Getting ready for the US Men’s Final Qualifier meant making sure our #golfcourse #greens looked and played their best. That meant plugging out algae spots and weak areas that didn’t bounce back in time. This square plug method has been my go-to for the past 6 years—clean, sharp, and reliable. #turf #greenkeeper #golf

I had never used the hexagon plug method until last Thursday—and now I’m asking myself why I waited so long. Fewer gaps, tighter fit, and honestly…kinda satisfying. What do y’all think—stick with the square 🔲 or go full hex ⬡? Let me know what you prefer and why! #golfcourse #turf #greenkeeper #golf

Hey y'all 👋 I've been an assistant superintendent for nearly two years now, and if there’s one lesson I keep learning…it is the importance of constantly scouting your #golfcourse. You never know what you might find. This past Sunday, I found one of those surprises…#pythiumblight. If you’re unfamiliar, this is a #turf disease…it can spread fast, especially in the hot, humid, and wet conditions like we've been experiencing here #NorthCarolina. Pythium blight also tend to follow water trails. #Superintendent Brendan was able to treat the three affected greens within hours using #SubdueMAXX, a #fungicide designed to tackle this disease. For those curious about how to manage this disease: * Avoid mowing infected areas to prevent spreading the disease further. * Minimize watering and prevent water from pooling, as pythium loves moisture. * Early detection and treatment are critical—this disease can cause major damage if not addressed quickly. #greenskeeper #dukeuniversity #golf
