#Modernism - Bob Hoskins saw the ugly and baron nature of the early redevelopment of #Londons docks. The language and tone he uses are exactly how I'd expect any rational #Londoner or, for that matter, a rational person to exude when observing and discussing the horrific nature of modernity. This video includes a few long-lost sights and many of the talking points if made for years. The north and south banks of the river were overcrowded with a whole lot of nothing whikst the life it once had simmered into extinction. Do not look at something that's clearly ugly and sell out by pretending it's not. Now, these regions feel more packed than ever, (though they're not) but with less life than ever before. Most celebrities or high-born individuals went with the flow and pretended the destruction of the Docks was a good thing. Bob, however, rises above the shallow nature of the average sellout. All hail real London, and the Bob's of this world. Remember that just because it's new doesn't mean it's better and that just because you fill something up doesn't mean it isn't empty. 🤝
