We built high-throughput materials labs in Menlo Park to... create a loop between experiments and models. The labs generate fresh data, the models learn from it, and then help us decide what to try next. Using only 1,300 H200s, plus months of our experimental data, we mid-trained and RL’d an open-source model to surpass GPT-6 Astra on our analysis benchmark. We call it Neon. This is real footage from our lab. We’re focusing first on hard problems in materials science, including superconductors, magnets, and semiconductor materials. Read our blog posts below.show more

Today we're dropping the "beta" tag from Adaptyv, launching... our new website and announcing our $8M seed round. When we started Adaptyv a few years ago, our core belief was: AI models for biology are only as good as the experimental data they're trained on and the hypotheses they can test in the real world. Now, after a year of working with many great partners, we’ve scaled our infrastructure to the point that we're now open to anyone who wants to use our platform! Overall, this year, over 30 companies started using Adaptyv to validate their protein designs - from some of the biggest pharmas to frontier AI labs to many, many techbio startups. We've run hundreds of experiments, tested well over 10,000 proteins this year and are generating the data that validates the best AI models currently in development.show more

We just ran one of the largest robot models... that exists today, all without a local GPU. And it’s running real-time at <50 ms overhead. Scaling laws are becoming real for physical AI. Perceptron’s Isaac 0.5 is one of the largest open-source models, sitting at 36B total parameters. Perceptron AI joins other frontier robotics labs like Dyna Robotics and Generalist in showing the need to massively scale pre-training data, from a 1000s to millions of hours of video. Specifically, they show that the more egocentric video the model is trained on, the less teleop data that it needs to achieve the same loss. At Dreamscale Labs (YC F26) (YC F26), we’ve noticed an important truth here: data and training compute do not just scale in isolation. The model sizes must increase too, and GPT-6 Astra has given a glimpse into what a trillion-parameter robotics model could do. We’re building to serve that future - one that is not constrained by the bottlenecks of on-board compute, but rather, allowing large models to run fast over the cloud. Today, we’re sharing the history of Foundation Labs, written... from our perspective as founders. What we thought, what we set out to build, and what we learned from six years on the frontier of crypto, culture, commerce, and art. We’re publishing this now while the experience is still fresh. It was important to us that a clear record exists in our own voice, rather than leaving our story to be interpreted by others over time. Our aim is to contribute to the commons. We believe there are many future chapters still to be written with this technology, and we want future founders to be able to reference and build on our experience—to start on second base. We’ll keep this online as a resource for the foreseeable future. To the artists, collectors, investors, and former teammates—thank you for being part of the journey.show more

The good news: you can mid-train yourself to the... frontier! At a fraction of the cost! Without distillation! What we did: We took Qwen3.5 14B and mid- and post-trained it to beat every other open model and perform as well as the very best frontier models. This is no simple toy task or format fixing, we are training the model to understand and reason over DNA sequences. Bio is the next frontier for AI and universal access will be crucial to make progress. The fun part: because we train the model on both natural language and DNA sequences you can actually 'chat to your DNA': Ask it questions, ponder the impact of mutations, or ask it to generate a small sequence. We'll soon see the frontier labs move away from math and cyber towards bio. It already started, and we believe researchers should have access to capable models. We are releasing the full recipe, so you can do it, too! Model: Blog:show more
