Update on LAT Aerospace Our first uSTOL technology demonstrator... is ready. Today, we have a fully-electric, fixed-wing UAV, built from scratch and almost ready for flight. To make this possible in just a few months, we built our entire flight lab from scratch. Every bench, every tool, every fixture designed to push the aircraft closer to flight every single day. This aircraft is designed to takeoff in 40 meters (thanks to a massive CL of 5 which is more than 2x of what you see on most aircraft). Endurance of 60 minutes. With a range of being able to cruise autonomously from Mumbai to Pune. Ground rolls done. As I type this, we are pushing hard to get the bird in the air. Hopefully it doesn't blow up. Either way, I promise videos of our attempt sometime over the next few weeks. We have learnt so much over the last few months, and I am sure that there are a lot of hard learnings yet in store for us. Our research on hybrid-electric propulsion is already in full swing, and we’ve also started building a team to begin development on our own gas turbine engines. Gather - work in progress what if your notes... app felt more like a physical notebook? you can have pages with your notes, your tasks, your thoughts, your inspiration and organize them in a way that is meaningful to you. each page is a little canvas. it might look a little bit like a gimmick, but once you try it, you might feel differently. when designing Gather, Ajay Sabs and i draw our inspiration more than anything from physical things. we’ve always wanted to try and re-create some of the feelings and romanticism we associate with physical notebooks, books and magazines. we’ve always felt there was something special about how pages have an order and how you’re mind creates visual and spatial connections depending on how things are organized - particularly things that you’ve written, revisit often or have a significance to you. the notebook view is an idea we’ve played with for a very long time. and its a lot more than just swiping between pages. this is just a little peek. we are also working on other views that are optimized for different use-cases and different modes of thinking. we’re excited to share some of those soon.show more

Here, with Workman on second, Zach McKinstry hits a fly to left that lands, and Workman is thrown out 7-5 at third base. This was ruled a single, and the question has been asked as to why. First, this is the correct scoring, as this is a single. If this were a ground ball to short, and the runner is out 6-5 at third on a ball that would have otherwise been a hit, this would have been a fielder's choice, and the difference is in the wording on rule 9.05(b)(3), which says that you do not score a hit when a: (3) pitcher, the catcher or any infielder handles a batted ball and puts out a preceding runner who is attempting to advance one base or to return to his original base, or would have put out such runner with ordinary effort except for a fielding error. The Official Scorer shall charge the batter with a time at bat but no hit; The key is in the McKinstry play, the ball is handled by an outfielder, and not the pitcher, catcher, or any infielder.
