The project was supervised by the Qin kingdom (before it became the Qin dynasty, the dynasty that first united the whole of China) and was about dividing the Mingjiang river in two and createb a new river to irrigate the Chengdu plain for agricultural purposes. It was surprisingly liberal for its time. It's about the inner thoughts of a sad mountain spirit (fairy), when her love, a young medicine picker didn't show up. The Kingdoms of Chu and Qin were the last 2 hegemons of the Warring States. Qin was a well oiled war machine, the entire society was dedicated for war. Chu was the opposite, although militarily strong, but lacked that Qin legalist efficiency. Qin eventually unified China and ushered in the Imperial era of China that lasted until 1911.show more
