Seedance 2.0 - Advanced Workflows Series 14. Compositing and... Layering Some shots may have many characters that need specific movements. When we start adding characters, it becomes very difficult to achieve the exact animation, gesture, or movement we are looking of all of them in a single generation. In addition, the more characters are added, the more rigid Seedance 2.0 animations become in order to maintain consistency. This is especially visible in styles with squash and stretch and rubber hose animations, where the characters deform their body parts as if they were made of rubber, or in highly expressive movement animations in anime. Sneak peek from the lab. Work in progress of... the real-time face tracking, via iPhone, Clone v2 cinematic rig. Simple viewport capture, no lighting or shading. Effective expression capture is key for conveying emotions accurately with your Clones. Our new cinematic rig has been constructed with flexibility in mind. We've carefully refined the 52 blend shapes that drive the facial expressions, and the face controls themselves, to achieve a more natural look. We have more iteration cycles to go through before we hit our target but you can already see a great difference from v1. This upgrade opens up a world of possibilities, from high-fidelity dynamic VRMs adaptable to various platforms to virtual production capabilities and V-Tubing with improved face filters. Sakuga Over The Years (October 2016) KA: Tomohiro Shinoda... (篠田 知宏), China (ちな), Fumiaki Kouta (光田 史亮), Ripa (りぱ), Mitsuru Ishihara (石原 満), Atsuki Shimizu (清水 厚貴), Artist Unknown PV: Flip Flappers (フリップフラッパーズ) OP I’ve highlighted a lot of Kiyotaka Oshiyama’s past work as a key animator and an episode director, but this is his first credit for directing an entire project! A much different work than Look Back, but still a really well animated one. Now while he’s solo animated episodes before, it would obviously be an arduous task to direct and animate every episode himself, but he’s involved practically as much as he can be by storyboarding half of the episodes as well as this OP and the ED and doing some key animation of his own. Now in terms of the OP itself, we’ve got some gorgeous work from a bunch of skilled animators. Now the cuts are very quick, but there’s some really crazy running and background animation both in cut 1 by Tomohiro Shinoda (who has worked a lot on projects that Yoshimichi Kameda is involved in) and cut 4 presumably done by Ripa.show more

004/100 Buttons. A bit of the process on building... an animation. When looking at a finished animation or in this example a finished button, it can look quite complex inside the CSS. But when building it, it’s more like a lot of simple steps, one after another. Here I had the idea to make some kind of text animation like the footer logo on the Osmo site. I try to add the base animation with no complex easing, for example transition: translate 0.4s ease. Starting with just moving the one text from bottom to top and the other text to top. Adding a stagger, play around with it. Searching for a way to make it more circular. On the research I found the sin() function inside CSS which can build a more smooth non linear curve for the stagger which creates this circular effect. And step by step adding more complexity like, different easing for hover/hover-out, opacity, 3D transform and more. I use also the sin() function to rotate the letters, so the middle ones are getting more rotated than the outer ones. Another thing which helps is to add a small delay on hover, for example 0.05s or 0.1s, you don’t really see the difference, but when you hover pretty fast on and out it doesn’t get that jumpy. I’m using here GSAP’s SplitText to split every char into spans. And then I’m adding a CSS index variable to every span, starting from the center. SplitText can provide CSS index variables, but you cannot tell it from which direction. For the sin() it’s also important to have a max length, so I add another CSS variable with the max char number on it. Crafting 100 Buttons with Osmo ⏳ Total time: 63hshow more

Ukraine tried to strike back with a small-ish cope drone wave (some possibly from the Baltics), but doesn't seem to have had had any success worth noting.⬇️ What does this portend for ground operations? Objectively nothing - the Russians have launched many large air raids before with no significant followup on the ground. We'll know the they are moving on the ground when they move on the ground. With that being said, the situation is ripe for significant moves and Putin has given the order to secure a buffer zone across Chernigov, Sumy and Kharkov - a move that would double the length of the active front - so it's almost a given at this point that we're looking at the run-up to a major offensive.show more

His daughter used to invite him inside before the fireworks started, close the curtains, turn the television up, and pretend she wasn’t watching his hands. Walter hated that part most. He didn’t want pity. He didn’t want people whispering around him. He wanted to sit on his own porch, in his own chair, and act like the noise didn’t still reach places in him he couldn’t explain. He had come home from Vietnam a long time ago, but some nights never seemed as far away as they should have. Most days, Walter was steady. He mowed his lawn, fixed the loose rail by the steps, and waved at every neighbor who passed. Loud sudden sounds were the one thing that could still pull the room out from under him. That night, the first fireworks started before it was fully dark. Walter stayed outside anyway. He sat on the porch steps with his cap low over his face, trying to breathe through each burst like he’d done so many times before. Duke watched him from the walkway. The black shepherd mix had been with Walter for three years. He knew the small things: the way Walter’s shoulders tightened before he said he was fine, the way his fingers curled when the noise got too close, the way silence after a loud boom sometimes scared him more than the boom itself. Another firework cracked over the neighborhood, and Walter covered his face with both hands. Duke came up the steps slowly. He didn’t crowd him. He just walked close enough, waited a second, then rested his head on Walter’s knee. Walter’s hand dropped almost right away. He touched Duke’s ear, then the side of his neck, and his breathing started to slow. The fireworks kept going behind them, lighting the street in red and white, but Walter wasn’t alone with the sound anymore. After a while, he leaned forward and held Duke with both arms. “Good boy,” he whispered. Duke stayed there until the noise moved farther away. Dagknight technical progress As would be mentioned in a... still unshared post by Michael Sutton, the dagknight effort is split into v0 devnet, v1 testnet and v2 mainnet candidate. I’ve been testing the current v0-based implementation in a small devnet with the help of some testers who run nodes and miners with me. The DK work can be thought of as split into two parts: (1) implementing the actual protocol and (2) wiring it up and using it. The testing and development over the last month has been focused on (2). Obviously, DK is a consensus change for selecting parents. What’s not so obvious is that such a change affects DAA, coinbase, IBD, pruning and a lot more. Each of these areas is very sensitive and requires proper understanding to wire correctly. An important consideration and difference from GD is that DK does not focus on maximizing a property like blue work. So to maintain topological properties of blue work, an independent (free) GD implementation is kept running specifically for maintaining blue work. This allows us to keep using the property for topology. Coloring and blue score use the megachain induced by DK. The wiring around DK as of this posting is in a working state, but still needs to be reviewed. Next efforts will be focused on protocol specific components, particularly Tie-Breaking and incremental UMC. Attached are some captures from the internal devnet. The dense DAG image is what happens when things related to DAA or other similar consensus parameter causes a node to insist on their POV. The video is a recent snippet of the KGI running on the devnet showing (perhaps not obviously) DK at work. The current “dagknight” branch is now posted on the main repo. Gather - work in progress what if your notes... app felt more like a physical notebook? you can have pages with your notes, your tasks, your thoughts, your inspiration and organize them in a way that is meaningful to you. each page is a little canvas. it might look a little bit like a gimmick, but once you try it, you might feel differently. when designing Gather, Ajay Sabs and i draw our inspiration more than anything from physical things. we’ve always wanted to try and re-create some of the feelings and romanticism we associate with physical notebooks, books and magazines. we’ve always felt there was something special about how pages have an order and how you’re mind creates visual and spatial connections depending on how things are organized - particularly things that you’ve written, revisit often or have a significance to you. the notebook view is an idea we’ve played with for a very long time. and its a lot more than just swiping between pages. this is just a little peek. we are also working on other views that are optimized for different use-cases and different modes of thinking. we’re excited to share some of those soon.show more
