We’ve been stranded since 9:00 AM, and now we’re told an engineer will only arrive at 3:00 PM to inspect the aircraft because of a so-called technical issue. Yesterday’s flight was cancelled. Flights have reportedly been getting cancelled from 5 days, and even today there’s no certainty. Is this what you call aviation safety and passenger service? Are we idiots standing here for hours with no information, no accountability, and no respect for our time? Clearly, money—especially newfound wealth—cannot buy manners or respect. One solution could be raising flight fares, as many who lack the discipline for air travel seem better suited for railways. Another could be mandatory army training up to a certain age to instill discipline and respect. So, when an airline crew asks you to stow... your phones, AirPods, and power banks in the pocket in front of you, this is why. A SwissAir flight from Zurich was forced to divert to JFK when a wireless earbuds charging case became lodged inside a passenger seat, where it was was damaged and overheated. I know we’re anal about a lot of stuff but this one is ultra-important. Power banks must not be used or charged during the flight and must be kept in the passenger seat pocket, or in hand baggage under the seat. Fires in airplanes is bad juju.show more
