The World Cup ends today. One game left. By... tomorrow most of you visitors will be packing up, heading to the airport, going home. So before you go, let me say the thing I actually want to say. A few weeks ago I wrote a silly post about all the things you were discovering here. Free refills. Free water. Ice like civilized people. Chips and salsa before you even order. Air conditioning that is a fact and not a moral debate. Drive-throughs. Ranch by the gallon. The Germans standing in the HEB meat aisle in reverent silence, finally understanding why we do not have trains. Buc-ee’s, for which there are still no words. It blew up, because it was true, and because you were so delightfully stunned by all of it. Even the Wall Street Journal caught on. Their headline this week: how the US lost the World Cup and won over the world. We did not lift the trophy. But apparently we lifted something else. We even learned a few things about ourselves along the way. Like the fact that Elon Musk, the single richest man on the planet, shops at HEB. Just rolls in and queues up for fresh tortillas with everybody else. The man could buy the tortilla company, the state it is in, and the moon it sits under, and instead he is standing in line at the hot-tortilla counter like the rest of us, because that is where the good ones are. Only in America is the wealthiest human alive elbow to elbow with a mom of four at the salsa bar. That is the whole country in one aisle. And here is the part I want every one of you to hear on your way out the door. None of it was a show. We did not roll all this out because you were coming. The ice was always there. The refills were always free. The grocery stores were always the size of aircraft hangars at ten on a Tuesday. The stranger who adopted your whole section, the guy who gave you a ride, the waitress who remembered your order, the family that invited you to the cookout, that is not World Cup America. That is just America. That is Tuesday. We are exactly like this when nobody is visiting. Loud, generous, ridiculous, overfed, and genuinely thrilled you came. We will still be exactly like this tomorrow when the stands are empty and the flags come down. So thank you. To everyone who came, who sang in our streets, who cleaned our stadiums, who turned our cities orange and filled our bars and taught us your chants. My First AmFest Experience: As a combat veteran and... first-time attendee at AmericaFest 2025, I wanted to share my thoughts on this unforgettable event. First, my deepest gratitude goes to everyone who made this happen—from the organizers to the volunteers and staff. You all know who you are, and your dedication shone through. I’ve attended a few large events in my life, but AmFest was by far the greatest. This wasn’t just a political gathering; it was a profound experience of shared purpose and renewal. I finally met in person many patriots I’ve known online for years, or reconnected with others. These are true lovers of our country—people I will always have the backs of, just as they’ll have mine. The staff were outstanding: incredibly helpful, enthusiastic, and genuinely invested. When our group needed directions to a session, one staff member went far out of her way to ensure we got there without issue. The atmosphere was electric with patriotism and togetherness. It’s impossible to fully capture unless you were there, but if I had to sum it up in one word: Unity. As a combat veteran, witnessing this unity hit me deeply. I’ve seen division and conflict up close, but here were thousands of Americans coming together, determined to heal and strengthen our nation. It’s profoundly important for someone like me—who’s fought for this country—to see fellow citizens united in love for it, committed to making America better for future generations. We found a flaw in Polymarket that can’t be... patched. Then we built the most powerful bot of the World Cup around it. Here’s the flaw: their orderbook will always be slower than the pitch. When a goal, red card, or penalty hits, pro feeds (Sportradar, Opta, ScoutingFeed) register it in 200-500ms. Polymarket takes 2 to 8 seconds to reprice. For those few seconds the book is quoting a score that no longer exists. No amount of engineering closes that gap the event happens in the physical world before any oracle can confirm it on-chain. The engine detects the event, recalculates fair value, and fires via Jito bundles before the book catches up. In at the old price, out at the new. After 3 incredible years and 1.6M students later, my... journey at ALX Africa has come to an end. It has been a life-changing experience, during which I made a lot of friends, worked with an incredibly dedicated team, and met so many talented students. A few numbers. We scaled from a few thousand students to 1.6M students on our platform. Students loved it and many of them took more than one course: 4M total! For the famous #ALX_SE Software engineering program, our SE students made an average of 2,000 commits and our checker reviewed 180M of their projects. That’s 2B lines of code… and that was before Claude Code. They actually wrote these themselves (unless Kimba said otherwise :) A big thank you to all my SE team mates, I am so proud of what we have accomplished, and I will really miss you all. Been building this little brand for almost three years... now with Grant Eastey and Ejay ODonnell. That’s my wife and I packing our first orders in our tiny garage that couldn’t even fit a car. But in the end the garage found its purpose. There’s something special about just going for it. We just wanted to make some hats for dads that we didn’t see out there for ourselves. Everything else was dad bod humor, mowing the lawn, ugly sneakers, etc. Being a dad is so much more than that. Being a dad really isn’t any of that funny stuff. That’s just the weird brand social media has given us. We’re about to cross half a million hats sold soon and still see ourselves in that tiny garage. Just trying things. Seeing what happens and doubling down if it works. The brand has become so much more than we ever imagined. I don’t enjoy the notion of becoming a “DTC brand”, just become a brand. Become a community and movement. You should see the notes we get from customers saying our hat helped them become better parents, our hat helped them keep trying to have children, our hat brought their kids joy when their dad passed away, our hat showed up and changed the life of someone deciding if they wanted to go on. I don’t care about the metrics. Obsession over CAC and ROAS won’t create this. Building something with meaning is so beyond any of the acronyms we see here on a regular basis. At the end of the day it’s all about trying. You just need to try. It’s as simple as that. I used to think there’s so much to risk by trying. At the end of the day it’s usually ego or fear. And two things are true. Ego decisions are solely based on your perception of what you’ll look like to others, which will never matter in the end. The second thing is fear. Fear usually only lives within YOU. Nowhere else. You make it up and decide how to act from it. Greatness is on the other side of fear. There’s no pressure over here. I was born into project buildings in Poland. “Making it” happened long before the brand started. Making it was getting out of Poland and into the US at the age of 7. On our pod yesterday Nate Lagos📈 asked me why I even stay on X when having a successful brand. The answer is simple. I personally want to give away as much free game as possible. I don’t know it all, not even close. But I want to help others break through and get their ideas into motion. Everyone is charging for courses and slack access.
