Horrible scenes are unfolding - Syrian Government Forces have... been deployed but they appear to be unwilling/unable to stop the violence in this neighbourhood of Homs. The attackers - predominantly from the Bani Khalid tribe are attacking Alawites and their properties randomly in response to an alleged sectarian attack on a Sunni-Arab husband and wife from the Bani Khalid tribe yesterday night - they were attacked and killed in their home and *Bani Ummaya dogs,Ya Hussein* was written with blood on their bathroom wall. The husband and wife are said to be working for the Syrian ministry of interior. It is very important to highlight that whoever murdered these 2 people yesterday night, had the intention of starting a sectarian conflict in which the Alawites would become the victims. The Syrian MoI issued a statement explicitly stating that the investigation was ongoing and that the perpetrators are unknown yet. If this was indeed a murder, perpetrated by Alawite militants - it would not seem plausible for them to left sectarian statements written in blood on the wall, the Alawite community is well aware that in every scenario, they would become the victim.show more

Security and local sources said the incident occurred when armed bandits stormed the community, but were met with stiff resistance from residents and local vigilante groups who mobilised quickly to confront the attackers. The villagers reportedly engaged the assailants directly, forcing them to retreat after a brief confrontation. During the encounter, one of the suspected bandits was neutralised by the community defence group, while others fled with possible injuries. The sources commended the courage and unity of the residents, particularly the vigilante members, for their swift response in defending their community against the attack. Al-Saddam” Released After Being Detained a Second Time by General Security The 15-year-old girl “Zainab Ali Al-Saddam,” from the Shia community, was released from Homs Central Prison on the evening of May 14, 2026, after being arrested by the #HTS-led General Security militias following her release by her kidnappers on April 30, 2026, after an abduction that lasted 45 days. Local sources reported that the girl was kidnapped from her village of Al-Ghour Al-Gharbiyya, located in rural northern Homs,on March 14, 2026. Her father paid a ransom to secure her release. She was found on April 30, 2026, on the side of the road in extremely poor condition after suffering torture and assault. She was transferred to Homs Central Hospital, at which point General Security arrested her and moved her to Al-Waar Police Station, and then to Homs Central Prison. Following several days of public outcry on social media, the girl was released this evening.show more
