Ever heard of a Variable Stator Vane systems in... Jet Engines ? It's one of the least visible mechanisms inside a modern jet engine, yet one of the reasons engines like the Pratt & Whitney engines achieve 15-20% lower fuel burn than previous generations. A hydraulically actuated ring rotates entire rows of compressor vanes by tiny fractions of a degree, continuously reshaping airflow to prevent compressor stall as the engine transitions from idle to full thrust. The complete modern variable stator vane control system is estimated to cost on the order of $200,000-$450,000 per engine. Without this hidden mechanism, modern high-pressure compressors operating above 40:1 pressure ratios simply wouldn't remain stable. Video :- Aircraft Technicalshow more

OSINT UPDATE: Abdul Aminu, the lead coordinator for extensive... illegal mining operations in Ilesha, is currently operating with the full cooperation and approval of the local community leadership. Video below shows him and the traditional ruler of the community he's conducting is illegal activities, meaning he's given full approval to keep destroying farmland and water bodies all in the guise of mining, which effectively shields his activities from accountability. If this partnership between illegal miners and local heads is allowed to persist, it will inevitably lead to a total security breach, the Osun state government needs to step in before the situation gets out of hand.show more

NASA ARTEMIS II MISSION UPDATE The crew and Orion... are approximately 94,117km to the Moon, they're also just over 350,000km away from Earth. They're also travelling at a speed of approximately 2,523km/h, this will start to increase as the lunar sphere of influence takes a hold of the crew and Orion later today. Approximately 41.8% of the mission has been completed. Currently the crew is into the Orion Crew Survival System Suit Developmental Flight Objective (OCSS DFTO) operations, which is essentially a simulated emergency onboard the spacecraft and involves the OCSS suits being donned along with the crews strapping themselves into their seats and the cabin pressure being dropped to 10.2 PSI. This of course is one of many extremely important objectives that is being performed during the duration of this test flight around the Moon. OTC (Outbound Trajectory Correction) burn #3 is also still planned for later today, this is very much subject to change though if NASA decides to skip this burn also. We will be sure to keep you updated if this changes. And yes, I can in fact confirm the toilet is still working! Be sure to check out our Artemis II Real Time Tracking 24/7 stream if you'd like to watch all the action unfold in real time! What you are looking at is a 2005 GMC... Canyon that came in for an AC issue. Right away I found the Schrader valve leaking Freon. I evacuated the system to replace both high and low side Schrader valves and came to find out it was full of refrigerant at 0.73 kilograms, which is full to specifications. The last shop told the owner the system was junk and needed everything replaced: compressor, condenser, and all. Want to know what the problem was? They unplugged the compressor clutch and said the system was cooked. I plugged the compressor back in, replaced the Schrader valves, evacuated and refilled it. It blows ice cold, and the low side was running at 30 psi on a 90-degree day. There are some very shady motherfuckers in Vegas, that’s what I have to say about that.show more

According to Chinese netizens, the Ministry of Water Resources posted this video accompanied by the text provided below. If further proof were needed that the CCP is indifferent to the fate of the Chinese citizens killed in the dam disaster—or those who lost all their possessions in it—posting such a video provides it. The video has reportedly been deleted since. To clarify: the music in the video was produced by us. And to clarify further: the information presented here comes from Chinese netizens. Now the text of China's Ministry of Water Resources: Between June 22 and July 10, China's Ministry of Water Resources carried out a water and sediment regulation operation on the Yellow River. 🇬🇧 The British Nlaw Anti Tank Missile: An unsung... hero of the full scale invasion of Ukraine 🇺🇦 There are many factors for Ukraine's survival, many vital factors that led to success. Here is just one of them. Two and a half months after the Full scale invasion started, Ukrainian military officials had claimed the Nlaw anti tank was responsible for 40% of destroyed Russian armour in Ukraine. The NLAW is a British-designed and commissioned system, developed to UK specifications and manufactured by Sweden’s Saab Bofors Dynamics in partnership with the UK’s Thale Air Defence. It was created to give infantry a lightweight, easy-to-use system capable of defeating modern main battle tanks. The NLAW is a fire-and-forget, shoulder-fired missile that uses Predicted Line of Sight guidance. The operator tracks the moving target for just a few seconds before launch, allowing the system to calculate the target’s speed and direction. Once fired, the missile flies autonomously along that predicted path exploding over the tank directing its explosive evergy downwards where its targets armour is at it's weakest, for Russian tanks, where it also stores it's ammo. On February 10th, 2 weeks before the Full scale invasion. there was an article in the British news publication The Daily Mail. The Title: 'God save the Queen!': Ukrainian troops say British NLAW missiles are a 'game-changer' as they train to fight Russian forces and warn 'crazy' Putin: 'We will kill for our homeland' At this point, the British government had seen troops amassing, and rushed over 2,000 Nlaw units to Ukraine, along with 30 paratroopers to train Ukrainian forces in operating the NLAWs, knowing that if the Russians moved, there would be waves of logisitics and tanks moving in. An Nlaws wet dream. There was notoriety for American Javelins that were delivered after the invasion of Crimea, however at this point, most had been used in skirmishes with Russian ocupiers and only received more units after the full scale invasion. Ben Wallace, who at the time served as Secretary of Defence of the United Kingdom who was nicknamed by Ukrainian officials as 'The Man That Saved Kyiv' for various reasons had previously had seen satalite data, and went to work imediately to push for shipment of the weapons in which by April when it was sited they were responsible for 40% of Russian armour losses, 4,200 units had been delivered by March within 4 weeks of the invasion. Military analysts have since credited the rapid delivery and effectiveness of these British made weapons as a key factor in halting Russia’s initial blitzkrieg style assault. They empowering small units with the ability to take out main battle tanks, the NLAW helped transform Ukraine's defense strategy into a formidable deterrent buying critical time and saving the capital from likely occupation and later serving as a deadly tool for gorilla warfare. Russian tanks were moving in and the signle Ukrainians were taking out armoured tanks on foot with weapons worth 25k-38k USD per unit and weights just 12.5 kg, some were carrying 2 Nlaws on their backs at once. When it came to Nlaws, they were having a fucking field day smashing up anything Russian made of steel. Thank you for reading and if you have enjoyed what I have written, I would appreciate if you share it. - Bricktop I will leave you with these guys, this video was uploaded online within 4 days of the invasion which got me laughing, the guys say: "Muscovite fuckers will be fucked" "I'll set you alight"show more

According to reports, the Main Directorate of Intelligence for... Ukraine carried out a covert operation earlier today within the village of Zhitovaya near Vladivostok in Russia’s Far East, over 4,000 miles from Ukraine. During the operation, several explosions were seen and heard at a military base housing the 47th Airborne Assault Battalion, 155th Marine Infantry Brigade of the Russian Navy, which Ukrainian Intelligence has accused of war crimes near Kyiv and throughout the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Multiple members of the unit responsible for said war crimes were reportedly liquidated and seriously injured in the blast, in what appears to be the furthest operation carried out by Ukraine since the full-scale invasion by Russia began in 2022. Military and police have cordoned off the area around the base, with authorities claiming that there was a “gas explosion” in Zhitovaya, though no further details have been provided by the Russian Ministry of Defense.show more

Svitlana, a nurse from the 128th Brigade of the... Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine, destroyed a group of Russian occupiers with a well-aimed shot from a grenade launcher, saving her unit from encirclement. When the Russians attacked with armored vehicles and landing forces, Svitlana was at the company stronghold. At that moment, the unit was left without a commander, so she took command. Svitlana received instructions via radio from the battalion commander. After a group of Russians entered one of the houses from the rear and took fire control of the escape routes, Ukrainian Warriors were surrounded. At first, Svitlana fired back together with her brothers-in-arms. But when it became clear that the unit’s positions were surrounded, the woman picked up a disposable grenade launcher. "I asked the guys to hold on and in no case leave their positions, because then we would definitely not be able to stand it. I took a disposable grenade launcher and went to meet the Russian attack unit. They got too close – they were only two houses away. I went around them, got up and fired a shot into the window of the house. The entire group of occupiers remained there," Svitlana recalls. For her heroism, she was awarded the Cross of the Ground Forces. Svitlana worked as a nurse in the intensive care unit of the Mechnikov Hospital in Dnipro. She voluntarily went to the front from the first days of the full-scale invasion. Source: The 128th Territorial Defense Brigade's press serviceshow more

I've seen a lot of animatics lately that are... super detailed, essentially viewport previews of the final shot. But an animatic at it's core doesn't need to be anything fancy. Its main purpose is to plan and test the timing, camera angles, movement, and overall composition. With animatics you have to keep in mind the following: Pre-visualization: It allows to see a basic version of the animation or scene before committing to detailed work. Timing and pacing: An animatic helps identify how long each scene or shot should last, ensuring that the timing feels right. Planning: It helps with layout, camera angles, and transitions. By visualizing the shots, the team can ensure that the framing and overall design of the scenes work well in 3D space. Efficiency: It allows the team to test and fix any potential issues early on, like awkward movements or awkward pacing, before spending time on high-quality rendering or complex animation. In short, an animatic helps in conceptualizing the final animation by giving a low-res, rough version of the scenes, which guides the entire production process in terms of visual design, timing, and storytelling.show more
