Today's heavy rain around 3:00 PM exposed a serious... civic issue. The drainage grate on the Veerannapalya Flyover (Nagawara to Hebbal road) became completely blocked with garbage, causing severe waterlogging. Within minutes, the flyover was flooded, forcing traffic to come to a standstill and resulting in a 3–4 km traffic jam. I was at home when I noticed the heavy congestion on Google Maps. I immediately put on my raincoat and rushed to the location. By the time I arrived, Sector Cobra personnel had also reached the spot. Together, we cleared the garbage blocking the drainage grate. Within 15 minutes, the water drained away and traffic resumed smoothly. What surprised me the most was that more than 100 people were standing there watching, yet no one stepped forward to remove the debris. If just a few people had taken the initiative, thousands of commuters could have been spared from unnecessary delays. Even more concerning is the negligence of the agencies responsible for maintaining stormwater drains. Because of poor maintenance, the burden often falls on Traffic Police, Traffic Wardens, volunteers, and responsible citizens to solve problems that should have been prevented in the first place. Let's not be citizens who only complain. Whenever it is safe to do so, let's become part of the solution. Sometimes, a small act of responsibility can save thousands of people from inconvenience. A responsible city is built by responsible citizens. Let's all do our part. The traffic situation in Bengaluru has reached a point... that is nothing short of insane. It seems almost as if traffic jams are being created humanly, simply due to ignorance and lack of traffic sense. One recurring problem is the behavior of the 500CA buses near Jeevika Hospital, where frequent U-turns disrupt the flow of traffic, causing unnecessary congestion on an already busy stretch. A practical solution would be to stop these buses from making U-turns at Jeevika Hospital and instead divert them via the service road onto the Marathahalli bridge, continuing towards Kunhalli. Such a small change in traffic management could significantly reduce jams, improve commuter experience, and make daily travel less stressful for thousands of motorists. It’s high time that small yet effective measures like this are implemented to restore some sanity to Bengaluru’s roads. #bangalore #bengaluru #orr #marathahalli Greater Bengaluru Authority Maheshwar Rao.M, IAS ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ BengaluruCityPolice ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಸಂಚಾರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ BengaluruTrafficPolice CP Bengaluru ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಆಯುಕ್ತ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು Joint CP, Traffic, Bengaluru alok kumar DGP KARNATAKA ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ Karnataka State Police S. Dear DCP Traffic Gurugram Gurugram Traffic Police 1. Wrong-side... driving is a common occurance in our city ... attached a few videos taken today at 6pm Xavier’s School intersection, GCER 2. large number of two-wheelers are also using the pavement/footpath to bypass the long signal, putting : a)pedestrians at risk and b)causing further damage and breakage to the pavers, which are already in a state of disrepair. This issue has been brought to the authorities notice several times. 3. Incidentally, a police checkpost/booth is barely 50–100 metres from this intersection, where traffic violations are regularly monitored. While signal jumping may occasionally be challaned, there appears to be little or no enforcement against wrong-side driving, wrong-side overtaking, and two-wheelers using the footpath to bypass the signal. 4.Please check the CCTV footage from this intersection around 6:00 PM and take appropriate action. This is not only a traffic violation but also a serious pedestrian safety concern and is contributing to damage of public infrastructure. 5. Please also instruct e-commerce and delivery platforms to ensure their riders are properly briefed and held accountable for following traffic rules, particularly regarding wrong-side driving, wrong-side overtaking and using pavements/footpaths to bypass signals. Manikonda Residents Demand Immediate Road Widening and Traffic Relief... Today, residents of Manikonda and surrounding colonies gathered at Marrichettu and conducted a Walkathon up to OU Colony, demanding immediate widening of the Marrichettu–OU Colony Road, which has become severely congested. The traffic situation is particularly unbearable during peak hours. Commuters, pedestrians, senior citizens and school-going children are facing serious difficulties. Most importantly, emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire tenders are often unable to move freely, creating a serious threat to public safety. The Manikonda Praja AIKYA Vedika, a people’s movement, demands the following immediate measures: Immediate widening of the Marrichettu–OU Colony Road to address the chronic traffic congestion. Immediate opening of alternate routes, including the TRAILS–Road No.10, Panchavati Colony Box Drain-cum-Road, which was constructed nearly two years ago at a cost of about ₹10 crore from taxpayers’ money. This road is a public asset and cannot be kept unused or effectively left for the exclusive benefit or usage of a private builder. Construction of the Shivpuri–Chitrapuri route via Jana Chaitanya Colony to provide an additional alternative corridor and reduce pressure on the existing road network. Shifting of the RTA Office from Shivpuri Colony, as its present location contributes to traffic congestion and inconvenience to residents. Immediate shifting of all electrical poles obstructing the carriageway and footpaths, ensuring safe and unobstructed movement for pedestrians and vehicles. Utilisation of all available setbacks for road-widening purposes, wherever legally permissible, instead of allowing them to be used as commercial parking spaces that further reduce the effective road width. The residents demand that all these measures be implemented within a clearly defined, time-bound action plan, with responsibility fixed on the concerned authorities. The people of Manikonda have been suffering from this traffic crisis for far too long. Road infrastructure must keep pace with population growth and urban development. Public roads and public assets cannot be allowed to remain underutilised while citizens struggle every day. If the authorities fail to initiate concrete action within a reasonable and time-bound period, the residents will be compelled to launch a mass movement, including a Rasta Roko programme, to draw the attention of the government and ensure their legitimate demands are addressed. Shortly, an Action Committee will be formed to take this issue forward, coordinate with the concerned authorities, and pursue the demands until concrete action is initiated. The Sahakar Nagar underpass, located behind the Mall of... Asia, has been flooded, resulting in multiple cars being submerged in water. Commuters are advised to drive safely and avoid waterlogged underpasses to prevent any mishaps. This situation raises serious concerns about the level of safety provided to citizens by authorities, including D.K. Shivakumar and the BBMP. It is disheartening to see that despite numerous incidents and continuous complaints, the condition of Bengaluru's infrastructure has only worsened. The BBMP appears to be failing in its duties, leaving citizens to fend for themselves during such crises. The flooding of a major underpass not only disrupts daily life but also poses significant risks to the safety and well-being of commuters. The authorities must recognize the urgent need to address these infrastructure issues and take proactive measures to ensure that such incidents do not recur. It is unacceptable for a city of Bengaluru's stature to face such basic infrastructure problems. The residents deserve better from their elected officials and municipal bodies, who should prioritize the improvement and maintenance of essential services to enhance the quality of life for everyone in the city. #bangalore #bengaluru #BangaloreRains #BengaluruRains #BangaloreRain #bbmp @Bbmpcares @BBMPCOMM ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ BengaluruCityPolice ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಸಂಚಾರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ BengaluruTrafficPolice YELAHANKA TRAFFIC PS YALAHANKA NEW TOWN POLICE STATION ACP YELAHANKA BCP YELAHANKA TRAFFIC BTP YELAHANKA BCP CP Bengaluru ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಆಯುಕ್ತ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು DGP KARNATAKA alok kumar S. 🚨 ZRP TRAFFIC COP CAUGHT GRAPPLING FOR STEERING WHEEL... IN MOVING MSHIKASHAIKA 📍 Harare – Wed, 22 Oct 2025 A shocking video has emerged showing a Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) traffic officer grabbing the steering wheel of a moving mshikashika in a crowded street — almost triggering a road disaster. 🎥 The footage shows the uniformed cop forcing his hand on the wheel while the driver struggles to maintain control, with terrified passengers and onlookers shouting as the car keeps moving. ⸻ ⚠️ WHY THIS IS DEADLY •The vehicle could swerve into pedestrians or other cars •The cop and driver risk instant death in a collision •Passengers packed inside could be crushed or thrown out Traffic experts warn that “no officer should ever attempt to seize a moving vehicle.” ⸻ 🚓 PATTERN OF DANGER Similar scenes have been reported before — police clinging to bonnets, smashing windscreens, or jumping onto moving kombis. Critics blame poor enforcement training and a growing bribe culture. ⸻ 💬 PUBLIC OUTCRY “We could have been reporting a fatal accident today,” said one viewer. “Police should protect life, not endanger it,” added another. ⸻ 🧭 ZIMEYE COMMENT When officers become part of the danger, the law itself collapses. This was a near-death moment — one wrong move and lives would have been lost. Watching and hearing about the stampede in Bangalore made... me wonder where we are going ! This is not a national team winning the World Cup ! It’s a mere franchise called RCB which works on commercial lines and does not have a single Hyderabad player in it !? It’s not even a #Hyderabad based team ! The night round officers were totally taken by surprise at 12 in the midnight as hordes of youngsters and revellers descended on Tank bund ,NTR marg and Necklace road and behaved in an unruly manner, sample of which you can see in the videos below, quite alarmingly. Traffic got jammed in all directions . Seeing the situation and the hooliganism , extra forces were rushed and a lathi charge done to disperse the unruly crowd. From a police officer’s perspective, this unannounced celebrations on the streets by large gatherings are a big danger to public safety and may lead to exactly what we saw in Bengaluru. What if there were some deaths in Hyderabad too ? Can anyone expect celebrations for RCB in Hyderabad city ! But with the social media playing a huge role across the country and the globe , perhaps police has to be alert for everyone and everything in future ! Is it humanely possible to do so - is what I am wondering 🤔show more

Attempt to Kill? XL6 Driver Drags Man on Bonnet... in Broad Daylight In Bengaluru A shocking case of road rage was caught on camera on 11th February 2026 at around 12:45 PM on Old Airport Road in Bengaluru. In the disturbing visuals, a Maruti Suzuki XL6 bearing registration number KA03NN4501 can be seen speeding recklessly while a man is lying on the bonnet of the moving vehicle. Eyewitnesses reported that the driver was driving at a very high speed, endangering not only the man on the bonnet but also other commuters on the busy stretch. The man on the bonnet was seen shouting and pleading with the driver to stop the car, but the driver allegedly continued to accelerate without concern for human life. The act has raised serious concerns about public safety and reckless behavior on city roads. Such behavior is not just irresponsible it is criminal. Dragging a person on the bonnet of a speeding car shows a complete disregard for human life and traffic laws. Roads are meant for safe travel, not for settling personal disputes in a life-threatening manner. Incidents like these could have easily resulted in a fatality.Upon further verification, it has come to light that the driver is reportedly a previous offender in cases related to rash driving. Additionally, checks revealed that the vehicle’s insurance policy had expired, which is another violation of the Motor Vehicles Act. Operating a vehicle without valid insurance and engaging in repeated reckless driving reflects blatant negligence and a lack of accountability. According to the DCP EAST, a case has been registered against the driver, and further investigation is underway. Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken as per the law. This incident once again highlights the growing menace of road rage and reckless driving in Bengaluru. Strict enforcement, heavy penalties, and cancellation of licenses for repeat offenders are necessary to ensure that such dangerous individuals are kept off the roads before innocent lives are lost. Karnataka State Police S. Public Safety in Crisis? Another Shocking Murder Raises Alarm... Bells in Bengaluru The shocking murder of Kiran in Bengaluru, specifically in the Ramamurthy Nagar area, has once again raised serious concerns about the state of law and order in the city. The horrifying visuals of the attack, captured on a mobile phone, have left citizens deeply disturbed and fearful. The accused reportedly carried out a brutal machete assault in broad daylight and continued the attack even after the victim had stopped breathing, showing a complete lack of fear of consequences. This incident highlights a troubling reality criminals are increasingly acting with boldness, as if they have no fear of the police or the justice system. When such heinous crimes happen openly on the streets, it shakes public confidence and raises urgent questions about governance and policing. There is growing public frustration regarding the effectiveness of law enforcement and the accountability of those responsible for maintaining safety. As the Home Minister of Karnataka, G. Parameshwara is expected to ensure that citizens feel secure in their own neighborhoods. However, incidents like this make people question whether enough is being done to prevent such crimes and control rising violence.People are demanding stricter action against goons and repeat offenders, faster investigations, and visible policing that can deter such acts. Law and order cannot just exist on paper it must be felt on the ground. If criminals continue to operate without fear, it not only endangers lives but also damages the reputation of the city as a safe place to live. The authorities must take this as a wake-up call and implement stronger measures to restore public trust and ensure that justice is swift and decisive. #bangalore #bengaluru #tcpalya ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ BengaluruCityPolice ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಸಂಚಾರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ BengaluruTrafficPolice CP Bengaluru ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಆಯುಕ್ತ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು Joint CP, Traffic, Bengaluru alok kumar DGP KARNATAKA ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ Karnataka State Police S. URGENT ALERT: Landslide Blocks Teesta River Near Chyakoong, Downstream... Areas Placed on High Alert Mangan, September 6, 2026: A massive landslide occurred early this morning above the Chyakoong River, opposite OC Bhir in North Sikkim. Roughly half of the hillside collapsed into the gorge, temporarily blocking the flow of the Teesta River. District administration and emergency response teams were mobilised immediately after the incident. Police personnel from Chungthang Police Station and Theng Check Post were deployed to the site to monitor the stability of the affected area and the behaviour of the blocked water. Officials said water levels recorded at Sankalang and Phidang outposts remained normal in the hours after the landslide, though the river water had turned heavily turbid and muddy. Both outposts were placed on round-the-clock monitoring. Assessment teams also flagged a wider downstream risk. The landslide debris has formed a natural dam-like blockage on a river that joins the Teesta, located around 60 km upstream from Reang Kongma and 40 km upstream from Rangpo, near the West Bengal border. Officials said this could lead to increased water release from upstream, and warned that a breach of the naturally formed blockage could send a sudden surge of water downstream, first affecting the Tintek area in Sikkim before reaching parts of Kalimpong, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri. According to sources, senior officials held discussions with officers posted downstream to prepare for possible evacuations in case of an emergency. The Police Control Room in Sikkim has been activated and high-alert has been issued warning o vulnerable habitations along the lower belt of the Teesta River basin. The public, workers, anglers and vehicle operators have been advised to stay away from the riverbed, avoid fishing, and refrain from crossing suspension bridges and footpaths along the river until further notice. People were also urged to stay updated through official channels and not to act on unverified rumours circulating on social media. The Teesta River has since resumed its flow following the temporary blockage. Authorities have confirmed this update, but have asked residents in downstream and lower belt areas to remain alert and exercise caution near the riverbanks. The public is advised to avoid going close to the river until the situation is confirmed to be completely safe. Further updates are awaited from ground assessment teams.show more

🆘🚨🌲🌳🌴Save Ganeshkhind Road’s Heritage Trees — Stop the New... Road Widening 🌲🌳🌴🆘🚨 For the second time in 2 years, Pune is watching the same shadow creep over #Ganeshkhind Road. Over 500 mature and heritage trees - banyans, tamarinds, peepals and old-growth giants are again under threat because of a fresh push to widen the road from 36 m to 45 m. These trees are not “obstacles.” They are living infrastructure. They cool our city, anchor its biodiversity, protect its micro-climate, and hold centuries of history in their roots. Mature trees cannot be “replaced” by saplings, and transplanting them has already proven to be fatal in earlier phases across Pune. The December 2023 court directions had clearly asked authorities to follow a sustainable mobility plan and avoid unnecessary tree felling. Yet the same project is being revived, risking another wave of irreversible ecological damage. Instead of widening roads for more private vehicles, Pune needs the opposite: • Better metro ridership, • Reliable bus frequency, • Safe footpaths and cycling tracks, • Efficient last-mile connectivity, • And maintainance of the existing road and flyover and Metro Line 3 infrastructure. We, the citizens, demand: 🍀Immediate cancellation of the proposed Phase-2 road widening on Ganeshkhind Road. Adding One more lane has never solved traffic issue anywhere in the world! 🍀NO FELLING AND TRANSPLANTING OF MATURE AND HERITAGE TREES UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES 🍀A shift in priority toward public transport and people-friendly mobility, not private-vehicle expansion. 🍀Full transparency: publish tree surveys, traffic studies, EIAs, and alternative designs publicly. 🍀Adherence to court directives, the Maharashtra Tree Act, and scientific, climate-sensitive planning #SaveGKTreee #SaveTreesOfPune #NoMoreRoads #Pune #SaveHeritageTreesshow more

Who is dumping garbage under this flyover near MES... Road behind JP Park? And why has this garbage still not been cleaned? The amount of waste piled up here clearly shows this is not garbage thrown in just one day. People have been continuously using this place as an illegal dumping spot without any fear or civic responsibility. Plastic waste, food packets, and other trash are scattered everywhere, turning the area into a health hazard and an eyesore for the public. What happened to basic civic sense? Public spaces and roads are not dumping yards. It is disappointing to see people carelessly throwing garbage wherever they want and then expecting the city to remain clean. Such irresponsible behavior not only damages the environment but also affects the image of Bengaluru. At the same time, authorities also need to answer why this garbage has been allowed to pile up for so long without proper cleaning or monitoring. If regular inspections and strict action were taken, these areas would not turn into mini garbage landfills under flyovers. Both the public and authorities share responsibility here. Citizens must stop treating roadsides as garbage bins, and civic bodies must ensure timely cleaning, install surveillance if needed, and take strict action against those dumping waste illegally.A clean city is possible only when both people and authorities act responsibly. Karnataka State Police S. 🔥Prediction: A major Russian strike on Ukraine is coming... overnight. By tomorrow morning, the situation on the ground will look a whole lot different. 🇺🇸It is imperative that our Secretary of War, the Secretary of State, and the entire presidential cabinet closely monitor every piece of traffic coming out of Europe’s defense forces that mentions anything about a retaliatory or preemptive strike on Russia. 👉European leaders are actively looking for any excuse they can find to drag the United States into a direct war against Russia.
