No changes to morning update on severe weather chances,... but the system is finally showing its hand and round 1 looks to head decently south of the #Chicago metro area. That pushes the all-important warm frontal boundary well into central IL Question remains how far north that front pushes back today, but odds are decreasing it can reach or breach the magical I-80 weather wall. Midday to early afternoon trends still need to be closely monitored, but personally (this is just me speaking) wouldn’t be surprised to see that moderate risk over half the metro area slide south on the next update What does remain is a rainy day and the flooding threat hangs on as we sit on the cool side where all this moisture aloft will get wrung out. We are under a flood thru the afternoon More later as things play out, but early hi res morning models paint a much less severe picture across northern IL and Chicago Here are 5 looks at the key late afternoon 4PM forecast hourshow more

A week since launch… and I still can’t stop... watching this on loop. ❤️🚀 What are the odds that Vikram-1’s very first sunrise in orbit makes its grand entrance through the diamond on board? Some moments can’t be engineered. That perfect sun angle happened only because of the launch hold—we lifted off 35 minutes and 30 seconds later than planned, at 12:05:30. Sometimes, the universe adds its own touch. This will be one of the most beautiful footages ever captured from space. ✨ 🚀show more

Your Diamonds 😱 Many people are asking: “How can I earn more Diamonds?” Here’s a clear and simple explanation 👇 1️⃣ Keep your node running as much as possible — on Mobile, Desktop, and Extension 2️⃣ Your Diamonds mainly depend on network activity (connections) 👉 The more traffic and requests your internet handles through the Grass network, the more Diamonds you earn 👉 If your connection has low activity or fewer requests, your Diamond rewards will be lower 💡 Tip: Try to maximize uptime and improve network activity. In some cases, changing your location can also help increase connections. Diamonds will play a key role in Season 2 airdrop distribution — don’t ignore this! 👇 How many Diamonds do you currently have? Let us know in the comments! Morning Update Focus: North Georgia down to the Metro.... Last night behaved about as expected. Lighter precipitation fell across a wide footprint that was affected by CAD. This wide footprint was well forecasted by the NWS as you see the footprint still slightly past I-75 and south of I-20 on the early run of the radar. We have maybe a lull in precipitation, though I doubt it will be a complete lull before the line of thunderstorms and yes, thunder-ice moves through the area stacking ice totals quickly. The warm nose will slowly begin to lift north and eastward, however as you see portrayed by the 10z HRRR, the areas that are CAD prone never rise above freezing (I’m gonna hold off on gloating about calling that one cause it hasn’t happened yet), while the heart of the line pushes through. This is going to be interesting I’m about to get outside and check. I’m expecting to see around .25-.40 already in Lumpkin County. But let me get the morning going (coffee!)show more

Wednesday, April 3, 2024, 5:42 PM PDT: All systems... are a go for a cold and unseasonable Gulf of Alaskan April storm. Strong thunderstorms have already developed near Redding, California, and a series of embedded impulses are rotating around the main low axis off the coast of Humboldt County this afternoon. This storm system will undergo a brief 12 to 24-hour intensification process before hitting San Francisco, Santa Rosa, and Sacramento late Thursday afternoon. It will bring isolated strong to severe thunderstorm conditions. A large surface cold front will develop late Friday morning as the low axis trajectory slides down the coast towards Pismo Beach, California by Friday at dawn. Severe Weather Risk In Central And Southern California on Friday. The atmospheric conditions will become increasingly unstable, giving way to thunderstorms from central California to San Diego. The cold pool of air aloft, at minus 28 Celsius above 25,000FT, will create volatile weather conditions with the possibility of pea-sized hail and brief heavy rainfall in some areas. The air mass will be very cold, supporting a dusting of snow near the Grapevine and Cajon Pass. Temperatures will drop into the 40s and 50s, and the 30s near the mountains by Friday midday. As snow levels have been trending downward and hit rock bottom, there may be some isolated areas at 2,000-foot elevation along the San Gabriel’s and parts of the San Bernardino mountains that could see a dusting of snow. Even some dusting of snow in the high desert cannot be ruled out. There is a high confidence of elevated water spouts developing from San Luis Obispo to San Diego coastal zones, especially since one of the embedded disturbances will arrive on Friday from 11 AM to 7 PM. This is also the best opportunity for ample early April sun angle, which will give way to stronger convection across our region. I'm closely monitoring this developing situation in the next 24 hours. #Californiastorms #ElNiño #April2024show more

Here is a 3D visualization of the coming solar... storm using model parameters from NASA's run, NOAA's run (shown below), and the coronagraph views from STEREO-A/COR2 and SOHO/LASCO. The storm is expected to hit Earth early December 9. The 3D visualization clearly shows the low inclination orientation of the solar slinky core inside the larger storm envelope. Of course, the earlier eruption that erupted to the northeast, might deflect this structure a little bit, but likely that will only make the structure move more towards the ecliptic plane, which will give us a larger chance of crossing through the solar slinky core. One nice thing about low inclination flux rope cores is that they almost ALWAYS have southward field in them at some point. So this is good news for aurora photographers-- as long as this solar storm stays true to its launch trajectory and inclination, we could see some organized southward pointed magnetic field. Considering this solar storm is fast-- that usually indicates the storm will not deviate much from its original launch trajectory! Here is the link to a static frame of the 3D frame visualization so you can fly around it yourself:show more

I spent 48 hours running AI from my phone.... Here are 11 things that turned out to be possible and 3 that almost cost me money Forgot my laptop at home and thought the day was lost. Opened a terminal from my phone and decided to see how long I could last Lasted 2 days. Not just lasted but made $840 What works from a phone: 1. Set up Claude Code through SSH in 10 minutes while riding the subway 2. Get Telegram pushes every time a wallet enters a position 3. Copy a trade with 1 tap without taking out my earbuds 4. Launch scripts by voice through Shortcuts 5. Monitor 3 wallets simultaneously without a single lag 6. Get a morning report at 7 AM as a regular message 7. Rebuild the bot when it crashed while sitting in a cab 8. Check PnL without opening a browser 9. Add a new wallet to tracking in 30 seconds 10. Set up auto-copying without confirmation on verified wallets 11. Get a full strategy breakdown of a wallet through Claude Code in a regular chat And here is what almost killed the deposit: 1. My finger slipped and I entered at twice the planned size. Did not notice for 20 minutes. Got lucky that the position ended up in profit but it could have gone very differently 2. My phone died at 2 AM. Missed the exit signal and the position dropped $110 while I slept. By morning I realized that a power bank is just as much a part of the strategy as the bot itself 3. The delay when copying was 40 seconds. On a 15-minute market that is an eternity. The price moved from 8 cents to 23, and instead of a 12x return I got a 4x. Still profit but you feel the difference immediately Total for 48 hours: +$840. Screen time on the phone: 47 minutes. Never needed the laptop The entire time I was following the same wallet. That is the 1 that was sending me signals at 2 AM: The phone turned out to be a fully functional control panel. But this control panel has no safety switch. And that is worth remembering every time you are tapping with 1 hand in the coffee lineshow more

The upcoming storm system is eerily reminiscent of March... of 1995. A snow-moving occluded front strengthened by a 130-knot plus westerly jet stream flowing across the Pacific will be centered over the Central Coast tonight into Friday. This condition will create an Atmospheric River (AR) that will produce moderate gale-force to fresh gale-force (32 to 46 mph with gusts to 55 mph) southerly winds and continuous moderate to heavy rain over a 24-hour period. NOAA’s HRRR (High Resolution Rapid Refresh) model indicates between 3 and 5 inches of rain for most of the coastal and inland valleys; however, orographic enhancement due to the southerly gales will produce between 5 and 10 increase of rain along many of the southerly facing slopes, such as portions of the Cuesta Grade. The Santa Lucia Mountains above Morro Bay, Cayucas, Cambria, San Simeon, and Big Sur could see over 15 inches of rainfall. Scattered rain showers will develop on Saturday, ending on Sunday into Monday. Another storm system is forecast to produce additional rain on Tuesday into Wednesday. At this time, between 2 and 4 inches.show more
