⚽️ Cutback Small Sided Game 🗣️ This is a... practice from drill library. This small-sided game is played with 4v4 teams and 4 neutral players positioned at the 4 corners of the grid, known as the 'cutback' zones. The objective is to score 1 goal to win the game. After each goal, the losing team will switch with the neutral players, ensuring that both teams get equal opportunities in different roles. The neutral players are restricted to 1 touch, and the team in possession is encouraged to use them to create goal-scoring chances through quick cutbacks, crosses, or switching the play. The attacking team should aim to exploit the neutral zones to stretch the defense, pull defenders out of position, and open up space for a final delivery into the box. The defenders will need to be aware of their positioning and try to prevent passes into the neutral zones by maintaining close coverage on their opponents.show more

Contrary to what many believe, we don’t want our... feet landing from the prep step at the exact moment the bat makes contact. Why? Because if you land a fraction early, your feet can become stuck and stagnant. Instead, aim to be a fraction of a second late. As your eyes read the angle of the bat through the hitting zone, your feet can begin to self align in the direction you need to go. This doesn’t mean jumping higher or creating a bigger prep step. Stay low to the ground, athletic and ready to move. Being a fraction late takes practice and a high level understanding of how to be on time every pitch. But when done correctly, it can gain you inches or even a couple feet of range in either direction. And in the infield, that distance matters. Teams that don’t strike out at a high clip... win more games. Simple as that. This is amplified at the college level — and even more at the high school level and below. Once you get to two strikes, it becomes a team at-bat. Grind it out. Compete your tail off. Choke up, shorten up, widen out, move closer to the plate — whatever helps you execute your two-strike approach. Some call it their “B swing.” Make the pitcher work. We preach “look fastball away and adjust,” but there are plenty of effective two-strike approaches. You have to experiment and find what fits your swing and mindset best. A quality two-strike approach often leads to hard-hit balls. But even when it doesn’t, the defense still has to field it, throw it, and catch it. That’s pressure. Maybe some coaches will chime in on this…. But... this is how I’m seeing it right now. I think you’re going to see more and more two way guys coming on the scene in college baseball. Here is why. The rosters are going down to 34 man rosters. You will be needing 2-4 guys who can eat up an inning or two and be able to produce in the field and at the plate. Those numbers may be even higher than that. Years ago when a college told you- you can two way, it typically meant we are brining you in, youll have a short leash and your most likely going to be a PO. Now it’s a legit thing. Schools will need much more versatility- If you can pitch and hit AND play multiple spots on the field. Your stock will rise this year and years beyond. You may win without it, and let skill and strategy shine, but it won't be sustainable The things that Jordan does extremely well that need to be highlighted are: - energy - communication - mid-rounding voice - emotional awareness - effort - mental resilience - ability to stay focused when the match matters High Performance is a combination of talent and skills for sure, but more importantly it's: - attitude - behaviours - consistency - mindset - focused attention - awareness of mental intensity - intention to improve - intention to execute As you continue to build your skills in game, be sure to elevate your High Performance skills overall. May be the most difficult hurdle for a wrestler... to clear—trusting that the same offense that built the lead is what protects it. The instinct is to protect the lead, but the approach that creates better odds, less regret, and is simply more logical is to keep wrestling the same way that created the lead. Stay on the attack, stay in position, and keep applying pressure. The one who needs to change and create opportunity is the opponent who is losing. So why would you go ahead and assist them in this by back peddling and lead protecting, opening up two windows that weren’t there before? 1 – Stall points 2 – Allowing your opponent to solely focus on their offense as they no longer have to respect your attacks. You hear wrestlers in post-match interviews “We do this all the time in the room! Down 2 with 30 seconds left and working to find a takedown.” Not so much the opposite… “up 2 with 30 seconds left and just have to find ways to back up to protect the lead!” So why resort to something you don’t practice in the most crucial moments of a match—or your season? It’s been a year since the company I helped... start shut down. It was one of those ideas that felt truly “net-positive” for the world, and truly helped people on a personal level. So, over this last year I worked on 2 things — searching for an idea that feels net-positive and something people could connect with on a deep, personal level. Lyrics: Daily Music Widget - an app that shows you song lyrics from your favorite artists, right on your home screen 2. one year - another app that shows how many days of growth you’ve had in a year Both of these apps had their ups and downs, but they made me realize some pretty cool things: - I want my apps to feel great to use - I want me apps to do one thing really well - I want my apps to feel like a human made them - and, I want my apps to always be made with other people So, two months ago I took those concepts, went to visit in SF, and started on an idea that I truly felt could change the way people live their daily lives. And, it’s launching today. This is Find Your Faith, an iPhone app that helps you discover a spiritual path that resonates with you, or helps you dive deeper into a faith you already practice. We started this as a way to help us with our own spiritual journeys. We wanted to explore different faiths in a way that was authentic to us. The beauty about spirituality is there is no deadline on when you should “figure out what you believe in” lol. It’s really something to check in on during the different seasons of your life. And, there isn’t just one way to do it. Some people may enjoy reading religious text, or others may prefer being in the presence of something greater than them. At the end of the day, these are just ways to give yourself the space to explore really tough questions and concepts. That’s what Find Your Faith (or fyf) does — helps you understand where you are on your journey, no matter where you may be, and gives you the space to sit in these questions every day.
