Just wanted to provide an update. Earlier today, Emilia... finished her last chemo cycle and got to ring the bell. She is officially in remission. Her last two MRIs have come back clean. And we’ll now have to do an MRI every six months for the next five years. I’ve never been more proud of anything or anyone in my entire life. Emilia has been extremely strong and resilient, continuing to amaze us day after day. Thank you to everyone who has shown support throughout the last six months. My family and I truly appreciate it. We’re looking forward to moving on to a new chapter.show more

Back where it all started 🧡 16 years ago... as a freshman at FLORIDA, I walked into the @ESPNGainesville studios and asked if there were any jobs on the radio. Steve Russell (in the first pic) was kind enough to give me a shot. Today I got to sit next to him again to do what we did so many times while I was in college: talk ball. Years full of hard work, failure, a little success, smiles, tears and lots of lessons learned have gone by but one thing remains the same: I’m extremely grateful for the people who formed the foundation of my career and the place (FLORIDAJSchool) where it happened. What a joy it was to spend time with the future of our business today. You are all stars and I’m proud to call you fellow gators. Your eagerness, dedication and curiosity is a reminder of how lucky we are to talk about sports for a living. It was an honor to spend some time on the campus that built me.show more

What an exciting day at Wallops Island. The Antonov... AN-124 came in from the south this morning, touching down at NASA Wallops Flight Facility at around 10:10 AM. No photo does that aircraft justice — it has to be seen in person to truly appreciate the scale. It taxied to the end of the runway and was unloaded incredibly fast. By the time we packed up and went to grab lunch down the road, it was already back in the air. Total ground time: roughly two and a half hours. Rocket Lab moved fast today. Right after lunch we swung by the AIC — Rocket Lab's Assembly and Integration Complex — and sure enough, they were already loading the PAF (Payload Attach Fitting / Payload Adapter) into the gray building at the Neutron complex. The other containers offloaded from the AN-124 remain a mystery — we never did see where those went. Watching to see if Rocket Lab issues any media briefings soon. Also put together a short video from about 250 still photos taken during the landing this morning — excuse a little jitter, but it captures just how quickly things moved today. The EU just passed Chat Control today. Here's what... it is, what happened, and why 2.0 is the one that actually matters. What is Chat Control? a regulation that lets online platforms scan private messages for child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Framed as child protection. critics call it mass surveillance infrastructure because a system built to scan for one type of content can scan for anything. the timeline: → March 2026: EU Parliament voted to let Chat Control expire. 307-306. one vote. → April 3: the law expired. legal basis for scanning gone. → July 2: EU Council repackaged the same proposal and brought it back → July 7: Parliament fast-tracked it using a rarely-used emergency procedure 331 to 304 → July 9 (today): passed. extended to April 2028. the procedural trick: by using the second-reading procedure, the Council forced Parliament into an impossible position — to block it, they'd need 361 votes, an absolute majority of all MEPs, not just those present. timed for the last session before summer recess. the EU's own Legal Service had already said the proposal violates the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. didn't matter. what it actually scans: Instagram DMs, Discord, Snapchat, Xbox messaging, Gmail, iCloud Mail. End-to-end encrypted apps like Signal and WhatsApp are not directly affected; voluntary scanning can't work on messages platforms can't read. yet. YET: Chat Control 2.0, the permanent version, is still in negotiation. it would: → require mandatory scanning, not voluntary → target encrypted messages directly → allow detection orders without a court order or reasonable suspicion → include mandatory age verification across messaging platforms if 2.0 passes in its current form, end-to-end encryption in the EU is functionally over. the global implication: when the EU creates legal infrastructure for scanning private messages, authoritarian governments use it as a template. and any backdoor built for Brussels is technically a backdoor for anyone who can access the same system.show more

I got 5.37 seconds. I timed him with a stopwatch from his first step at the 50 until he reached the 10. What time did you get? I had to go back two years because Sanders only has one run in his 4 year college career over 40 yards on his ESPN stats page —and it was in this game when he played for FCS Jackson State vs. Southern in 2022. Six years ago today, the life I knew was... taken from me. The day started off ordinary. We had plans to go to the movies that day. But instead, I went to the office. Buried in spreadsheets, chasing perfection, trying to wrap up the quarter. While I was focused on emails and numbers, he was dying. Austin was being murdered. His life was stolen by someone else’s choice, someone else’s violence. And I had no idea my entire world was already breaking. I was eating ice cream with a coworker when the call came. I let out a sound I didn’t know I was capable of, a guttural scream that came from somewhere primal. I slid down a wall and collapsed to the ground. I hyperventilated for the first time in my life. And in that moment, I felt something inside me break. Something I’ve never been able to repair. I’ve carried survivor’s guilt ever since. The what ifs still haunt me. What if I hadn’t gone to the office? What if we had changed our plans? What if I could have somehow saved him? Six years. It is not just a marker of time. It is the weight of every moment lived without him, every fight I’ve carried on his behalf, and every breath I’ve taken when it felt impossible to breathe at all. Austin’s life mattered. What happened to him mattered. He was funny, loyal, full of love and plans for the future. He deserved so much more than what was done to him. You don’t walk away from something like this unchanged. Everything I’ve done to challenge a broken justice system has been in honor of him and for every person still fighting for the justice they deserve. I speak because silence would dishonor him. Because he deserves to be remembered with truth, with courage, and with relentless love.
