STING regularly takes down jet-powered Shaheds 💥 These Shaheds... differ from conventional ones by having a jet engine, which gives them higher speed and longer range. This significantly reduces reaction time, but the skill of the pilots and the STING interceptors still make it possible to destroy even these drones.show more

Interceptor STING takes down another jet-powered Shahed 🚀 Operators... of the 17th Special Purpose Center destroyed a Shahed equipped with a jet engine, which reduces air defense reaction time and makes it harder to intercept. However, our defenders have proven more than once — such targets can be taken down with interceptor STING.show more

❗️🇷🇺Russian jet-powered "Geran-3" drones are no longer invulnerable to... 🇺🇦Ukrainian interceptor drones. Videos that have been published captured two cases of successful interception of jet-powered "Gerans" by anti-aircraft drones from the rear hemisphere — catching up with them from behind. This indicates that Ukrainian interceptors are capable of developing significantly higher speeds than the jet-powered drone and can effectively pursue and catch it.show more

A Russian Geran-5 jet-powered drone intercepted by a regular... Ukrainian STING developed by Wild Hornets , not the specialized STING-S designed to counter faster aerial targets. While the standard STING isn’t designed to reliably intercept jet-powered drones, this shows that under the very specific conditions, it can still engage them.show more

This drone is faster and carries a larger explosive payload than other Geran variants. Big thanks to the military for their expert work! More to come 😎show more

🇺🇦🇷🇺 Some interesting insight into Russia's drone strategy here,... from Zelensky: "I think their mass attacks will increasingly shift from quantity to quality, reducing the proportion of conventional Shaheds... Increasing the percentage of jet-powered ones as much as possible. That is what we are seeing." Writer: Michaelshow more

What the heck is a “Sting Jet”?? It’s a... narrow strip of violent winds, like a jet streak, that can be pulled downward from up above. As the jet streak descends the air dries out, becoming heavier, and speeding up. This Sting Jet got sucked into #Isaias and produced 120 mph gusts near #pensacola, far stronger than the #hurricane core itself. This is an idealized, simplified animation, and the jet is a consequence of the interaction between the storm and the winds aloft.show more

🚨🇺🇦 Ukraine will begin mass deployment of jet-powered interceptor... drones within the next few months, according to Presidential Office chief General Kyrylo Budanov. Budanov says prototypes are already undergoing testing under combat conditions and are being prepared specifically to counter Russia’s new generation of fast jet-powered attack drones. He expects the Ukrainian interceptors to begin shooting them down in the near future. 🔥 This could become an important new layer of Ukraine’s air defense. Purpose-built jet interceptors would offer a potentially more scalable way to engage fast attack drones while preserving expensive surface-to-air missiles for higher-priority threats.
