I always wondered "What if I port my three.js... game to Rust? Will it improve performance?" I finally ported it to both Rust Desktop and Rust WASM (that runs on the browser) Comparing the three.js version with the Rust desktop I had a clear winner: Rust desktop. But now I took the time to port it to the web using Web Assembly (WASM) And my conclusion is... A tie! Both versions averaged 42FPS (60FPS if running one at a time) So if your goal is to ship a web game, it doesn't even matter the tech you use. (Three.js is recommended because the ecossystem is huge though) As long you optmize well (Web workers, reduce triangles, draw calls, etc) you should be good to go. But in the event you want to ship a native game to publish on Steam a system language (Rust, C++, etc) will be better for you. Now I want to port the three.js game to Desktop using Electron and see the results. I'll let you know. Btw, I'm open to new freelance projects. If you have anything for me, my DMs are open!show more

Making a camera was way harder than I thought.... Here's what I learned: If you want smart phone level camera, you can't just buy a smartphone camera component That's because cameras talk to a special chip (ISP) that does all kinds of magic There's special image software too, and you can't do it yourself, so it's gonna cost you $100-250k for that software that does tuning, HDR, MFNR, etc. Takes months to implement properly Then it's even worse if you want to livestream. Since you can't do the processing after the fact, you've gotta make all that special software run realtime on a resource constrained processor You also gotta realize our hands and heads aren't stable at all. The video is shaky until you do electronic image stabilization (EIS) If you don't do every single one of these right, then you'll have potato-quality video After all this work, we've now got something really good, and I'm amped to ship Mentra Live smart glasses because it's a smart phone quality camera that sees what you see, live streams anywhere, and has an open-source SDK you can build apps with.show more

Sharing my new skill! It keeps track of high-signal... X accounts for top AI news, papers, projects, etc. Total gamechanger for me. Built with X MCP tools. Give your agent the skill and tell it to generate the artifact with top stories. Works for Codex, Claude, Hermes, OpenClaw, or whatever you use. 3 steps: 1. Set up X MCP - X API: 2. Install skill here: 3. Run prompt: "Use the x-agent-intelligence skill to build a self-contained local feed from my X MCP connection; ask for my source handles if needed, save feed.html, and validate it." It should generate a nice, beautiful HTML artifact like the one shown in the clip. You can tune it however you want. You can then set a schedule/automation to do this daily or whatever cadence you prefer. I have it every 4 hours. You will need to curate the X accounts yourself, but I have shared a few good ones under the assets. You can ask your agent to tune it to however you like. I'm laying in my tent reflecting on my life... right now..and I have to say, some would say my life situation of being homeless is a sad thing .. because you see people out there who are addicts and in bad situations .. but mine isn't anything like that. Although I havent had a home in 10 years, I see and feel the blessing. I'm so free in life to live how I want in life. Sure while sometimes I desire a bed to come home too.. I get to have a bed anywhere in life I want. I'm so free to live and explore as I please with nothing to tie me down. If I could share any piece of advice, it is simple do not trade your freedom of life for the chains of society and what they deem how YOU should live. I promise in this day and age you can be so free and make money without anyone there to tell you when to clock in, when to eat lunch, when you can use the bathroom, none of that!
