past. But this isn’t about whether you agreed with him politically. It’s about the sickness in our culture that now treats a horrific tragedy as entertainment. Younger people especially seem disturbingly unempathetic. The sheer volume of videos and posts celebrating his death—with hundreds of thousands of likes—shows how far things have slipped. The left has fostered a culture where open violence isn’t just tolerated, it’s cheered. Ask yourself this: if Obama or Kamala were gunned down, does anyone really believe the right would react the same way? People were celebrating Charlie’s Death in the streets across the country the literal day he died. Republicans aren’t spotless, I realize this. When two Minnesota politicians were executed, there were a handful who celebrated—but they were condemned across the board. That’s the difference. On the left, this kind of behavior is brushed aside, amplified, even mainstreamed. As someone younger, I’ve watched my generation lose its grip on empathy. Older people say, “It’s like they don’t even care about his family or his children.” And they’re right. Universities and our wider culture have taught kids to disregard faith, family, and any higher sense of responsibility. The result is a generation of detached, selfish people who treat death like a meme. I don’t mean to paint with a broad brush, I know young, left-leaning people who are compassionate. When these Housemates sit down and talk about their lives, their families, their relationships, their struggles and their experiences, Yusuf is allowed to talk about his own life too. If your life has been easier, beautiful. If you have had opportunities Yusuf didn't have, beautiful. If you didn't have to struggle for certain things, you are blessed. But please don't assume that because you didn't experience something, somebody else must be lying about experiencing it. Yusuf has spoken about where he comes from because it is part of his story. He has spoken about the struggles, the sacrifices, the auditions, the doors that didn't open and the few that finally did. He even spoke about getting an audition with Ruth Kadiri in March and how that opportunity became significant in his journey. He isn't saying he suffered the most. Beware of Collins: How a "Friend" Scammed Me and... 9 Others I am writing this to warn everyone in the Web3, Monad, Solana, and Nigerianad communities. There is a person among us named Collins (known on X as Collins) who acts like a kind, active community member, but he is actually a professional scammer. He has stolen over $1,500 from me and has done the same to at least 9 other people. Collins used a very clever strategy to steal our money. He started by being very active in our local Nigerian Telegram groups. He called himself a "Solana Maxi" and always posted screenshots of big wins making people think he was making $5,000 or $7,000 from trading. We didn't know it was all a "format" just to get our attention. I did not trust him at first. However, we started organizing Lagos State meetups. When I met him in person, he was always smiling and happy. He acted like a brother. Seeing his face in real life made me lower my guard. If we had stayed just "online friends," I would never have sent him even $1, but because of those physical meetings, I thought he was real. His scam started when he told me about a "special developer" launching a token. He claimed he had an insider connection and that we could make 5x or 10x our money. He asked me to contribute $2,000. I told him I didn't have it. A few days later, he came back and begged me not to miss the "update." I decided to try with $1,000. To make me trust him completely, he played a long game. When I asked for a refund a week later because I had an emergency, he sent the $1,000 back immediately. This was his biggest trick. It made me believe he was 100% honest. Soon after, he showed me more fake wins on X and told me another project was going live on December 22nd. Because he returned my money the first time, I trusted him and sent the $1,000 back to him. When the date came, he claimed the "dev postponed the listing." While I was waiting for that money, he came with another "emergency" project, asking for another $1,000. I told him I only had $500 left my last card. He took that too. Then the excuses started. He claimed he went to the village to see his parents and that the network was bad. I doubt it's the same video that we both... watched. Let's actually micro-analyse this since you wanna. Frame 1: 1) That girl was taking forward steps towards her camera when he reached out and nudged her. "Excuse me" would have been enough. Why did he have to nudge her? Also, watch his step count and the angle of his body to his hand, and you'd realise that he had enough space to pass in that very moment. 2) She said, "Can you imagine." I didn't hear the part of "who does he think he is"; but even if she did say that, since when did "who does he think he is" become a crime deserving of harassment? 3) Remember, by this man's own very account, he stated that he grabbed her hand when she refused to hand over her phone. If you're speaking of assault, then that's where the said assault started. He had absolutely no right to attempt to take her phone, NO MATTER WHAT. There are several legitimate avenues to address an errant behaviour from a student. He chose to go that route because he believed that as far as the school environment is concerned, he is the Lord of the Manor. 4) Watching the video in frame 2, you can clearly see the man dragging her by her cloth; and considering how low-cut her dress is, you can clearly see that her entire breast was completely exposed the way he held her. This video also clearly shows that she only held him back after he refused to let go of her. 5) Lastly, I put EVERY blame on this man because he had very many chances to de-escalate this situation as the elder there. While he was walking past that girl, for a split second, he looked into the camera. He was very aware that he was caught on video. He had no problems with it until he overheard the girl's snide comment. He could have kept moving. Returning there just because a (likely) 19 year old said a few words he didn't like was merely him insulting himself. Then, for those who have continued to vouch for the man being a "gentleman," let me just make this clear: no true gentleman would be found in such a situation. But with a whimper in an interview about how “Americans don’t have any talent.” I do think he actually believes (some) of his own bullshit. He’s a businessman with billionaire businessman friends. He thinks what’s best for Hyatt Hotels is best for the country. He thinks hotels, farms, tech, banks, resorts, everybody flying in cheap foreign Thirdworld labor is good for business, therefor it’s good. Americans “didn’t want those jobs anyways 👋🏼😌” even though those jobs are in America and Americans are EXACTLY who worked them before. Americans were the ONLY ones working jobs in America during all of Trump’s lifetime, actually. But somewhere, somehow, it was decided that American businesses had a fundamental human right to claim Thirdworlders are geniuses and only they can work American jobs, which has always been code for “they’ll do it for far less pay. 😉” Trump and all of his friends did it for decades. They imported entire Thirdworld families, patted them on the head for being “good little workers”, and slipped a $20 with a wink to the guy holding the door, feeling VERY virtuous indeed. Now that EVERY sector of the U.S. economy is under siege by compounded Thirdworld foreign visa scamming, and companies are more and more flagrantly abusing the absurd fact that they are allowed to do it, Trump is being pulled in two directions. Does he listen to the voice of the American people? The American people telling him this economy fucking sucks actually (a blow to his ego, “Don’t they see the stock market??”) and that they can’t get jobs (“They just must not be looking very hard, back in my day you’d walk right in and give a firm handshake”) Or does he listen to the billionaire business friends, thanking him for a BOOMING economy, lionizing his BEAUTIFUL policies (“so smart!”), and imploring him to keep H-1B and other American Replacement schemes open because “I just can’t find anyone!
