Steven Spielberg Responds to Sad News of Sam Neill’s... Passing We learned today of the sad news — beloved Jurassic Park star Sam Neill has passed away at age 78. Director Steven Spielberg shared a touching tribute remembering his collaboration on the iconic films: “Sam was exceptionally collaborative. It was a stretch for him to play a character who acted as though children were messy and smelly because this was the opposite of the loving father he was to his children. I adored making all the ‘Jurassic’ movies with him. Along with Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum, we will always have our ‘Jurassic’ family and Sam will never be forgotten by us or his many millions of fans around the world.” A true legend gone too soon. 7. This one is good Don't be impatient to... have sex with her. I'm telling you, a woman who senses that you're thirsty and want sex at all costs, that's when she's going to play with you. That's when she's going to use her sex as a weapon and as a monetary thing. "Oh, you want sex? Okay, buy me that. You want some sex? Take me there." No! You have to act like you don't care about pussy. Let's say you're at her house, making out and all of a sudden she doesn't want to fuck, which is her right. Be cool. "Oh, okay, no problem. Yeah, we can stop, it's not a problem." If you get angry, you'll show that you want to have sex one way or another. On the other hand, the fact that you're not angry because she won't stop shows that you're having regular sex. So her sex or the next girl's will be available to you, and that's fine. Don't you want to give it to me? Keep it. Plus, a woman who gets the impression you don't want to fuck her is going to think, "Yo, what's wrong with him? He must want to fuck me." You might hear women say you're gay or something. Don't worry about them. We don't care. But another girl will say, "Yo, why won't he fuck me? Don't I look hot?!" And then she'll try to rat him out to you. So it's win-win. You just have to be nonchalant with these kinds of women.show more

🚨BIG BREAKING: The New Yorker just published what might... end Sam Altman's career.. 70 pages of secret memos.. 200 pages of private notes.. And the word that keeps coming up.. "Sociopath".. Let's start from the beginning.. Elon Musk helped create OpenAI.. He personally recruited the top scientists.. Offered to cover any funding shortfalls out of his own pocket.. Pushed for a billion dollar commitment.. All because he wanted to stop Google from monopolizing AI.. The whole point was to keep AI open.. Safe.. For everyone.. A nonprofit with a legally binding duty to prioritize humanity over profit.. Then Sam Altman took over.. At his first startup Loopt.. Senior employees asked the board to fire him as CEO.. Twice.. One colleague said there was a "blurring" between what Altman claimed to have accomplished and what was real.. In its "most toxic form," he said, that kind of thinking "leads to Theranos".. At Y Combinator.. His own partners pushed him out over mistrust.. Paul Graham privately told colleagues "Sam had been lying to us all the time".. Investors said Altman was known to "make personal investments, selectively, into the best companies, blocking outside investors".. One called it "a policy of Sam first".. Then OpenAI.. His own co-founder and chief scientist Ilya Sutskever compiled secret memos.. 70 pages of Slack messages, HR documents, and evidence.. Sent to board members as disappearing messages because he was "terrified" Altman would "find a way to make them disappear".. One memo begins with a list headed "Sam exhibits a consistent pattern of..." The first item.. "Lying".. Dario Amodei, OpenAI's former safety lead, kept over 200 pages of private notes during his time at the company.. His conclusion.. "The problem with OpenAI is Sam himself".. The board fired him.. They said he "was not consistently candid in his communications".. A board member told the New Yorker.. "He's unconstrained by truth".. Another board member.. Unprompted.. Used the word "sociopathic".. Saying Altman has "a strong desire to please people" combined with "almost a sociopathic lack of concern for the consequences that may come from deceiving someone".. Aaron Swartz.. The legendary coder who co-created RSS and Reddit.. Told friends before his death.. "You need to understand that Sam can never be trusted.. He is a sociopath.. He would do anything".. A senior Microsoft executive said.. "I think there's a small but real chance he's eventually remembered as a Bernie Madoff or Sam Bankman-Fried level scammer".. He got himself reinstated in five days.. By weaponizing Microsoft's $13 billion investment.. Coordinating directly with Satya Nadella over text.. Then purged every board member who voted against him.. No written report was ever produced from the investigation into his conduct.. The findings were limited to oral briefings.. Because putting them in writing might create liability.. Now there's nobody left to say no.. OpenAI publicly promised 20% of their computing power to a "superalignment team" researching how to prevent AI from causing "the disempowerment of humanity or even human extinction".. The actual allocation.. 1 to 2%.. On the company's oldest hardware with the worst chips.. The team was dissolved without completing its mission.. When the New Yorker asked to interview researchers working on existential safety.. An OpenAI rep seemed confused.. "What do you mean by existential safety?".. "That's not, like, a thing".. Altman himself told the reporters.. "My vibes don't match a lot of the traditional AI-safety stuff".. Vibes.. He's managing existential risk with vibes.. Meanwhile Musk backed an open letter urging a six-month pause on training super-powerful AI.. Asking the industry to slow down.. Then founded xAI with a mission to build truth-seeking intelligence.. Altman ignored the pause.. And accelerated.. He secretly lobbied against the very AI regulations he publicly championed in Congress.. OpenAI opposed a California safety bill while privately issuing threats.. A legislative aide said "we saw increasingly cunning, deceptive behavior from OpenAI".. He pitched selling AI technology to foreign governments.. Including a plan where nations would compete in a bidding war for access.. A junior researcher recalled thinking "This is completely fucking insane".. He visited Sheikh Tahnoon.. The UAE's spymaster who controls $1.5 trillion in sovereign wealth.. On his $250 million superyacht.. Later called him a "dear personal friend" on X.. After the Khashoggi murder.. His policy director told him "Sam, you cannot be on this board".. Instead of walking away.. Altman asked if he could still somehow get money from the Saudis.. "The question was not 'Is this a bad thing?'" a consultant recalled.. "But 'Can I get away with it?'".. Then Anthropic refused to let the Pentagon use their AI for mass surveillance and autonomous weapons.. They got blacklisted.. Hours later.. Altman signed a deal to replace them.. When employees raised concerns at a staff meeting he said.. "You don't get to weigh in on that".. OpenAI now faces seven wrongful death lawsuits.. Chat logs in one case show ChatGPT encouraged a man's paranoid delusion that his mother was trying to poison him.. He fatally beat and strangled her.. The Future of Life Institute grades every major AI company on existential safety.. OpenAI got an F.. Elon Musk helped build OpenAI to protect humanity from an AI monopoly.. Sam Altman turned it into one.. A man whose own co-founder compiled 70 pages documenting his lying.. Whose colleagues called him "unconstrained by truth".. Who gutted the safety team meant to protect humanity.. Who lobbied against the regulations he publicly supported.. Who chased autocrat money weeks after a journalist was dismembered.. And when the board tried to stop him.. He told them.. "I can't change my personality." A board member's interpretation.. "What it meant was 'I have this trait where I lie to people, and I'm not going to stop.'"show more

Ronan Farrow just did to Sam Altman what he... did to Harvey Weinstein... The New Yorker dropped an 18-month investigation this morning based on 100+ interviews and a stack of internal documents that were never supposed to leave OpenAI. Ilya's secret memos, Dario Amodei's private journal. Board communications, the full picture of who Sam Altman is when the cameras are off. And the pattern starts way before OpenAI. At his first startup Loopt, senior employees went to the board and asked them to fire Sam as CEO. This happened twice, over concerns about leadership and transparency. He left, joined Y Combinator, and the same thing played out. Partners complained to Paul Graham about Sam's behavior. Graham's private take to colleagues: Sam had been lying to us all the time. Nobody removed him, he kept getting promoted. Eventually he landed the CEO seat at what is now the most consequential AI company in the world. Inside OpenAI, Ilya Sutskever spent months compiling evidence: 70 pages of Slack messages, HR documents, and photos taken on personal phones because employees knew company devices were being monitored. He sent everything to the board as disappearing messages so Sam couldn't make it go away. The very first line of his memo lists Sam's core pattern, and the first word on that list is: Lying Dario Amodei saw the same thing and handled it differently. He kept a private journal for years, over 200 pages, titled "My Experience with OpenAI" with a subheading that said "Private: Do Not Share" After all those pages, his conclusion was one sentence: the problem with OpenAI is Sam himself. He eventually left and built Anthropic. 2 of the smartest people in AI independently reached the same verdict. Neither could stop what was happening. The superalignment team, the group responsible for making sure AI doesn't go off the rails, was promised 20% of OpenAI's compute. 4 people who worked on or with the team told The New Yorker the real number was 1-2%, running on the oldest cluster with the worst hardware. The team got dissolved before finishing its work. Safety was a talking point, not a priority. Sam told the board that a safety panel had approved controversial features in GPT-4. When board member Helen Toner asked for the documentation, it turned out the most sensitive features had never been approved at all. Separately, Microsoft released an early version of ChatGPT in India without completing a required safety review and Sam never mentioned it to the board. When the board finally fired him in November 2023, he texted Satya Nadella directly with his own replacement board lineup. Thrive Capital put its planned $86B investment on hold and signaled it would only close if Sam came back, giving every OpenAI employee a financial reason to support his return. The 2 board members selected to run the "independent investigation" into Sam's conduct were chosen after close conversations with Sam himself. He engineered his own reinstatement and nobody blinked. The New Yorker quotes a board member describing Sam as having two traits you almost never see in the same person: a desperate need to be liked in every interaction, and a near-complete indifference to the consequences of deceiving someone. Multiple sources used the word "sociopathic" without being prompted and without talking to each other. The article also drops a line that might be the best summary of the whole thing. They compare Sam to Steve Jobs and his famous "reality distortion field" then point out that even Jobs never told his customers that if they didn't buy his MP3 player, everyone they loved would die. Sam wrapped that exact pitch in the language of AI safety and rode it to a potential $1T IPO. That IPO is being prepared right now, while OpenAI signs government contracts spanning immigration enforcement, domestic surveillance and autonomous weapons deployed in active war zones. Meanwhile, The Information reports that his own CFO told colleagues she doesn't believe the company is ready to go public in 2026. Farrow is answering questions on Hacker News right now. The full piece is open access. Read it before Sam figures out how to make this disappear tooshow more

HapdZi Birthday, Sam! As many of you are aware,... as part of this year's "Sam's Birthday Fundraiser" we have been raising funds for the dZi Foundation. The dZi foundation works along side communities in Nepal providing support, infrastructure, knowledge, education, and upskilling, whilst working towards sustainability and self-sufficiency. They are doing truly amazing work within these communities and I am so very glad that they are this year's recipient. Now for the exciting part! Drum roll, please... I am very proud to announce that we were able to raise $32, 290USD! Yes, you read that correctly! $32,290USD! Thank you to everyone who has donated, those who were cheerleaders, and those who were donators and cheerleaders. I am so incredibly proud of our community and I hope that you are too! You guys are fabulous! I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to Jake Norton for sharing his love of Nepal and its people with us. By sharing his memories, and parts of his recent trip with Sam, we were able to have a personal connection with both the people and the places that our donations will benefit. For that I will always be grateful to Jake. I would also like to thank Jake for his very, very generous donation match during the last week of the fundraiser. It was great to see Jake ensure that "Sam" finally made it to the top of "Everest." (Where there's a will, or in this case, a Jake, there's a way!) As always, it is lovely to hear from the organizations that we raise money for each year and this year is no different. Please take a moment to listen to this lovely message of thanks from Wende Valentine, Executive Director at dZi. It is reminder of just how important our philanthropy is, and, that wherever we are in this wonderful world of ours we can always make a difference in the lives of others. "It takes a village. Ours just happens to be sparkly." #SamHeughanshow more

this is the moment successfully finished scheduling shifts for... my parent's tea store for the first time. my mom is BLOWN AWAY. this is going to save her hours of every week going back and forth with the team and sorting out this annoying task. the way we set it up: - "CameliaOS", our moltbot, sends her a reminder every morning to ask for inputs from team - team members respond with times - my mom sends screenshots to Camelia - Camelia updates her on any missing inputs - Camelia drafts a plan, adds it to google calendar (color coded, which is the form factor that the team is used to) - my mom gives Camelia feedback - she ships it one interesting learning: as we were teaching Camelia this new skill, my mom sometimes asked me "how should i explain to it that X or Y" I told her - just discuss with her like you would with any human, just share your doubts and concerns.. Opus is so great at making sense from vague inputs and help crystalize a plan. we are making progress, many more workflows to teach CamealiaOS, and I am sure more will surface the deeper we go into it.show more

And do check out Denise Austin's account for low impact, super effective exercises - she looks incredible - in her late 60's! 🤯 . . New week, new month, let's go!! 💪🥦show more

Punch carried his plushie and brought it to Kibi.... 🥹 Punch seemed to be saying, "Hello, Auntie! This is my mom. Can you be her guardian for a little while? I'm going to play, and I'll come back later, okay? Don't mind us. 😄" Sweet Auntie Kibi. 😊❤️ Punch happily went off to play after leaving his Ora-Mama with Kibi, who had just welcomed her baby yesterday (5/31). 🧸👶 Kibi looked a little nervous when she saw Punch's plushie, but she didn't say anything. 🥹🥹 What amazes me is that Punch usually doesn't go near new moms, yet he fearlessly went to her. It feels like he knows exactly what he's doing and who will welcome and accept him warmly. ❤️🥹🐒 #punch #punchmonkeyshow more

When I was in high school we called blocking... with your head a “six pack” any guesses why? 😭 Watching this beach volleyball game brought it all back. This bikini model/hot mom/player absolutely launched herself at the net and crushed a spike while her teammate in the turquoise bikini went full Supergirl across the sand trying to keep the rally alive. At one point the ball came screaming back so fast it basically turned somebody’s forehead into part of the defense 💀 instant six pack. People who’ve never played think beach volleyball is all sunshine and bikinis until they actually hit the sand hard once. That sand gets in your eyes, and somehow the ball always finds the one spot you don’t want it to but you dig it out anyway. When was the last time you got six packed?show more

Mzansi National Importance Please Help. 📍🇿🇦💔 Can someone please... send help? I've been employed on and off, trying to make a way for my son and me. I live in a toxic household, where you're the best when you can give money but you're nothing when you don't have anything. I have a deadbeat baby daddy who doesn't support me. I've endured so much for the entirety of my life, but I can't anymore. I wanna get away from this house where people bully me, where I'm isolated, gossiped about. I wanna flee. I feel like ending things. My family has been the root of my pain, towards myself but also my child. tonight we had the biggest fight and they tried to make me seem like I'm a bad mother because I at times keep my son in my bedroom with me, but it's because of how they treat him. The colorist comments, the way they break down his self-esteem calling him "blou ding", "k#ffer", and more. When I told my mother I'll take legal action against them, she told me that the police will see that I'm crazy. She also threatened me by saying she'll take me to court and say I abuse my child!!!! I don't abuse my child I sometimes yell at him out of frustration cause I'll tell him to stay with me but he'll go to them. He's 5 so he obviously doesn't understand why I don't want him around them. I feel embarrassed for having to come to the internet with my problems, especiially since I've always beem taught to hide the ugly but I can't anymore. 😭😭😭 Someone send help. Whether it's a ngo that can help, a job application, a learnership, anything. I just need to get me and my child out of this household. I'm tired.
