vibecoding UI animations with Claude using Three.js to paint... the images onto a 2d plane that gets stretched by the corners and distorted with RGB offset/chromatic aberration devs of the past would have spent more time arguing that it cant be done than it took me to create itshow more

This was made in three.js with Astra using just... one prompt and images of the Teenage Engineering TP-7. It’s very cool that it can recreate things this well, but what happens when you ask it to create something that does not exist?show more

Part of the reason IT people are being laid... off is that many of their abilities can be replaced by AI. In the past, the joke was that you would just google it, but that still required some IT knowledge. Now, you can ask AI how to fix an issue and it will walk you through how to fix most things. (if you have admin permissions to your computer) To be fair, no one knows all the weird nuances and issues that can arise with software so google has always been used to find IT fixes - but it took more research and knowing how to implement the fix before.show more

ok first impressions of claude 3.7 sonnet max on... cursor VERY good at planning out your project first - seems to have way more of an understanding of the codebase i had it whip up a set of instructions to create a cursor rules tool that lets you mix/match and output in the format you want (including .cursor/rules/{rule}.mdc, .windsurfrules, .clinerules and legacy .cursorrules) still struggled with new versions of packages and i need to riff on the ui but this is impressive and i'll be using it more to plan features with!show more

ok that is a LOT more responsive than I... thought it would be, trimming up the motion from a gyro might have to be done carefully. might need a filter too?show more

This bugs me more than it should. This is... Ghostty, but it happens to other software. Characters on the corners are cropped by the border radius of the window. I like macOS in general, but wish Apple would roll back the rounded corners a tad.show more

The Tennessee Titans almost won this game and a... few plays would have done it or lost it. This play here to me is the one that crushed them. After a great run by Spears, we see this happen. It killed the drive. Got to be better #55.show more

The gold standard fluid interactions on iOS are built... using in-process client animations (like SwiftUI does it) and not render-server animations (like CoreAnimation does it). This is common knowledge inside of Apple’s UI framework and system experience teams. A close inspection of iOS’s evolution reveals the gradual upgrading of system experiences written using render-server animations (that often disable user interaction) with ones using client animations (that are interruptible and interactive). The app switcher for iPhone X, the Dynamic Island, and Liquid Glass bars are prime examples of this trend. The other thing that makes these experiences feel so fluid is their use of spring animations that preserve velocity, rather than Bézier curve easing functions. To get velocity preservation, you need to be able to interrupt a spring animation and retarget it or drive it with a gesture. That’s a lot easier to do when the animation is running in the same process as the event handling. When we were first pitching SwiftUI, two of our go-to demos were a recreation of the iOS 9 navigation and Home Screen interactions which were fully interactive and interruptible, at a time when the actual implementations of those experiences in the OS disabled user interaction and ran server-side animations. CoreAnimation is great and the framework does much more than animation. You can build a fine app using its server-side animations. But if your UI framework can’t do efficient main thread client animations, there’s a ceiling to the quality of the experience your app can provide.show more

I think this is an excellent idea to tear... down the statue of George Floyd & replace it with a Statue of Charlie Kirk. Plus they could make that Statue of Charlie Kirk a National Monument. I still don't understand why everyone is not using... this yet. Thanks to it, a year ago I increased my income to 17,000 dollars a month Andrey Karpathy, co-founder of OpenAI, published a simple idea that got 16 million views: stop using AI to write code, use it to build a second brain You point Claude Code to a folder, drop any source in there (an article, transcript, PDF) and Claude reads it, links it, and saves it into a living wiki of everything you know. It compounds like interest: the more you feed it, the smarter it gets Here is the gist: Install Obsidian, create a vault, open it in Claude Code Paste the file with Karpathy's wiki idea and tell Claude to build it Claude creates three folders: raw for sources, wiki for its pages, CLAUDE which runs everything Drop any source into raw and say "ingest this" Ask questions across everything, forever Five minutes to set up, and you never start with an empty chat again The full step-by-step guide is in the article. I genuinely don't understand why everyone isn't using this... yet Andrej Karpathy, a co-founder of OpenAI, posted a simple idea that hit 16 million views: stop using AI to write code, use it to build a second brain. You point Claude Code at a folder, drop in any source, an article, a transcript, a PDF, and Claude reads it, links it, and files it into a living wiki of everything you know. It compounds like interest, the more you feed it, the smarter it gets. Here's the whole thing: > Install Obsidian, create a vault, open it in Claude Code > Paste Karpathy's wiki idea file and tell Claude to build it > Claude makes three folders: raw for sources, wiki for its pages, a CLAUDE.md that runs it > Drop any source into raw and say "ingest this" > Ask questions across everything, forever Five minutes to set up, and you never start from a blank chat again.
