Ubuntu Core 26 has arrived. Ubuntu Core 26 is... now generally available, bringing precise Linux builds, optimized OTA updates, live kernel patching, and enhanced hardware-backed protection for mission-critical deployments. "Ten years ago, Ubuntu Core pioneered a new OS security model, where every component is strictly confined, transactionally updated, and independently verifiable. Today, that approach is reflected in emerging industry standards. With Ubuntu Core 26, we continue to deliver the foundation that critical infrastructure operators need to meet the Cyber Resilience Act, run attested, immutable edge AI workloads, and manage devices securely at scale," said Jon Seager, VP of Ubuntu Engineering at Canonical. Every space mission begins long before launch day. Ideas... become spacecraft. Thousands of decisions are made before a single engine ignites. The European Space Agency (ESA) knows what that journey looks like. As the agency prepares to increase the missions it supports by 2030, it is laying the groundwork for decades of future exploration. Working with Canonical, ESA is building a common platform for mission operations based on open source. Kubernetes, Ceph, PostgreSQL, and Kafka form ESA’s infrastructure foundation. RoadScan-AI-Automated-Pothole-Detection-Tracking RoadScan AI is a computer vision system built... to automatically detect and track potholes in road footage — including dashcam, drone, and fixed-camera video. At its core, the system uses a YOLO11n model fine-tuned on a custom pothole dataset, paired with ByteTrack for multi-object tracking. This enables the system to maintain a consistent identity for each pothole across frames rather than treating every detection as a new, isolated event.show more

Over the past 6 months, we've rearchitected Cline's agentic... loop into a standalone "cline core" gRPC service that runs independently of any editor. This enabled us to decouple from VS code and build - JetBrains (released in GA this week) - CLI built in Go (releasing soon) - Secret project that may be announced soon The CLI is our newest product and will ship without a TUI. Our focus is to release a true primitive. something close to the metal that pipes cleanly into RL environments, CI/CD systems, scripts, and automation workflows. Any "presentation layer" mentioned above can connect to the same running cline core - maintaining full feature parity (e.g. checkpoints, settings, api configurations), context, and conversation state. There's an SQLite-based instance and file/directory lock registry that prevents port conflicts and coordinates graceful shutdowns between paired processes - so you can start up thousands of cline instances in parallel with no conflicts or dangling processes. What's remarkable is that this cline core architecture opens Cline to any interface imaginable: mobile apps, web dashboards, custom tools - all powered by the same intelligent core that understands your codebase.show more

If any company wants to build a constellation that can compete with Starlink, its satellites should be designed around a deployment system like this from day one.show more

IoTeX was selected by Messari as a core case... study in its new AI report, cited alongside World, Coinbase 🛡️, Openτensor Foundaτion and others. Messari’s research underscores a bigger shift: real-world AI needs verified data, and IoTeX is the first full stack infrastructure that can supply it. Live device data becomes verifiable insight, ready for real-world agentic deployment. Quicksilver is already proving this in production with DIMO, Nubila Network and more, powering agentic applications built on IoTeX-verified real-world intelligence. 🚨 SCIENTISTS JUST FOUND AN ANCIENT OCEAN FLOOR WRAPPED... AROUND EARTH’S CORE. Using seismic waves recorded by stations buried in Antarctic ice, researchers have created the highest-resolution map yet of the boundary between Earth’s mantle and outer core nearly 3,000 km beneath our feet. They discovered thin but widespread patches of dense material that dramatically slow down seismic waves. The most likely explanation: these are fragments of ancient oceanic crust that sank into the deep mantle long ago and have been moved around by convection currents for hundreds of millions of years. In some places, these structures rise up to five times higher than Mount Everest. Why this matters: • It reveals that Earth’s deep interior is far more complex and dynamic than we thought • These patches likely influence how heat flows from the core into the mantle, which affects mantle convection and volcanic activity • They may also play a role in the behavior of Earth’s magnetic field, which is generated in the outer core • Understanding this boundary helps us better model how our planet has evolved over billions of years The deeper implication: We usually think of the deep Earth as relatively simple layers. This research shows that the core-mantle boundary is more like a rugged, geologically active landscape with ancient “mountains” made of recycled ocean floor. It’s a powerful reminder that Earth is a single, interconnected system what happens at the surface (like plate tectonics) can eventually end up reshaping the deepest parts of our planet, and vice versa. We’re still only beginning to map the true complexity hidden beneath our feet. How do you think discovering ancient ocean crust at the core-mantle boundary changes the way we should think about Earth’s internal dynamics?
