In India, we show maximum EGO on our roads!... Cars were already crossing a narrow bridge when a Santro driver came from the opposite side. Instead of backing up, he decided to stand his ground and waited for over an hour. Even an Army convoy had to eventually move back just to satisfy his ego! It was a matter of a few seconds and a little compromise, but one person’s ego ended up harassing and blocking so many people for more than an hour. But why? The rookie also created separation down the seam on a ball Purdy overshot. Stribling caught a nice one from Purdy on an early rollout 🏈New CB Jack Jones has looked spry, but Ricky Pearsall cooked him on a double move — Jones misfired but that was some "wow" separation. Purdy later hit Pearsall for what might've been a catch-and-run TD 🏈Excellent Renardo Green leaping PBU 🏈CMC has a lot of juice to begin this camp. Jordan James got most of the work behind him early in this practice, but the back half featured more of rookie Kaelon Black. He had a muscle-on-muscle collision with Marques Sigle early 🏈Ji'Ayir Brown notched an acrobatic diving INT off a shorter pass from Purdy, who bounced back immediately with a chunk gainer to Mike Evans. This evening, Israeli residents set fire twice to the... perimeter of the UNRWA Headquarters in occupied East Jerusalem. This took place while UNRWA and other UN Agencies’ staff were on the compound. While there were no casualties among our staff, the fire caused extensive damage to the outdoor areas. The UNRWA headquarters has on its grounds a petrol and diesel station for the Agency’s fleet of cars. Our director with the help of other staff had to put out the fire themselves as it took the Israeli fire extinguishers and police a while before they turned up. A crowd accompanied by armed men were witnessed outside the compound chanting “Burn down the United Nations” (see video below 👇 from Israeli media). This is an outrageous development. Once again, the lives of UN staff were at a serious risk. In light of this second appalling incident in less than a week, I have taken the decision to close down our coumpound until proper security is restored. Over the past two months, Israeli extremists have been staging protests outside the UNRWA compound in Jerusalem, called by an elected member of the Jerusalem municipality. This week, the protest became violent when demonstrators threw stones at UN staff and at the buildings of the compound. Over the past months, UN staff have regularly been subjected to harassment and intimidation. Our compound has been seriously vandalized and damaged. On several occasions, Israeli extremists threatened our staff with guns. It is the responsibility of the State of Israel as an occupying power to ensure that United Nations personnel and facilities are protected at all times. UN staff, premises and operations should be protected at all times in line with international law. I call on all those who have influence to put an end to these attacks and hold all those responsible accountable. The perpetrators of these attacks must be investigated and those responsible must be held accountable. Anything less will set a new dangerous standard.show more

On dolling and my transition, part n. I had... decided to doll today and I had recorded an absolutely wonderful session filled with the passion of someone who has been away from it from a long time. Pressed record and it didn't start. Whoops. The 12 seconds is from when I sat on the remote and the menu came up 🫠 anywayssss Was not a waste of time, I gained insight and new questions, of which I'm very happy with. The nature of each mask has changed for me again. I think I'm reconnecting with the doll side and away from the female mask side a bit. It felt like what I was aiming for with the female mask I could do with makeup. I didn't need it. However... I loved using my Moli 茉莉兔兔 Barbie (and holy shit I want one of the new ones, they look incredible) and my Dreammask Studio Q04 (the very functional silicone doll) and feeling the gags silence and objectify me. I missed that. I loved the snugness. I have yet again hit the confusion of "I don't know exactly who I want to play with (doll? Man? Woman? Trans woman?)" I do want to play though, rest assured. On dysphoria, it assures me that bottom surgery is in my future. That said, holy fuck is it ever a procedure. It will derail my life a great deal when it happens. I dont want to doll without the hips, and I imagine my relationship to it will continue to change. Can you believe people sleep under such structures? As... a journalist, I don’t stay in the same place and I’m constantly on the move. Yesterday, I decided to go spend some time with my family in Jabalia where we had tuna and mayonnaise for dinner. I went to the bathroom and saw the ceiling covered in mosquitoes and the smell of sewage was overwhelming. The living room has a massive column broken in from the neighboring building. Somehow my family is adapting to all of this. Sharing a small bowl of tuna, surrounded by a horrible smell, walls covered in mosquitoes and somehow they still manage to crack jokes and bring me joy. But still, my feeling of helplessness broke me. I couldn’t bring more than some tuna, I can’t fix a sewage system that was completely obliterated, I can’t protect them from the mosquitoes, I can’t rebuild the home. Every night, when it’s my thoughts and the buzzing of drones, I wonder if the house will collapse on my family. On my parents, my sisters, my brothers, our cat and its four kittens. I wonder if the house will get bombed while they’re all inside. I don’t want them to die without me. If they will die, I hope it’s on one of the days that I’m visiting them. Today, we are announcing our integration with Hyperlane ⏩,... the open interoperability framework connecting more than 150 blockchain networks. Shield Swap is built for confidential trading. Participant identities stay off the public ledger, portfolio balances remain encrypted to the participant’s keys, and trades do not expose the participant’s full activity to public observers. Each transaction also creates an encrypted compliance record that can be disclosed to authorized parties when required. But confidential execution is only useful if participants can get their assets into the venue without rebuilding their treasury operations around a new network. Hyperlane solves that access problem. Its framework supports asset transfers across EVM, Solana, Cosmos, and other virtual machine environments. A single Hyperlane integration can connect applications and assets across more than 150 networks. For Shield Swap participants, that means assets can move into the venue from the networks where they already sit. Hyperlane also gives applications control over how cross-chain messages are verified. Its Interchain Security Modules allow developers to choose and combine security models for their deployment. Validator sets and signature thresholds can be configured around the requirements of the application rather than inherited from a single bridge-wide model. Transfers into Shield Swap remain visible on their origin networks. Confidentiality begins when the assets are shielded inside the venue. From that point, the participant’s identity, balances, and trading activity stay out of public view. View keys allow the participant to disclose the relevant records to authorized parties without making those records public. There is a marble quarry in the Italian Alps... that has been working since 1387, but in 639 years it has had only one customer... The quarry is at Candoglia, at the mouth of the Ossola valley. On 24 October 1387, Gian Galeazzo Visconti decided that the cathedral going up in his city should be built of marble rather than brick, and handed the quarry over to the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo, the body established to build it. He also granted the stone free passage down the waterways to Milan. The blocks went by raft from the river Toce into Lake Maggiore, down the Ticino, along the Naviglio Grande, then through a system of locks into a small lake in the centre of the city, a few hundred metres from the site. The bargemen carried the letters AUF, for "ad usum fabricae", for the use of the works, which cleared the cargo through customs without charge. People in Lombardy still say "a ufo" for something got for nothing, and the phrase is traditionally traced back to those barges... Mark Twain came in 1867 and noticed something most visitors walk past: "We saw a new statue put in its niche yesterday alongside of one which had been standing these four hundred years." It has never stopped: around a thousand tonnes of Candoglia marble still comes out of the mountain every year, and all of it goes to the same building. In a workshop in the Certosa district, sculptors cut replacements for whatever the weather has eaten away, from the same stone, for the same institution, founded in 1387. The cathedral was declared finished in 1965 but the quarry never stopped, because a cathedral like this is not something you complete... it is inherited, kept, and handed on. In true helicopter-mom form, Mama Bradford stepped in to handle this blocking & tackling, & the workers rejoiced! My brother pointed out mistakes I made when coding our first matching algorithm (like not normalizing like-rate by gender), & stepped in to write ETL scripts so he could analyze our data and improve our match rate. As signups skyrocketed, I wasn’t reviewing applicants in a timely fashion (yes those long waitlist times were in part due to my ineptitude), so Mollie, my bff since 14, moved to San Francisco to take over our vetting process, ensuring we drafted a diverse founding class of All-Stars. When I was drowning in support tickets, Jeff (my best friend’s husband) & Meredith (my first employee who became a best friend), replaced me as League Concierge so I could fix bugs & hire an engineering leader to rewrite the app for scale. I feel blessed I had my mom, brother, & best friends to lean on at the beginning of what I can only describe as a roller-coaster-marathon journey. Their heavy lifting allowed me to get The League off the ground, & turn it into a profitable business attractive to Match, all on $2.3M raised. Fast forward nearly 9 years & now, with Match behind us, we can finally swing for the fences to fulfill The League’s potential to be much more than a dating app for ambitious singles. We’re leveraging their best-in-class trust & safety AI tools & sophisticated ML systems refined over decades that we could not have built ourselves.
