First, when they took her by force from her parents and put her in a government center. They planned to start the process 39 minutes ago, meaning she is already potentially in an induced coma, as the toxins that are designed to stop her from breathing begin to be administered. Today we visited Power at 3 PM. The vets... informed us that she didn't eat anything during the night, so they started an intravenous drip with fluids (saline/water) to keep her hydrated. Even during our visit she did not wanna eat anything, but we did manage to give her a solid 45 minutes of pure cuddles. We also received the three invoices covering the Operation that she will get on monday, daily hospitalization costs plus the full ultrasound they gave her. (and I'll upload them to the main GoFundMe page). The Veterinary confirmed that the operation will be an exploratory laparoscopy with a micro camera to see what's going on and there will be no actual removal of the mass just a biopsy of a small part of the tissue and lymph node to get analized. and that they will need to make a second surgery when her clinical situation get more clearer to get the mass removed and start the chemo. Sadly we have not yet a quote for those. Power will also get a gastric tube to make feeding her easier. With that, she will be able to come home to us wednesday while we wait for the removal surgery. URGENT APPEAL This is Njeri Mugure She is 28... years and was born deaf. Her mother locked her away about 10 years ago due to her disability. She sometimes is even chained on the seat and never allowed to go outside. Due to the deplorable conditions, and malnutrition, lack of sun and she often left in her own excrement. Her bones are brittle andis unable to walk unsupported. Her language is now guttural sounds, whereas neighbours say that she used to be vocal. Njeri has not been cleaned in a long time and our ED Njeri and the house mum have been cleaning her but due to the formation of scales on her skin. She also has oral thrush and other issues. Having rescued her , we took her to hospital and reported the matter to Kihara Police, we are doing P3s today for the arrest of the mother due to gross negligence. We need your help for her care for the next three months. Njeri needs a caregiver as she is unable to hold her urine or excrement. We need diapers and gloves. We need a portaloo to potty train her , a small walker to aid movement and drugs as well as supplements that have been prescribed. We will stay with her for three months as we figure her next steps.
