Just when Rascal thought he had made it back... from the jungle he gets assigned this raid. I suppose they call it the "concrete jungle" in D.C. but this bungalow was way too on theme. Between the "brotherly love" and the bananas and rice the poor animal is fed up with this crime scene. Word is they are gonna have to go back in so Rascal wants you to take this rifle. It is finally starting to cool off here at... home, and yet, I go looking for Rascal and soon after receive a communique that he is in the heat of "The Jungle". What does this mean? How would I know? It could be anything with this animal. All I could make out was, "Hey, I hate to cut it short but their closing in and while the drones are not as effective in this heavy canopy these barefoot bums can sure be a nasty fight on the ground. Sal is ready and the fuses are set, gotta go light'em up boss! Hey! *Radio Crackle* take the FN, it's ready to go and hot to trot!" Before I can get out the second half of "WTH?" I hear rifle reports and he hangs up. Well, all I can figure is he has gotten himself neck deep in jungle trouble with his buddy Sal. Rascal has been in worse scrapes before. It is actually starting to cool, thank The Lord,... and the nights are starting to arrive just a bit earlier. Soon that superior season will be upon us. Autumn. This reminds me of story from a few autumns past when Rascal had to deal with some ne'er-do-wells raising Cain late one night at the shop. When I got there I found the creature dressed in his best 1800's sleepwear and holding a .45 revolver. "You take the light, i'll lead the way." was all the talk he would allow. He handed me the Humming Meadow Silo Taper Hurricane and deeper into the dark warehouse we went. Given that this was years before Humming Meadow was stocking these I have no clue how he came by it. No, I did not bother to ask. How that evening unfolded is a story, perhaps, for another time. For now I will thank Summers Ridge Outdoors for always supporting us and will say that this week's fun is a Taylor's and Co. I apologize in advance to our more delicate followers.... We must never forget the lovelies. That said, I tried to find a less intense angle of the events that unfolded but Rascal's bodycam was the only remaining functioning camera at his street position that night. The broader story is as old as time. Western self loathing and misunderstanding of its place and noblesse oblige stirred up in the same communistic cauldron as envy and third world avarice. The more narrow story of how and why Rascal was in France and how he managed to let any of those thugs bloody him up in the first place will have to be a story for another time. RASCAL IS FINE. Our people were able to get to him before he was overwhelmed. He claims he had things under control but he also does not seem to stoked that I have video that argues otherwise. He is stable and even making jokes with the nurses on site at a location that will remain undisclosed. Being a scientist is still the best job in... the world. The constant frustrations, all the crap that goes with trying to keep the lab alive and move things forward - it all resets and washes away in those occasional moments when we catch a glimpse of nature revealing something remarkable and not seen before. All your anger is natural. I’m not defending his... Instagram post but guys there’s a thin line between hate and criticism. Ik he has a diverse cult fan base and enjoys some liberty in certain areas because he always has his people's back. That said he also needs to be extra careful with his actions so they don't get upset. No matter what people say he has always been proud of you all and proudly flaunts his fandom everywhere whether on TV shows or in interviews. Regarding the Eric Trump / Daniel Cormier “text scandal”,... I am open to being convinced otherwise, but I do not believe for one second that Eric Trump would text something so stupid to Daniel Cormier. It’s laughably stupid on its face to think that Eric Trump would ask a UFC commentator if any of the fights are “rigged”. That he would ask it in writing. And that he would not, for example, just pick up the phone and call Dana White or Joe Rogan himself. That said, I just want to understand what happened. Daniel Cormier said he was hacked. Is that to say he was hacked at the text level, or the X post level? Did he in fact make the post, and delete it? If he made the post, did he do it as a joke to illustrate how absurd the text hack was, but realized how the post could be misinterpreted as real? Or did someone make the post from his X account he subsequently deleted it. I know there are some who are going to say he made the post in earnest, thinking the text messages were real, intending to call out the “corruption”, and he has since been threatened, deleted the post, and claimed “hack”, etc. I can tell you exactly why I do not believe, even if he made the post, he did it believing the text message was real, intending to call out the “corruption”. If Cormier seriously thought the text messages were real, he would understand that by posting it publicly, it would literally destroy the UFC, his livelihood and his legacy - in addition to the legacy of everyone who has ever competed in the UFC. There is no realm of the universe in which even if it were in fact a real text that he actually received from Eric Trump, he would post it publicly. Because it would mean the end of the UFC. I just want to know if he actually made the post from his X account, or if the entire post was the result of a hack (hence the subsequent deleting of the post). I've rewritten this several times, but I can't find... any better way to say it... so here it goes. One of the things I'm scared of most, is time. Particularly, time that is wasted. There's a sundial that hangs on my wall with an inscription that says, "I have done nothing good today, I have lost a day." X has always been a place where I wanted to put out things that didn't waste anyone's time. Whatever post I put out, whatever thought, whatever story, comment,... whatever it was, was worth the time for you to read it, and for me to create it. Because I know, in my bones, that the time we have is precious and thought of wasting even a minute of yours or mine doing something worthless, is genuinely one of my greatest fears. As we were walking down this mountain together, my son looks up at me and says, "Dad... God made me VERY good at hiking." I laughed and say, "Yeah he did!" A couple minutes go by and he stops, he turns at looks at me, and goes: "Dad, God made you VERY good at work and work is very important..." That got me. I often worry that my work pulls me too far away from my kids. Even more than that... ...I know that what I do on X does cause and will cause life to be harder for my kids than if I chose to remain silent Walking off that mountain, one of my deepest fears about wasting time was answered by the very person I was afraid I might be hurting. Burscough football club would not like to only wish... Goodie a massive good luck but we would like to thank him for some great memories in the short amount of time he’s been here. Goodie has been recalled by Everton to go back into the Squads. In the time he’s been here, he’s been a massive personality and a great keeper. He will be hugely missed on and off the field.
