JD Vance just blatantly lied to the people of... Michigan. He claimed that when Trump put tariffs on China, it caused prices to come down for the American people. This is a lie. When Trump put the tariffs on China, China retaliated by doing the same to American goods. The prices of goods did not generally come down for Americans. In fact, the opposite happened in many cases. Tariffs are essentially a tax on imported goods, and when these tariffs were applied to Chinese products, the increased costs were often passed on to American consumers in the form of higher prices. Additionally Trump's tariffs on China had significant negative impacts on American farmers. China's retaliation led to a sharp decline in demand for American farm products from Chinese buyers, which in turn caused a drop in prices and substantial financial losses for American farmers. Trump then gave subsidies to the Farmers in order to try and fix the mess he created.show more

let me make sure i’m understanding this correctly the... supreme court is refunding all tariff money back to corporations. the same corporations that didn’t pay a single cent of those tariffs to begin with. they passed every dollar directly to you through higher prices on everything you buy you went to the store and paid more for groceries. you paid more for clothes. for car parts. for literally everything. that money came out of YOUR pocket not theirs and now the refund goes to THEM? the corporations who used the tariffs as an excuse to raise prices even higher than the tariff itself and pocket the difference the american people funded the tariffs. the corporations profited off the tariffs. and now the corporations get a refund on money they never spent in the first place and nobody in washington thinks the people who actually paid should get the money back. not a single person has even suggested it guess we are never getting our DOGE checks either this country does not work for you. it works for them. it’s a joke and they’re not even pretending anymoreshow more

BREAKING: Kevin Hassett blames the media for Trump’s chaotic... tariff mess: “I don’t think anything should really be a surprise if people stopped and studied, but it seems like with a lot of the coverage, people rush to get the coverage out and didn’t really think to get the logic of it.” Ah yes, let’s talk about “rushing” and “thinking through the logic.” Can someone please walk me through the logic of slapping massive, blanket tariffs on China, supposedly to “bring jobs back,” or was it “raise tax revenue,” or maybe “secure fair trade deals,” only to then remove those same tariffs from the very industries that actually could move back to the U.S.? Meanwhile, China keeps its own retaliatory tariffs firmly in place. So... was there a strategy here, or are we just making it up as we go and blaming the media when it falls apart?show more
