“𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵𝘂𝗹, 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁." A mountaineering expedition to the formidable Mount Trishul (7,120 m) by the #CorpsOfEngineers was ceremonially flagged off at the Bengal Engineer Group & Centre, #Roorkee. Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, GOC-in-C #CentralCommand, along with Lt Gen Vikas Rohella, Engineer -in-Chief, Lt Gen SS Dahiya, Colonel Commandant, Bengal Sappers & Military Survey;, handed over the Expedition Flag to the Team Leader, marking the beginning of a demanding journey into the Garhwal Himalayas. The expedition team, comprising experienced Officers, JCOs and Other Ranks, has undergone rigorous acclimatisation, physical conditioning and specialised mountaineering training to negotiate extreme altitude, technical terrain and unpredictable Himalayan weather. Interacting with the team, the Army Commander commended their physical fitness, mental resilience and esprit de corps, highlighting how mountaineering sharpens leadership, endurance, discipline and calculated risk-taking, qualities vital for operational readiness in high-altitude terrain. Carrying forward the proud mountaineering legacy of the Sappers, the team now sets its sights on Trishul, where every step will test resolve and every height will demand courage.
