I recorded this THREE YEARS AGO today!!! I posted... this video hours before the “2020 COLLECTION” drop on NiftyGateway — a record breaking sale that caught the interest of Christie’s and helped set up that historic auction three months later… It was clear to me at that time that people were starting to look at digital art in a very different way and that this process is actually not new, but something that other mediums had also went though where they were first considered just “craft” and then finally “art”. Since then I have been fully blown away by the amount of progress in legitimizing digital art that has been made. The strength and depth of this community continues to amaze me and I am humbled and honored to be small part of it along side so many innovative and inspiring artists. 🙏🙏🙏 That being said we are still VERY, VERY early into this journey of digital art being appreciated and respected and we have so much work to do and areas to explore. Our world is getting more and more digital so I can’t wait to see where things go from here as new tools, techniques and possibilities for expression are literally being invented everyday!!!! tldr; KEEP FUCKING PUSHING. 💪❤️🙏show more

A Plea for Difficult Images (A small rant about... what I think art is today) Why does the contemporary art world embrace the ugly, the every day, the absurd, the nonsensical, and the visually and conceptually challenging? Why is that? You know this is the case because, 5 out 10 times, you come out of a contemporary art museum asking: What just happened!? What the f*** is this? Why is this art? Well, it is a long story, but let's start with something basic, like, pretty, beautiful images have been done ad infinitum up until the 20th century. Every pretty sunset, cityscape, landscape, still life, and portrait has been done before to perfection. You just need to open up a history of art book, and you will find hundreds of examples of pretty images. The challenge for artists after the invention of the photographic camera, which rendered things so perfectly, was to see other things. The challenge for artists today is to see the world differently: ugly, weird, absurd, unrecognizable. The artist´s mission suddenly became to ask questions and to think and represent differently: art is the place where we can have no certainty; where it is ok to make no sense and just present questions. Beautiful things still get made. Cute is still a thing in 21st-century art, But for completely different reasons. Beauty is not done for beauty's sake, but to challenge why we would, after thousands of years, still want to see beautiful images. Abstract art was once a f*** you to the establishment. But ever since the world tamed it, abstract art has become decorative at best. The last moment or revival of this form was called "Zombie Formalism" for it´s complacent visuals with "modernist and expressionistic styles,” which worked perfectly to please collectors interested in flipping works of art they did not understand from emerging artists who essentially crafted hundreds of generic images indistinguishable from one another. Contemporary art has moved into a space where artists tend to challenge art and beauty. They´ve become philosophers of the image, and in doing so, they have left many viewers perplexed and confused as to what exactly it is that they are witnessing or supposed to connect with. It seems that art today asks viewers and collectors to go on the same trip that the artist has gone through: understand thousands of years of art, read all the books that questioned why that was all made, and experiment with them in what can be considered art today. For those curious about art and collecting, they usually come to art with a blank slate and arrive at pretty pictures and, as many viewers for thousands of years, enjoy what they are looking at. The creators of those pretty pictures call themselves artists, and so it seems the system works. But when those pretty pictures escape the niche they are produced in and try to mingle with the contemporary art world, rarely do they become accepted, because, the museums, the informed collectors and the contemporary art market ask the questions of why pretty pictures again? Why today? How is this advancing our understanding of art? How is this commenting on all we know about art? What are these poster-looking, perfectly designed illustrations proposing to the art world that we have not considered before? And so those questions need to be answered for pretty images to be seen as art. And pretty is not only an aesthetic concept, but it is also about the intentions and the way the artist is capable of expressing his artistic intent. You can have “pretty intentions,” and that, too will be challenged. Simple themes, simple concepts without historical and conceptual rigor, are torn down and debunked because why do we need pretty artistic intentions anymore? Why do we need to see images based on explorations of color or form, self-portraits as an exploration of self, the line between reality and fiction, and the list goes on... These ideas have already been explored to the depths of their possibilities and those explorations became movement in the past. To go down that path again is a matter of practicing or studying to be an artist, but the contemporary art world rarely could see this as a proposal to move forward the world of art. So, you see, a plea for difficult images is a plea to be committed, respectful, thoughtful, and innovative. We cannot move forward, as in all practices that thrive on “the new,” without committing to understanding and challenging what came before. Science asks this of us, technology asks this, literature asks this, and cinema, too. We need pretty images, but they should only be a path to something way more profound. To do and understand art takes time, vulnerability, and a willingness to change… not everyone is willing to take that path. (Healed by Jess Mac)show more

Some thoughts on the MoMA The Museum of Modern... Art acquisition 🍎 Thank you to Paola Antonelli for being the best curator I could have worked with, someone with seemingly infinite curiosity and energy. Thank you to Reinier Feijen for always coding whatever I come up with, especially when I'm not sure what I want. Thank you to Neil Hutchinson 137 & Fellowship for supporting the acquisition. Thank you to Erick / Snowfro / 🦩 / LAO / #️⃣ / 🔴 for building a space for artists & infinite encouragement & enthusiasm. Thank you to Refik Anadol for having the guts & vision no other digital artist had before. This exhibition & acquisition are very special to me. Not just because MoMA is a Big Name, it's more than that... My works have always been in response to art history, to painterly ideas. I chose to explore those ideas in a new medium. This new medium has its own characteristics and formal possibilities, but it's in dialog with the past. Art is many things. I am interested in the intensification of perception. The opposite of distraction and noise. Museums exist to separate art from chaos. Starting out on the internet, I was perhaps always a bit pretentious, but I knew this work was not just "some shit I made", it's art, it has ambitions beyond the feed. A museum collection, and especially MoMA's, could be seen as a feed, as a timeline, but one that is very long term and deliberate. Museums will change, distributions will change, technology will change, but there is something in art that always finds it way into the new. Very grateful for this to happen and very grateful to be able to continue making my work every day. thank you! RR further reading: 👉show more

Tim Allen Loves the Ballet My old friend Tim... Allen stopped by the studio the other day for a quick chat that went on for two hours. I didn’t know what we were going to discuss, and neither did he. Which is probably why we touched on everything from the importance of philosophy, shop class, redemption, mothers, quantum physics, skilled labor, The Book of Job, Schrodinger’s cat, the surprising appeal of ballet, a sense of humor, and sense of irony, a sense of wonder, his time in jail, his new TV show on ABC, and the end of the world as we know it. Not exactly what you’d expect from America’s Dad, but precisely what you’d hope to hear from a genuinely curious cat who has been there and done that a hundred times over. Our whole conversation is here. It’s a good one. Here is a short clip featuring a story about his beloved mother, who resisted his best attempts to get her into a wheelchair with a level of determination not often associated with women in their mid-nineties.show more

For generative AI to become an interesting art tool,... we need much more control over the output. The slot-machine-like nature of pure text-to-image leaves too much to chance. Using the "Real-time Latent Consistency Model" that I'm using in the example here, is the first time I truly got a glimpse of a future where we'll be able to use our artistic skills and sensibility, to get control over AI image gen. Systems like these will never be able to match the quality or originality of a skilled artist, it won't surprise us in the same way an artist can. Things are a mess in terms of the training data these models are based on, and the questions about copyright concerns and about a time when everything will look the same are very valid. At some point capabilities like these will be embedded in photoshop, and anyone will be able to generate a pretty picture. But to create interesting designs, to tell original stories and to surprise us, we need creatives and artists with something on their mind. We'll be able to create immersive worlds, by making brush-strokes and sculpt marks, without needing to worry about all the dials, plugins, wires of our 3d and 2d tools today. I love to sculpt, I love to draw, and I love to explore new mediums and new ways to create. The Gen AI tools we have today are far from perfect, and things need to be steered in a better direction. For that we need artists to help point the way. Gen AI isn't going away.. it's too powerful and has the potential to allow us to tell stories like never before. Like all other big technological shifts, tech like this will come at a cost, but it will also open up new opportunities and empower a new generation of storytellers. I might be naive, but I believe that human ingenuity and creativity will persevere in this new world ♥️ #art #aishow more

The date was January 1, 1989. In Jhandapur, a... small village on the outskirts of Delhi, the winter chill was in the air as the capital celebrated the arrival of the New Year. Just 15 kilometers from the heart of Delhi, Jhandapur felt like a world apart. Responding to a call from the local workers, the theatre group Jan Natya Manch, led by Safdar Hashmi, had arrived to perform a street play. During the performance, Safdar was brutally attacked by government backed goons. He was struck 23 times on the head. He was only 34 years old. The assault took place on New Year's Day. On January 2, he was declared dead at the hospital. But the incident did not end there. A few days later, as the capital was hosting the International Film Festival at the Siri Fort Auditorium, Shabana Azmi was on stage. From a platform organised by the very same government, she chose to register her protest against the dastardly crime committed by goons of the ruling party. Asked which directors, in her view, had brought out the best in her, Shabana calmly took the microphone and said, "My views on my directors and the new wave can be reserved for another day. What is far more important right now is that we have been distributing some leaflets in the audience. I fear they may not have reached everyone. So I choose this occasion to read out our protest. Please bear with me." And then she took out a piece of paper and read it out publicly, openly critiquing the m€rder of Hashmi. Could something like this happen today? Is there even a single artist now with the spine to speak truth to power from such a platform against the very regime that hosts it? I doubt it. What was once possible and could be seen 35 years ago has come to a halt in this era of crude nationalism, where no one is willing to take a chance against the ruler.show more

It’s time. Introducing the Iris NFTs: Your gateway to... the Iris DAO ecosystem. Iris DAO is an art collective that connects minority artists and collectors. Join the allowlist now 👉 Our mission is to bring about a revolution in the issue of diversity. Currently, artists from various minority groups encounter barriers that hinder their full potential due to biases related to age, gender, race, and other factors. These limitations result in unequal opportunities for minority artists, creating a significant lack of diversity. • Only 15% of digital art sales are by women artists. • 85% of artworks displayed in American museums are created by white artists. Even our 17 yo founder @Mark_Teenage faced criticism and hardship solely based on his age. They judged Mark without acknowledging his skills. We focus on providing support to minority groups, offering new opportunities and platforms for self-expression. What are Iris NFTs? Iris NFT grants exclusive access to the Iris Ecosystem, uniting curated collectors and artists on a mission to champion diversity. In addition to membership to the Iris's artists and collectors community, Iris NFT holders gain access to unique experiences throughout the Iris Ecosystem. Our allowlist is now open, but spaces are limited. We are carefully selecting individuals who align with our mission and values. This NFT isn’t just an investment; it comes with voting power. We want owners who are genuinely committed to supporting minorities and fostering inclusivity. If you’re here for a quick profit, this isn’t the right opportunity for you. However, if you believe in our cause and want to make a positive impact, we encourage you to apply. Explore more about us on our brand new website. Finally, We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our partners, advisors, artists, and investors for being with us on this journey. A special thanks to our partner, manifold.xyz, for helping us deliver the best NFTs and support artists together. We also want to express our gratitude to our amazing partners: Forbes Web3, JJ, WAW, world of women, One Love Art DAO, and more partners that will be announced soon. Additionally, a huge shoutout to our incredible advisors: medved, Shannon Snow, and Mani. Lastly, thank you to all of our wonderful artist partners who are leading this space: Sara "Sparky" Baumann ⚡️, 𝓶𝓾𝓶𝓫𝓸𝓽, Andrea ✧, Rhi, Aoife O’Dwyer, Teresa Melvin, @Mireyita_art, Anastasia NFTart 💎 🫶 Thank you all for your support to achieve the diversity. In this tough bear market, we've been dedicated to building a platform that truly supports artists. We're not trying to ride any trends; we genuinely care about artists and are here to offer our support. We understand the market conditions are still challenging, but this initiative is about much more than money. If you are an artist, a collector, or even someone new to this space who wants to support minorities, this NFT is for you. We are using NFTs as a tool to address the issue of diversity in the space. We believe that the success of this project will provide new opportunities and platforms for minority artists in the Web3 space, fostering diversity and inclusivity. Thank you so much for reading through this. Even small support, like a repost, is incredibly meaningful to us and can make a big difference. Your support helps us reach more people and amplify the voices of minority artists. If you would like to be a part of this initiative, please sign up for the allowlist: We eagerly await your cooperation. Let's build a new future together.show more

President Xi’s New Year Address On New Year's Eve,... Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered his 2026 New Year message through China Media Group and the internet. The following is the full text of the message: Greetings to all! Year after year, life opens a fresh chapter. As the new year begins, I extend my best wishes to you from Beijing! The year 2025 marks the completion of China's 14th Five-Year Plan for economic and social development. Over the past five years, we have pressed ahead with enterprise and fortitude, and overcome many difficulties and challenges. We met the targets in the Plan and made solid advances on the new journey of Chinese modernization. Our economic output has crossed thresholds one after another, and it is expected to reach RMB 140 trillion yuan this year. Our economic strength, scientific and technological abilities, defense capabilities, and composite national strength all reached new heights. Clear waters and lush mountains have become a salient feature of our landscape. Our people enjoy a growing sense of gain, happiness and security. The past five years have been a truly remarkable journey, and our accomplishments have not come easily. Your unwavering hard work has made our nation thrive and prosper. I salute you all for your exceptional diligence and invaluable contributions. This year is full of indelible memories. We solemnly commemorated the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, and established the Taiwan Recovery Day. These grand national events were majestic and powerful, and the glory of victory will shine through the pages of history. They are inspiring all the sons and daughters of the Chinese nation to remember history, honor fallen heroes, cherish peace, and create a better future. They are rallying a mighty force for the great rejuvenation of our nation. We sought to energize high-quality development through innovation. We integrated science and technology deeply with industries, and made a stream of new innovations. Many large AI models have been competing in a race to the top, and breakthroughs have been achieved in the research and development of our own chips. All this has turned China into one of the economies with the fastest growing innovation capabilities. The Tianwen-2 probe began its star-chasing journey to explore asteroids and comets. Construction of the hydropower project at the lower reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River started. China's first aircraft carrier equipped with an electromagnetic catapult system was officially commissioned. Humanoid robots did kung fu kicks, and drones performed spectacular light shows. Inventions and innovations have boosted new quality productive forces and added colorful dimensions to our lives. We endeavored to nurture our spiritual home with cultural development. There was a surging public interest in cultural relics, museums, and intangible cultural heritage. A new Chinese cultural site was added to the World Heritage List. Cultural IPs such as Wukong and Nezha became global hits. The younger generation came to deem classic Chinese culture as the finest form of aesthetic expression. The cultural and tourism sectors thrived. The "super league" football games in our cities and villages attracted numerous fans. Ice and snow sports ignited people's passion for the winter season. Tradition is now embracing modernity, and the Chinese culture is shining in even greater splendor. We joined hands to build a better life and enjoyed it together. I attended celebrations in Xizang and Xinjiang. From the snow-covered plateau to both sides of the Tianshan Mountains, people of various ethnic groups are united as one, like seeds of a pomegranate sticking together. With white khatas and passionate singing and dancing, they expressed their love of the motherland and the happiness they enjoy. No issue of the people is too small; we care for every leaf and tend every branch in the garden of people's well-being. Over the past year, the rights and interests of the workforce in new forms of employment have been better protected, facilities have been upgraded to bring more convenience to the elderly, and each family with childcare needs has received a subsidy of RMB 300 yuan per month. When the happy hum of daily life fills every home, the big family of our nation will go from strength to strength. We continued to embrace the world with open arms. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Tianjin and the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women were very successful; and island-wide special customs operations were launched in the Hainan Free Trade Port. To better address climate change, China announced new Nationally Determined Contributions. After announcing the three global initiatives on development, security, and civilization, I put forward the Global Governance Initiative to promote a more just and equitable global governance system. The world today is undergoing both changes and turbulence, and some regions are still engulfed in war. China always stands on the right side of history, and is ready to work with all countries to advance world peace and development and build a community with a shared future for humanity. Not long ago, I attended the opening ceremony of the National Games, and I was glad to see Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao coming together in unity and acting in unison. We should unswervingly implement the policy of One Country, Two Systems, and support Hong Kong and Macao in better integrating into the overall development of our country and maintaining long-term prosperity and stability. We Chinese on both sides of the Taiwan Strait share a bond of blood and kinship. The reunification of our motherland, a trend of the times, is unstoppable! Only a strong Communist Party of China can make our country strong. We launched the study and education program on fully implementing the central Party leadership's eight-point decision on improving Party and government conduct. We exercised strict governance of the Party through credible measures, and promoted the Party's self-revolution to fight corruption and advance healthy governance. As a result, the conduct of our Party and government steadily improved. We must stay true to our original aspiration and founding mission, and pursue our goal with perseverance and dedication. We should continue to give a good answer to the question on how to maintain long-term governance put forth in a cave dwelling in Yan'an and prove ourselves worthy of the people's expectation in the new era. The year 2026 marks the beginning of the 15th Five-Year Plan. A successful venture should start with a good plan and with clear goals set. We should focus on our goals and tasks, boost confidence, and build momentum to press ahead. We should take solid steps to promote high-quality development, further deepen reform and opening up across the board, deliver prosperity for all, and write a new chapter in the story of China's miracle. The dream lofty, the journey long-bold strides will get us there. Let us charge ahead like horses with courage, vitality, and energy, fight for our dreams and our happiness, and turn our great vision into beautiful realities. The sun of the new year will soon rise. May our great motherland stand in magnificence! May the fields across the country deliver good harvest! May our nation bathe in the glory of the morning! May you all enjoy life to the fullest, and achieve every success! May all your dreams come true!show more

Westerners Flocking to Play Stunning New Chinese Video Game—and... Skipping ‘Spyware’ Warnings . CHINESE DESIGNERS JUST LAUNCHED another video game which is a hit worldwide. Where Winds Meet has some spectacular battle scenes on screen -- but the conflicts off-stage (west-east culture wars, psyops, business battles) are just as interesting. People in the game industry in the west are concerned—for several good reasons. Before we get there, take 20 seconds to check out the great-looking visuals, which come from the same studio that created Black Myth Wukong, a globally popular game launched in August 2024, based on the story of the Monkey King. Where Winds Meet also celebrates classic Chinese culture. It is set in the city of Kaifeng in 10th century China – and is filled with gorgeous images of that place. . CULTURAL DEPTH It has cultural depth, too. For example, everyone knows fireworks are an ancient Chinese art, but the game features molten metal spark showers, a popular art form pretty unknown outside China. In one scene you can see the flying apsaras, those Indian-influenced airborne women whose images adorn the ancient Dunhuang Caves on the silk road. Where Winds Meet is already among the favorites on Steam, the world’s biggest online game center. It includes many battles, of course. But there are related conflicts off line, in real life, too. . NUMBER ONE: CULTURE WARS. In many games released in the west, it is considered wrong to give players the choice of having a male or female character, because it implies there are just two sexes, which is a big no-no in the west. In Where the Winds Meet, players who opt for English language follow the western model, and are given the choice of Body Type I or Body Type II, no mention of forbidden words “male” and “female”. But players who opt for the Chinese version are given the choice of male or female. Trying to keep everyone happy! . NUMBER 2. HYBRID WARS, OR PSYOPS. From the moment the game came out, mysterious persons “revealed” that the game was made by Chinese people so it was a security threat, riddled with spyware. You can imagine them thinking that their gameplay information was being transmitted straight to Xi Jinping’s office! “Hmm. This incel sitting in a basement in his mother’s house prefers body type 2! Write that down, comrades.” But here’s the twist. Everybody ignored the warnings. By the end of the first day, people had played the game two million times, and that’s just the new version, the non-Chinese one. . NUMBER THREE: THE BUSINESS BATTLE The US groups which normally dominate the field, like Ubisoft, have repeatedly reported disappointing results recently. And some of the biggest recent hits have been from outside America. Black Myth Wukong was from China’s NetEase, Expedition 33 was from France, and this new game, Where Winds Meet, is also from NetEase. A popular video game reviewer called Hypnotic lamented the poor quality of games from the west—with the players blaming the designers and the designers blaming the players. “The east ends up releasing video games that end up blowing the doors down whenever they release,” he said. “And then you end up getting developers from the west that'll make up all kinds of excuses as to why these games are successful. They'll call it slop. They'll call it Chinese spyware. They'll call it whatever they want. But at the end of the day, at least somebody is trying to put out video games that players actually want, that isn't just indie developers.” . FIELD IS OPEN Now this does NOT mean that games from the east are uniformly taking over the global game industry. The west is still putting out some great games, with Expedition 33 being a good example. What it does mean is that China is catching up fast. We’ve seen this happening in many sectors. And as long as there’s a level playing field, it ultimately means that people get more choice. . A FAIRER, SAFER WORLD But more importantly than that, it gives people around the world a different image of China. The western mainstream media tends to create an image of China as an evil tech dystopia, sometimes literally describing it as a giant gulag. Games like this one show it to be community of creative people, producing fun products, and a place with a rich culture and an amazing history. The result, we hope, will be a fairer world – and a fairer world is a safer world.show more

Today, as I laid the foundation stone of Durga... Angan in New Town, I was overwhelmed with a sense of elation and fulfillment. In 2021, UNESCO honoured our beloved Durga Puja with the distinguished recognition of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, acknowledging its universal resonance as both a spiritual invocation and a cultural celebration. The ceremony reflected the true spirit of Bengal. People across faiths, castes, communities, cultures, and generations gathered in collective reverence. In this moment, I saw the essence of unity, devotion, and shared pride that defines our land. This day will be inscribed in the golden pages of Bengal’s history. Durga Angan will be built across 17.28 acres, with a total constructed area of nearly 2,00,000 square feet. The complex is envisioned as a yearlong sacred sanctuary, open 365 days, welcoming close to one lakh visitors every day. The central courtyard will accommodate 1,000 devotees at a time, allowing prayer to unfold in a shared spiritual congregation. A 20-foot-wide circumambulatory path will be adorned with 1,008 pillars and delicately sculpted arches. The main sanctum will rise to 54 metres, echoing the architectural grandeur of our spiritual texts. In adherence to sacred tenets, 108 divine idols and 64 lion sculptures will be consecrated within the complex. Beyond the principal mandap, the premises will include individual mandaps for the Singhadwara, the Pradakshina path, a sacred Kund, and shrines for Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha, Lord Kartikeya, Goddess Lakshmi, and Goddess Saraswati. There will also be a dedicated space for prasad preparation and a cultural museum celebrating Bengal’s artistic and spiritual legacy. The entire temple complex will be landscaped with over 300 trees and 1,000 flowering plants. Designed as a gold-certified green building, the complex emphasises natural illumination, ventilation, and ecological balance, ensuring that divinity and nature breathe within the same sacred enclosure. A trust has been formed under the leadership of the Chief Secretary to oversee the upkeep, preservation, and management of this spiritual precinct. This initiative will not only enrich our cultural and spiritual expanse but also strengthen local enterprise, foster employment, and amplify Bengal’s stature on the world tourism map. Durga Angan will stand as a luminous confluence of Bengal’s spirituality and culture, a testament to unity in diversity that will welcome millions from India and across the world, inviting them to witness our art, heritage, devotion, and harmony. On the 5th of next month, I shall lay the foundation stone of the much-awaited Gangasagar Setu, and in the second week of next month, the foundation stone of the Mahakal Temple at Matigara, near Siliguri. These endeavours reaffirm our commitment to uplifting pilgrimage sites of every faith. We walk the path of unity, never division. I remain guided by the universal ideals of Sri Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, whose message of interfaith harmony lives at the core of Bengal’s soul. Every faith to me is sacred. Every community is equal. Humanity is the highest form of worship.show more

Suno's mission is to make it possible for everyone... to make music. We imagine a future where music is a bigger, more valuable, and more meaningful part of people's lives than it even is today. Technology enables a future where the whole world can explore, create, and be active participants in an art form most have only ever consumed. From professional musicians seeking inspiration to friends and family writing songs for each other, we are exploring new ways to create, listen to, and experience music. So far, more than 12 million people are engaging with music in new ways that wouldn't be possible without Suno. We see this as early but promising progress. Major record labels see this vision as a threat to their business. Each and every time there's been innovation in music — from the earliest forms of recorded music, to sampling, to drum machines, to remixing, MP3s, and streaming music — the record labels have attempted to limit progress. They have spent decades attempting to control the terms of how we create and enjoy music, and this time is no different. So, it is perhaps not a surprise that on June 24th, members of the Recording Industry Association of America, which represents the major record labels, filed a lawsuit against Suno, alleging that the data used in training our music generation technologies infringed on the copyrights of the major record labels that they represent. This lawsuit is fundamentally flawed on both the facts and the law, and is nothing more than yet another instance where they chose litigation over innovation. For starters, the major record labels clearly hold misconceptions about how our technology works. Suno helps people create music through a similar process to one humans have used forever: by learning styles, patterns, and forms (in essence, the "grammar" or music), and then inventing new music around them. The major record labels are trying to argue that neural networks are mere parrots — copying and repeating — when in reality model training looks a lot more like a kid learning to write new rock songs by listening religiously to rock music. Like that kid, Suno gets better the more our AI learns. We train our models on medium- and high-quality music we can find on the open internet — just as Google's Gemini, Microsoft's Copilot, Anthropic's Claude, OpenAI's ChatGPT, and even Apple's new Apple Intelligence train their models on the open internet. Much of the open internet indeed contains copyrighted materials, and some of it is owned by major record labels. But, just like the kid writing their own rock songs after listening to the genre — or a teacher or a journalist reviewing existing materials to draw new insights — learning is not infringing. It never has been, and it is not now. The timing of this lawsuit was somewhat surprising. When this lawsuit landed, Suno was, in fact, having productive discussions with a number of the RIAA's major record label members to find ways of expanding the pie for music together. We did so not because we had to, but because we believe that the music industry could help us lead this expansion of opportunity for everyone, rather than resisting it. Whether this lawsuit is the result of over-eager lawyers throwing their weight around, or a conscious strategy to gain leverage in our commercial discussions, we believe that this lawsuit is an unnecessary impediment to a larger and more valuable future for music. This is particularly the case because Suno is a new kind of musical instrument, one that enables a new kind of creative process for everyone and opens new business opportunities for the industry. Suno is designed for original music, and we prize originality, both in how we build our product and in how people use it. People who use Suno are using the product to create their own, original music. They are not trying to recreate an existing song that can be heard somewhere else on the internet for free. But, even if they were trying to copy existing music, we have myriad controls in place to encourage originality and prevent duplicative use cases. We do so more aggressively than any other company in the industry, including other startups. Some of our originality-guarding features include checking for and preventing copyrighted content in audio uploads, and disallowing artist-based descriptions in requests to generate music. Why do we work to encourage originality? We do this because it makes for a more fun and engaging experience to create entirely original compositions on Suno. We do it because we think it makes Suno incredibly valuable to be a place where new musical talent can shine. AI allows anyone to realize the songs in their head, regardless of the money, equipment, or connections that they have. The future is an explosion of new artists that are creating music in new ways, building fan bases, finding new reasons to smile, and getting famous. We hope that the major record labels realize that we can build a stronger foundation for the music industry of tomorrow, together. With or without them, we will continue pursuing our mission on behalf of the many millions of music fans already creating with Suno, and all those who will in the coming months. We are excited and humbled to support this next generation of musicians and the music they create. --- 🎥: shing86 jams with Sunoshow more

New episode on The Creative Genius of Rick Rubin... This episode contains a nonstop stream of ideas directly from Rick about how to make great work over a long period of time: (01:00) Just one habit, at the top of any field, can be enough to give an edge over the competition. Wooden considered every aspect of the game where an issue might arise, and trained his players for each one. Repeatedly. Until they became habits. The goal was immaculate performance. Wooden often said the only person you’re ever competing against is yourself. The rest is out of your control. This way of thinking applies to the creative life just as well. For both the artist and the athlete, the details matter, whether the players recognize their importance or not. Good habits create good art. The way we do anything is the way we do everything. Treat each choice you make, each action you take, each word you speak with skillful care. The goal is to live your life in the service of art. (08:41) Faith allows you to trust the direction without needing to understand it. (10:16) If you make the choice of reading classic literature every day for a year, rather than reading the news, by the end of that time period you’ll have a more honed sensitivity for recognizing greatness from the books than from the media. This applies to every choice we make. Not just with art, but with the friends we choose, the conversations we have, even the thoughts we reflect on. All of these aspects affect our ability to distinguish good from very good, very good from great. They help us determine what’s worthy of our time and attention. Because there’s an endless amount of data available to us and we have a limited bandwidth to conserve, we might consider carefully curating the quality of what we allow in. The objective is not to learn to mimic greatness, but to calibrate our internal meter for greatness. So we can better make the thousands of choices that might ultimately lead to our own great work. (14:25) We’re affected by our surroundings, and finding the best environment to create a clear channel is personal and to be tested. (27:57) Rules direct us to average behaviors. If we’re aiming to create works that are exceptional, most rules don’t apply. Average is nothing to aspire to. The goal is not to fit in. Communicate your singular perspective. (28:30) It’s a healthy practice to approach our work with as few accepted rules, starting points, and limitations as possible. Often the standards in our chosen medium are so ubiquitous, we take them for granted. They are invisible and unquestioned. (29:00) The world isn’t waiting for more of the same. The most innovative ideas come from those who master the rules to such a degree that they can see past them or from those who never learned them at all. (38:50) Fear of criticism. Attachment to a commercial result. Competing with past work. Time and resource constraints. The aspiration of wanting to change the world. And any story beyond “I want to make the best thing I can make, whatever it is” are all undermining forces in the quest for greatness. (42:32) To hone your craft is to honor creation. By practicing to improve, you are fulfilling your ultimate purpose on this planet. A lot more ideas in this episode including: The importance of developing a practice of paying attention, why impatience is an argument with reality, why you need to create space in your schedule to tap into ideas in from your subconscious, why you'll find what you're searching for by looking deeper, the reason it is important to carefully curate the quality of what we allow in: people, ideas, content, why rereading the same books again and again can help you find new ideas, how to find the environment that allows you to produce your best work —and how other artists have done so, several examples of the people that are the best in the world at what they do being full of self-doubt —and yet they do it anyways, why adversity is unavoidable, if you want to make great work for a long time you can’t self-sabotage, why the goal is to keep playing (Rubin has been playing for 40+ years), how you can overcome insecurities by naming them, how you can doubt your way to excellence, why distraction is not procrastination and why distraction can be a strategy in service of the work, why if you're aiming to create works that are exceptional most rules don’t apply, the importance of communicating your singular perspective, and why if there is one rule on creativity that’s unbreakable it’s that the need for patience is ever-present.show more

HYBE OFFICIAL, BIGHIT MUSIC, hitman, HYBE MERCH, Weverse, Weverse... Shop I am saddened and greatly disappointed at hearing the confirmation that HYBE has started to OPT-IN for DYNAMIC PRICING for concerts, which have started with the US concerts and will be considered for other regions from here on out. The music industry’s greed by not paying their artists fairly, thereby practically forcing their only means of earning an acceptable living and to putting food on the table to be away from their families, touring. Flipping this to the case of Bangtan. BTS ARMY has proven time and time again over this past decade that we understand that truly supporting our favourite artists means buying digital & physical copies, of their music - most of the time buying multiple copies of each version. And by continuing to stream their music. The only time we have the opportunity to see BTS in person, especially us I-ARMY, is during concert tours. Due to the lack of acknowledgement that there are other regions of the world outside of the USA, Japan & Korea who want to see BTS in person. Many of us choose to fly to the opposite side of the world, just to be able to attend these concerts. This means additional costs for flights, accommodation & expenses which is no small financial matter. On top of music-related expenditures, BTS ARMY also shows our enthusiastic support for other non-music-related merchandise. Let me list this for you to illustrate just how much SUPPORT we already show. I’m ONLY listing from 2022 onwards: · Annual renewal of ARMY membership · ARMY membership Merch Kit’s shipping costs · Artist-Made Collection: > Jin Good Day PJs > Jin Bad Day PJs > Jin Pillows > RM Jogger – Black > RM Jogger – Grey > RM wind chime > SUGA compendium > SUGA necklace > Hobi Pots > Hobi Side by Side Bag > Jimin earrings > Jimin Hoodie > V brooch sets > V Mute Boston Bag > JK Hoody > JK Bluetooth mood lamp · Online concert live-streaming packages · Flights, accommodation & expenses for Permission to Dance Las Vegas concerts 4 dates · Permission to Dance Las Vegas concert-related merchandise · Permission to Dance Seoul concert-related merchandise · Permission to Dance Seoul concert Live Streaming packages 2 dates · Permission to Dance Seoul – Cinema LivePlay Special Event tickets · Deco Kit · Brand Collaboration merchandise · PROOF Collector’s Edition albums · Do you know Me? BTS Edition · SOWOOZOO Blu-ray, DVD & digital code packages · Festa-related merchandise · In The Seom – in-game related expenses · PROOF album-related merchandise · BTS Lyrics Inside · Jack In The Box non-music related merchandise · Memories of 2021 Blu-ray, DVD & digital code packages · 8 versions of the Photo-Folios · Annual Dalmajung collection · 2019 BTS LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF [THE FINAL] Blu-ray, DVD & digital code packages · Late release Vinyl of LOVE YOURSELF 承 'Her' (LP) · Flights, accommodation & expenses for BTS YET TO COME in Busan · BTS YET TO COME in Busan – Cinema Replay Special Event tickets · BTS PROOF exhibition tickets · BTS PROOF exhibition merchandise · HYBE Insight merchandise · The Astronaut non-music-related merchandise · Indigo non-music-related merchandise · Any/All BT21 related merchandise · BTS Travel Book · BTS 10th Anniversary Medal · TinyTan Dalmajung collection · j-hope IN THE BOX documentary · j-hope IN THE BOX documentary – “Free Gift” shipping · FACE non-music-related merchandise · D-Day non-music-related merchandise · D-Day concert city-specific related merchandise · SUGA: Road to D-DAY documentary · BTS Recipe Books & more – because I made this list from my confirmation emails alone. In the past, it has been expressed that concerts are the artist’s way to connect with their fans and for BTS & ARMY, at least, holding these concerts is also a way to show our gratitude for supporting one another. The company now choosing to opt-in for dynamic pricing is not in any way showing gratitude – rather it is a slap in the face of all the ARMY - who have thrown our already considerable financial support and as well as continued streaming efforts to back up our claims. I understand that the pandemic & now BTS’ enlistment is causing many issues for the planned revenue streams for the company. But how dare you be so bold-faced as to put your on-paper investors OVER your audience and MAIN CONSUMER BASE!?!? I suggest you rethink your plans for the remainder of 2023, the inevitable slowdown of 2024 & 2025 onwards, because choosing to show your gratitude to your main source of revenue, for our efforts, by slapping #BTSARMY with concert ticket price hikes of over 300% on average, is a fast way to discourage further spending. We are already fighting this war on 2 fronts by contending with ticketing scalpers & Ticketmaster's own greed - by #HYBE confirming that dynamic pricing is your choice "because you can" infuriates a fandom you should not be testing on this matter! DO BETTER. --- #HYBE_REPORT #HYBELABELS #BigHitshow more

JUST ONE DAY after the tragic National Guardsmen shooting,... RADICAL GROUPS in Dearborn, Michigan, is already calling for a REVOLUTION in AMERICA. If you live in America and are NOT here to contribute in a positive way and live in harmony with Western civilization, you need to GTFO. We have enough problems here as it is and do NOT need a whole new group of people, with a whole new group of problems who want to change America into where they just fled from. You must understand that this entire situation, to flood the U.S. and other countries were entirely engineered to destroy and take over multiple countries. Look at the U.K... Completely occupied and no 2A. The U.S. will fall if we don't end thIs NOW. There are also multiple players, groups, agencies, organizations, etc., who are all involved, and George Soros is one of them who has helped millions of refugees enter countries to collapse their societies, even mastercard teamed up with Soros who has spent BILLIONS aiding migrants into America and Europe. George Soros is linked through the World Relief organization and the Evangelical Churches through USAID and other NGOs like his Open Society Foundation. The National Guardsmen shooter was brought in by the Biden administration and settled from Afghanistan to Washington State by an NGO linked through Soros. Since he did have intelligence ties to the CIA, there is no confirmation yet that this was an inside job or could have been connected to radicalism. Either way, it doesn't matter. Because if he wasn't here, this would have never happened. The terror attacks on the guardsmen yesterday are a perfect example of the outcome of what aiding these foreigners who do NOT mix with Western values, ideas, and ways of life. They want to take over and destroy us because their religion says so. There is nothing wrong with good people from foreign countries going through the proper procedures to become a U.S. citizen and contribute in a positive manner and aren't here to murder, rape, steal, or start revolutions. We have enough to worry about within our own country and our own people, and we don't need others who don't want to adapt to Western civilization. They want to destroy it. Ladies and gentlemen, it is time to call your representatives and demand that they send ALL of them back before it's too late.show more

🚨 Community Movement Builders leader calls for a “Domestic... Front of Resistance” against the United States, rejects the civil-rights framework, and calls for “Wartime" against the goverment On a call featuring Kamau Franklin (Community Movement Builders), Erica Caines (Black Alliance for Peace), and Laurick Ingram (Black Men Build), Franklin delivered some of the most openly revolutionary rhetoric you’ll hear from figures routinely treated as respectable “movement leaders.” This wasn’t about reform, voting rights, or policy advocacy. It was a declaration that America is an “empire,” that politics is now wartime, and that activists should build “community self-defense” infrastructure to confront the state—because weakening the U.S. at home, in his view, helps revolutionary causes abroad. On opening a domestic front against the “empire” “Part of our work is to open up a domestic front of resistance… Because if the empire is busy battling here, it can’t do as much over there.” On replacing civil-rights posture with confrontation “We’re dealing with an empire, we’re dealing with wartime. This is not a time of know your rights. This is a time of community self-defense, of organizing our community to block these folks out so they can’t do as much harm as they’ve done to us in the past.” On mirroring wartime logic inside the movement “They understand it’s wartime, so our movement should reflect that as well.” On rejecting allegiance to the United States “Our connection… is not to America. It is to the oppressed masses all around the world.” On Sending Arms to Venezuela and Gaza “To the point of us being internally colonized, we have no political power. So when we talk about how much we can do for Gaza or how much we can do for Venezuela. We can’t send nobody no arms. But the least we can do is speak to our neighbor about the confusion that they’re watching on TV every day.” On pushing “militant” left politics (and blaming U.S. “propaganda” for holding it back) “…the propaganda of that state has remained so strong and blinding that in a lot of ways, it has impaired us from being able to put forth militant left radical ideas that are resonating with our people.” And the nostalgia for the Cold War-era “left bloc” “There are not a lot of socialist states… there’s no Soviet Union no more.” Franklin even laments that the USSR isn’t around anymore—either to bankroll the cause or to give them somewhere to run. That’s a pretty stunning thing to admit out loud. Then Laurick Ingram (Black Men Build) takes it even further—openly canonizing Assata Shakur as a “national hero” and lamenting that the country didn’t shut down in her honor. “Assata became an ancestor last year and that’s a national hero for us, right?... She should have parades, she should have a memorial… It should have been shut down everything, all over the U.S. when she passed, and it wasn’t.” What’s being laid out here is a rejection of the civil-rights tradition in favor of an insurrectionary framework: America cast as an “empire,” politics framed as war, “community self-defense” replacing constitutional rights, allegiance transferred from the United States to transnational revolutionary movements, and the glorification of a convicted cop-killer as a heroic symbol. And no, this isn’t metaphor or edgy venting. It’s a blueprint for parallel power and internal conflict, delivered on a platform shared by leaders from Community Movement Builders, Black Alliance for Peace, and Black Men Build—groups that routinely intersect with nonprofits, universities, and local political ecosystems.show more

My speech at the International Pro-Israel Summit The Center... in Budapest, Hungary (October 28, 2025): Ladies and gentlemen, it is an honor to be here today and to speak before you. But I have unfortunately not a very beautiful message. The 1930s are not only returning in a literal sense — they are coming back ideologically and culturally as well. In Belgium, where I come from, a famous writer can openly say that, and I quote, he wants to “drive a sharp knife through the throat of every Jew he meets” — and he remains unpunished. On our streets, Muslims can freely call to “burn the Jews”. Our Minister of Culture cancelled the Jewish-Israeli top conductor Lahav Shani. A mayor in Brussels has cancelled the metal band Disturbed, because its frontman, David Draiman, is Israeli. In Belgium, Israeli sports teams are not only unsafe, they are also unwanted — and so they are cancelled. Fortunately, the Israeli soccer team found refuge here, in Hungary — and that says it all, doesn't it? Jewish students hide their Jewish identity as much as possible. In my own city, Antwerp, people chant “Intifada” on the streets — calls for deadly jihadist terror. Jewish schoolchildren are bullied and terrorized by young Muslims, and a serial antisemite is writing everywhere in the city that “Jews are child murderers”. At some points, there were antisemitic incidents every single day in Antwerp. In Belgium, antisemitism is not only tolerated — it is continuously fueled by NGOs, academics, schools, journalists, and politicians. Across Western Europe, Jews are being intimidated, terrorized, harassed, spat upon, attacked, or even worse — murdered, as happened recently in Manchester. Synagogues are vandalized, Jewish schools and institutions need more and more heavy protection. Ladies and gentlemen, this did not start on October 7, 2023. Already in 2018, the French newspaper Le Parisien reported that 50,000 Jews had fled from the Paris region because of rising Islamic antisemitism. In the past two years, antisemitism has been normalized — like before, like in the thirties. Because of the war in Gaza, all the antisemites — from left to right, from Islam to Christianity — have crawled out of their nasty, pathetic little holes. As the German-Jewish writer Henry Broder once wrote, and I quote — he wrote it already many years ago: “Europe will never forgive the Jews for the Holocaust.” Think about these words. Antisemitism takes many forms, but I believe it is fundamentally rooted in jealousy — a deep envy of the Jewish people's success. Anti-Zionism, which denies only an independent state to the Jewish people, is antisemitism. Treating Israel as ‘the Jew among the nations’ — by systematically singling out and slandering the Jewish state — is antisemitism. That is why in the Belgian Parliament I often refer to the UN as ‘United Nazis’. By the way — aside from antisemitism, many cowardly mainstream journalists and politicians are also angry with Israel, and with Hungary, because these two nations have a strong sense of identity, and they refuse to be Islamized. You don’t need to be a Middle East expert, ladies and gentlemen, to understand that this is a battle between good and evil, between civilization and barbarism. Just open your eyes, look at the pro-Israel demonstrations and compare them with the pro-Palestine demonstrations on our streets. Ladies and gentlemen, in Western Europe, where I come from, it’s already five or ten minutes past midnight. Those who wear a Palestinian flag, an Arafat scarf, or an Islamic veil, those who are pro-Palestine or even calling for deadly jihadist terror, have nothing to fear. But those who wear an Israeli flag, a Star of David, or a kippah, and those who are pro-Israel, have to fear for their safety — and often, like I said, they are cancelled. Cancelled because it’s too unsafe due to the many jihadists and left-wing radicals — or because leftist mayors and globalist ministers behave like cowards or opportunistic antisemites. No wonder that today, I feel far more at home here in Hungary, and of course in Israel, than in Belgium or the Netherlands. Since October 7, 2023, the outcome of decades of leftist and globalist policies has never been clearer — it’s disastrous. The most virulent and widespread antisemitism comes from the various Muslim communities that have been imported the last decades. Winston Churchill — he was quoted before, not many people know this — called Mein Kampf “the new Koran” — and he knew. Islamo-Nazism, as I like to call it, has been imported widely in our streets from various Islamic countries, including the Palestinian territories. And it’s very simple: Those who import the Islamic world will become the Islamic world. If Islamization doesn't stop, Western Europe, the West, will become Judenrein — all Jews will be replaced by Muslims. And that is why I am ‘happy’ to be here and talk to you, and why I raise the issue of antisemitism every week in the Belgian Parliament and in the Antwerp City Council — and daily on my social media. Not only because I feel deeply connected to the Jewish people and the Jewish state, but because history teaches us that the Jews are the canary in the coal mine. If we fail to protect the Jewish community, if we fail to let the Jewish community thrive in our society, then we — Europe — and our Judeo-Christian civilization that I love with all my heart will perish. After Saturday comes Sunday: after the Jews, the Christians will be next. After Jerusalem, Rome will be conquered and Islamized. That is what the Muslim fundamentalists say and actively preach. They say this out loud — we'd better take them very seriously, and we cannot make the same mistake as in the 1930s. So I call on everyone to act now — because “Never Again is now.” I want to thank Hungary for standing so strongly with Israel, and for defending the Jewish community — and therefore for defending Europe and our Judeo-Christian civilization, our civilization that I desperately want to protect and save. And I want to thank you, ladies and gentlemen, for your kind attention. 👇show more
