#Syria: after a patient treated for cancer died in a Hospital in Azaz (N. #Aleppo), his relatives went on a rampage and broke/damaged critical equipment, incl. ICU ventilators. As a result, an elderly woman died of suffocation (shown by the arrow in the video) and the Hospital temporarily closed. Those who committed this insanity will now face accountability. The Interior Ministry has released the video of raids carried out by Intelligence Service and Security forces busting #ISIS cells in E. #Aleppo countryside. Acting on precise intelligence, they seized an arsenal containing 2 different kinds of IEDs: cooking pots packed with metal fragments - an unusual design intended to maximize casualties in terror attacks - & smaller devices prepared for targeted assassinations. A similar design was used in an attempted assassination of a military commander 2 weeks ago in Al-Rai: It remains unknown if the bomb maker was among those arrested - arguably the most important figure to be captured from these cells.

Out of the dark. For many, this scene may look trivial but for #Aleppo, it's a milestone in the reconstruction. After 14 years, public electricity is back in Sukari - a formerly Rebel-held district. Restoring the grid required months of work: - 30 transformers rehabilitated - 17 transformer enclosures built - 450 low voltage poles installed - 22+ km of cables laid. It was funded by last year's campaign to rebuild Aleppo.

The battle to break the siege on E. #Aleppo districts involved a wide array of Rebel groups gathered under 2 coalitions: Jaish Fateh, operating outside the city, and Fatah Halab, fighting from the besieged districts. It was the largest Rebel offensive of the war until the campaign that ultimately toppled Assad. Rebel planners calculated that the siege could be broken from the SW. side of the city through a bold move: capturing one of Aleppo's largest military sites: the Artillery Base - a location where Regime least expected an assault. Jaish Fateh led the first phase, which focused on taking the base's defensive belt on its Southern & Western flanks, mostly comprising fortified hills (tells), the Hakima School - struck by a twin SVBIED (see 0:20) - and the 1070 Apartment Project. After ~36 hours, all these sites were seized from pro-Assad forces. The second phase, lasting nearly 5 days, focused on storming the Artillery Base itself while Fatah Halab attacked, from the city, the nearby Ramoussah industrial district. Map:
