Firefighters have stopped forward progress, and the fire is currently estimated at 28 acres. The fire was initially reported as 1-2 acres in medium brush with a moderate rate of spread. VCFD is in unified command with @venturacityfire and @oxnardfiredepartment. Approximately 100 firefighters were engaged in this incident, including engines, water tenders, dozers, hand crews. Crews will be remaining on scene for the next few hours mopping up hotspots within the fire footprint. This is the Brewer Fire burning in Jefferson county, Oregon. 500+ acres, and she’s gone. The Kaiser Canyon Fire in Okanogan county, Washington is 1,000 acres. The Neff Jones Fire is 1,500 acres and the Lyons Ferry Fire is 3,000 acres in Franklin county, Washington and active. The Crosswhite Fire is 4,667 acres and the Cove Creek Fire is 1,000 acres, both in Wheeler county, Oregon. The Lower Dry Creek Fire in Umatilla county, Oregon is 5,000 acres. The Hopkins Fire is 5,000+ acres and the Porcupine Ridge Fire is 1,000 acres, both in Gilliam county, Oregon. The Wilcox Fire in Sherman county, Oregon is 2,500 acres. #mountainfire update; The fire is currently at 20,596 acres... with 7% containment. There are currently 2,420 personnel on scene, including 378 engines, 20 Water Tenders, 34 Hand Crews, 17 Dozers and 14 helicopters. VCFD is in unified command with CAL FIRE Incident Management Team 5 and we are incredibly grateful for the support of our mutual aid partners. Damage assessment teams are in process of identifying and verifying the number of structures that have been impacted. Our thoughts are with all of members of our local Ventura County community through this devastating incident. The fire is burning in steep, rugged terrain with dry and receptive fuels that continue to challenge containment efforts. Fire activity has decreased due to a decrease in winds over the area. A large animal evacuation center has been established at the Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara. A public information hotline has been established. Affected residents can call 805-465-6650 for assistance. Evacuation orders remain in place. Residents are encouraged to visit for the most current evacuation information. The Lee Fire in Colorado is a monster, now... 58,700+ acres. This fire in Rio Blanco county has caused the closure of Highway 64 this afternoon from county road 7 to county road 5. The fire continues to make large wind fueled runs. The fire also jumped Highway 13 but aviation was able to keep it in check. Crews and fire managers continue to try and slow the progress of the fire before it impacts Meeker, Colorado. Current temps are 90 degrees with 16MPH winds. Footage shows an aerial view of the Grapevine Fire,... one of two wildfires that broke in Lincoln County, Nevada on Wednesday. Officials said the fire was an estimated 11,606 acres with no containment as of Sunday. The Kane Springs Fire, which also sparked in Lincoln County on Wednesday, was measured to be approximately 12,448 acres with 10% contained as of Sunday.show more
