President #Trump, I can solve the problem with #Greenland. Adopt my Scottish Lamb Island as your 51st state and use it as a military base! Dock your navy and aircraft there - and if you get into a war with China, I will come to your rescue. Lamb is protected by mystical forces and you will succeed with its power. All Greenlanders can become citizens of Lamb, so Denmark does not need to worry. Donald J. Trump #LambIsland

Sweden’s Dep PM Ebba Busch tells me the crisis with the US re: #Greenland is not over: “We’re not out of the woods. And let’s be very clear. The last few weeks - apart from a very turbulent first year - have been very damaging for the relationship between the European Union, Europe as a whole, and the U.S.”

#BREAKING: Hayes: "Today Denmark, which controls #Greenland, did what was once unthinkable--protectively moving military assets onto the island in the event that Trump does to Greenland what Hitler did to Czechoslovakia and Austria, when he invaded and annexed them in 1938. That's the scenario that people around the world, governments around the world, particularly in Europe, are war-gaming. Will the U.S. do the kind of thing that Hitler did in 1938?"🤦♀️

Trump says he wants to take #Greenland. Let’s be very clear: Greenland is not for sale. It is part of the Kingdom of #Denmark, a NATO ally. At the same time, he claims he "doubts" NATO would defend the United States if it ever came to that. That’s rich, because the only time Article 5 has ever been invoked was for the US, after 9/11. And NATO did exactly what it promised: it went to war in #Afghanistan. Denmark was there. Not symbolically. Not half-heartedly. Denmark deployed about 9,500 troops to Afghanistan. 43 Danish soldiers were killed. For a country of about 5.8 million people, that is one of the highest per-capita casualty rates of the entire coalition, second only to the United States. They paid in blood when the US called. And now Donald J. Trump talks about taking territory from that same ally. Not because of "security", but because of resources, minerals and Arctic positioning. Let’s not pretend otherwise. The strategic excuses are just that: excuses. Denmark honored Article 5. Greenland is Danish territory. Threatening a #NATO ally’s sovereignty after they bled for you is not strength. It’s pure ingratitude. Documentary of the Danes in Afghanistan: Armadillo (2010)

This is our parody of "Piece of My Heart" by the amazing Erma Franklin. Our version addresses the current situation unfolding with #Trump and #Greenland, and has rude words - it's called "Piece of Denmark". In solidarity with all fellow Europeans facing tariffs and trauma. #25th
