OpenAI's Deep Research is getting a run for its... money. Deep Lake was just released, and it's a different take on an AI system that can do deep research on your own data. You can use Deep Lake to build AI search with reasoning on your private and public data. (Look at the attached videos to get an idea of how it works.) If you want to research proprietary and sensitive data, Deep Research won't help you because it's limited to public data. Deep Lake, however, will allow you to use your private data. On top of that, Deep Lake supports multi-modal retrieval from the ground up. It uses vision language models for data ingestion and retrieval so that you can connect any data (PDFs, images, videos, structured data, etc.) You can even use mixed-data queries! Depth Any Video with Scalable Synthetic Data AI physicists... and chemists continue to make strides in depth estimation from video. Check out this new paper featuring some impressive examples. Abstract: Video depth estimation has long been hindered by the scarcity of consistent and scalable ground truth data, leading to inconsistent and unreliable results. In this paper, we introduce Depth Any Video, a model that tackles the challenge through two key innovations. First, we develop a scalable synthetic data pipeline, capturing real-time video depth data from diverse game environments, yielding 40,000 video clips of 5-second duration, each with precise depth annotations. Second, we leverage the powerful priors of generative video diffusion models to handle real-world videos effectively, integrating advanced techniques such as rotary position encoding and flow matching to further enhance flexibility and efficiency. Unlike previous models, which are limited to fixed-length video sequences, our approach introduces a novel mixed-duration training strategy that handles videos of varying lengths and performs robustly across different frame rates 0 - even on single frames. At inference, we propose a depth interpolation method that enables our model to infer high-resolution video depth across sequences of up to 150 frames. Our model outperforms all previous generative depth models in terms of spatial accuracy and temporal consistency.show more

Yesterday night, Anthropic was hit with US export control... restrictions around their frontier AI models. 🇺🇸 With these recent export control restrictions, Anthropic may need to verify whether a user is a US national to access certain models or capabilities. I built a small prototype exploring how this can be done using World. The flow: 1. User signs in with World ID 2. World verifies they’re a unique human 3. A passport check proves they're a US national. 4. The app receives only a yes/no proof, and not the user’s passport, name, or raw identity data The idea is simple. AI apps should be able to enforce access rules without becoming full KYC companies or storing sensitive identity documents themselves. Compliance will matter more as AI systems get more powerful, but the best version of compliance should be privacy-preserving by default.show more

This project came from exploring how Al models parse data into frontend components and the development of generative interfaces. I designed and developed the structure through React components (HTML, CSS, JS) for the frontend and Node.js for the backend. This is a testament of how one could develop digital products in a less frustrating and more flexible way with the use of Al, particularly when it comes to getting the styling and functionality right.
