#bitchat
Last year, jack launched #Bitchat, a bluetooth p2p encrypted messaging app. Now, it's leading a revolution in Uganda 🇺🇬 I doubt Dorsey would have thought Bitchat could help Ugandans contest the 38-year presidency (dictatorship) of Yoweri Museveni. Here's why <1M people are using Bitchat ahead of the 2026 Uganda elections 👇 Bitchat allows people to communicate without relying on internet or mobile connectivity. Why does that matter? Because the Ugandan government has previously cut off internet access during the past two elections, limiting the spread of accurate information and communication during voting. Robert Baggs and I had a fascinating conversation with Ugandan Bitcoin advocate Brindon⚡, who has personally used Bitchat in recent months. As Mwiine explains, Bitchat will allow Ugandan's to continue communicating during the 2026 elections, even if the current administration limits internet and mobile usage. This is the reason why peer-to-peer, freedom tech like Bitchat, Bitcoin, Nostr and Signal matter. When governments actively surveil and censor, we still have an opt-out. Share widely. Uganda is using p2p tech in a revolutionary way in real time. Cc calle Paolo Ardoino 🤖 Giacomo Zucco (Bear Market Edition) Joe Nakamoto ⚡️ BOBI WINE
