The Future is Hybrid Experiment 1: “Physically” picking up... a virtual 3D figure and placing it in a new location. Traditional VFX: very difficult. GenAI-only: no intention, no control. Hybrid: used Simulon to lock placement/scale/lighting + start/end frames, then use Google DeepMind Veo to generate the interaction between them. Full breakdown + decision trail on Substack.show more

How I made the video below (17s): 1. Use... Nano Banana to generate keyframes (a consistent world + full environment) 2. Use Kling with first/last frame reference to generate the in-between shots (bring the keyframes to life) 3. Use CapCut for revisions and editing (pacing, transitions, SFX, subtitles) There are three main challenges: 1. Getting AI to produce story-driven visuals: you need to bake relationships and narrative intent into the prompt 2. Writing prompts in cinematic language: specify shot types, camera movement, and framing changes to make transitions smoother 3. Editing is the real “ceiling”: assembling shots, controlling rhythm, building emotion, and syncing sound with visuals all come down to editing Making AI shorts is basically a hybrid job: writer-director + editor. If you understand storytelling and camera grammar—and then cut it with the right rhythm—the results get dramatically better.show more

How to generate 3D miniature city models and animate... them using Kling AI? This visual effect can be created with Kling O1, and then rotated in 3D using Image to Video. The image prompt used for generation is as follows: Present a clear, 45° top-down isometric miniature 3D cartoon scene of New York featuring its most iconic landmarks and architectural elements. Use soft, refined textures with realistic PBR materials and gentle, lifelike lighting and shadows. Integrate the current weather conditions directly into the city environment to create an immersive atmospheric mood.Use a clean, minimalistic composition with a soft, solid-colored background. At the top-center, place the title "New York" in large bold text in white. You can create different effects by changing the city name according to your needs.show more

✨ Made a new mini feature on Photo AI:... [ Grab from 3d model ] So the problem is we're at that stage in time (typical for AI) where image-to-3d models are not good enough but are fun to play with, but we know they'll be good enough in 1-2 years With [ Make 3d model ] you already can turn any Photo AI pic into a 3d model but it still looks hyper clunky and deformed, but it works! One cool idea I had to make that more useful and made now: Let people make a 3d model then change the view of the it with the 3d viewer, then press [ o ] and it grabs a frame of the 3d That image you can then [ Remix ] (img2img), and it becomes a real photo again and that in turn you can then turn into a video again with [ Make video ] So that essentially gives you a fully freeform camera position control to take photos with One thing I need to fix is the background/skybox, I kinda need to take the original photo and remove the person and just get the background for the 3d model viewer, in this case it should be white, but it's a start!show more

🚨BREAKING: Google just merged Gemini and NotebookLM into one... unified workspace and it changes everything about how you use AI for deep work. It's called Notebooks in Gemini and it's the personal knowledge base that power users have been begging for. You create a notebook for a project, drop in your files, PDFs, and documents, give Gemini custom instructions, and every chat you have stays organized in one place. No more hunting through old conversations. No more re-uploading the same files every session. The wildest part is the sync. Anything you add in Gemini automatically appears in NotebookLM. Anything you add in NotebookLM automatically appears in Gemini. One source of truth. Two powerful apps. Zero friction switching between them. So you can start a research notebook in Gemini, ask it questions all week, then flip to NotebookLM to generate a Cinematic Video Overview from the same material. Next morning, open Gemini and ask it to write a full report on exactly what you just watched. That workflow used to take three apps and a lot of copy-pasting. Now it's one notebook. Rolling out this week to Google AI Ultra, Pro, and Plus subscribers on web. Mobile and free users coming soon. What do you think?show more

1. No, we can't recreate a universally perfect liquid... glass in Figma that will adapt to any UI on the background. 2. Yes, we can create a slightly fake version. The secret is to use 1 additional nested layer that will have 2 effects — blurring the background and deforming it. All additional lighting effects should be used on the main container where this background layer sits. These are my best numbers for it so far.show more

The next frontier in AI video isn't better motion... - it's better perspective. What used to require a full production setup, camera rig, location scout, multi-shot choreography - now starts with a single image inside Comfy. Creator seungho__yeo ( IG ) used Hyper POV + Seedance 2 to build a complete cinematic space traversal from one still frame: → Aggressive first-person orbit through the full environment → Fly-through movement that inhabits the space, not just records it → Motion blur and single-take continuity that holds the cinematic feel end to end → No cuts. No rig. One image as the source of truth. This is what perspective design looks like at the new baseline.show more

This guy built a visual scanner that reads 468... points on his face and 42 points on his hands from a regular webcam and turns them into a cloud of thousands of particles right between his palms. Inside, MediaPipe and TouchDesigner are linked: the first captures hands and face from the webcam with high accuracy, the second turns those coordinates into a live plane and feeds it into a POP system that instantly generates a swarm of particles in the shape of a head. No studio, no render farmer, no VR headset. Just a laptop, a webcam, and 1 TouchDesigner session. And traditional VJ studios keep teams of 5 people on a setup with lighting, custom hardware, and commercial plugins, while his expenses are only a TouchDesigner subscription and a regular USB camera. One laptop runs MediaPipe and TouchDesigner simultaneously, holds the camera stream at 60 FPS without drops, and in parallel processes 468 face points + 21 points on each hand. The camera captures frame after frame, MediaPipe in real time sends TouchDesigner the finger coordinates and face geometry, and the POP operator inside the engine translates those numbers into thousands of particle points with colors from bright pink to gold. This setup immediately defines the role of the tool and the limits of its autonomy. It knows where the fingertips are at every moment of the frame. It knows how to read the face geometry at any angle to the camera. It knows how to draw a swarm of particles between them with the right color and contour. → MediaPipe pulls 468 points from the face and 21 points from each hand, 60 times per second → TouchDesigner receives those coordinates, builds a virtual rectangle between the fingertips, and feeds it into the POP system → POP generates thousands of particle points in the shape of a head, coloring them in a gradient from bright pink to gold → The HUD layer adds green corners and a blue neon frame, styling the image like an AR interface → All layers assemble into 1 real-time frame that projects back onto the video in the camera window → The final image is recorded to a file or broadcast to a projector for a live installation And only when the guy spreads his hands wider does the plane between the palms stretch; brings them together, it narrows. Otherwise the system runs on its own. And when he moves from his home room to a concert hall, the same laptop with the same webcam launches the same TouchDesigner session in just 5 minutes, without reconfiguration, without a new team, and without a single line of new code. In his work setup there is no studio of his own and no team for assembly. On the desk sits a laptop with a webcam, on top run MediaPipe and TouchDesigner with POP operators, and the same setup through a USB camera moves to any concert without a new configuration. Out of everything I have seen this year, this is the cleanest Creative Coding setup on 1 laptop: 0 render farms, 0 studio lighting, and between them 3 libraries, thousands of particle points, and 1 webcam.show more

Imagine making 2D concept art for a game world... –pressing a button – and suddenly you can walk around an interactive 3D world. That's what Google DeepMind's new paper Genie 2 can do – simulate virtual worlds, including the consequences of any action (e.g. unlock door, jump, swim etc). Right now Genie 2 can generate consistent worlds for up to a minute. And this world model seems to generate larger 3D worlds than what World Labs showcased yesterday. Plus they're dynamic vs. static worlds – the foliage moves in the wind, the water ripples etc. Not quite ready for prime time, but promising on two fronts: 1. For game developers: enabling rapid prototyping of interactive experiences straight from concept art 2. For AI research: providing unlimited, diverse 3D environments for training and testing AI agents The race for building the biggest, baddest world model is very much on. Meanwhile, all I can think is "if only Stadia was still around!"show more

Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left Right, B,... A…❤️ As a kid I called the Konami Code the “Contra Code.” I played with friends and instinctively recall “Select, Start” at the end, which gives 30 lives for 2 players. Yet “Select” scrolls to the 2 player option and “Start” is necessary to start the game. Thus, it’s technically not part of the code. Pressing only “Start” after goes to 1 player mode with 30 lives. Notably, the 1st Nintendo Power issue’s “Classified Information” section explicitly included “Start” when disclosing the sequence. The Konami Code was initially created by Kazuhisa Hashimoto while testing the arcade to console port of Gradius, which he found too difficult. (It also “includes” Start to start the game.) There, it gave access to all power ups ups. Why it stayed in Gradius is unclear, and it appears in future Konami games, most famously Contra. It confers 30 lives in Contra, Life Force, and others, and is sometimes called “the 30 Lives Code.” The effect can vary in different games. As kids, knowing the code was like magic. We imparted it to our friends like a fabled wisdom. Like riding a bike, I’ll never forget it, and I smile inputting it now just as much as I did as a child. No shame in it—Nintendo codes were and still are rad. Homages to the Konami Code outside of gaming are ubiquitous, including in Wreck it Ralph, unlocking Amazon’s “Super Alexa,” and even unlocking a chiptune version of the National Anthem on a Bank of Canada website! Also, Contra’s soundtrack is so good…I hope I’m not the only dork who takes a moment to jam out to it 🤭show more

M E S S I E R | P2P... Exchange We’re starting a new post series to spotlight what’s coming next on our platform. 🔍 First up: P2P Cross-Chain Swaps One of the most requested features is now in development. Direct peer-to-peer swaps between blockchains with no bridges, no wrapping, and no third-party custody. Our new cross-chain engine will let users trade tokens across chains with full ownership and transparency. Every order settles on-chain, routed through verified endpoints, and executed directly between wallets. For example, a user will be able to swap $ETH on Ethereum for $SOL on Solana in one transaction. No detours. No synthetic tokens. This is the multi-chain future through a true P2P lens.show more

Microsoft is testing a new feature in Windows 11... called Low Latency Profile that gives a short boost to your CPU for 1 to 3 seconds when you open apps or menus. Early tests show Microsoft apps like Edge and Outlook open up to 40% faster, while the Start menu and other menus can load up to 70% faster, with CPU use jumping high for a few seconds then dropping right back down. Microsoft says this is normal because Apple does it in macOS and Linux, plus phones use the same type of quick CPU boosts for better speed. The feature is only in early Insider testing now, so it is not out for everyone yet.show more

The former Mark 1 plant is fully engulfed in flames. Smoke can be seen for miles. The plant was evacuated before the fire reached its current scale, and no injuries have been reported. Plastics recycling fires are notoriously difficult to suppress. They burn hot, generate enormous amounts of toxic smoke, and can take days to fully extinguish. 🌀 #Live3D #Live2D #Live2DWIP 🌀 Today, I’d like to... share two of the three methods I use to create joint twisting in my Live2D-based 2D Pseudo-3D concept. On the right is the Glue Joint: The basic idea is to use Glue to connect two pseudo-3D ArtMeshes. By taking advantage of Glue’s weight settings, it can create an effect similar to a 3D joint. Once the weights are set up, it can move very freely with a relatively low amount of work. However, it also shares the same weakness as 3D joints: when rotated at large angles, it can produce unpleasant twisting and distortion. On the left is the Hand-Bent Joint: The basic idea is to add bending Keyforms directly to a Warp Deformer, then manually sculpt the ideal deformation. This method can create the most detailed and refined joints, depending entirely on how the rigger designs them. The downside is that it requires much more work. Every additional degree of freedom requires a significant amount of manual adjustment. These two joint methods have almost opposite characteristics, so in actual Live3D work, I choose the most suitable method depending on the situation. For example, in this hand model, I used Hand-Bent Joints for the arm twisting and fingers, while the wrist uses a Glue Joint.✨show more

cmon... this is so fun. Prompt here if you... want to steal it: Continuous shot with no scene cuts. Camera is traveling forward between trees kanopes and different things are on the tree branches. The light is low, it comes through tall trees and the foliage of leaves casts an interesting patterned shadow and light on to the scene. First we see a tamarin monkey looking very close to the lens, mostly it's face is visible and on of the hand trying to reach through the lens, then a man on his laptop in brown suit and yellow ties with red baseball hat, then a yellow giant snake around a branch, we see the texture of the snake and it's wet skin from a macro view. Then an orangutan taking a selfie then lanterns hanging from the branches then a bunch an area where fluffy clouds mixing with the tree leafs where a plane wreck is smoking and slightly on fire. Handheld documentary style. Natural camera shake. Raw indie film aesthetic. Heavy grain. Natural lighting only. Unpolished, authentic look. Low budget realism. Observational feel.show more
