Actor-comedian #PepeHerrera said he is more than willing to collaborate with actress #NadineLustre—weeks after she expressed interest in working with him on a comedy project. Lustre previously told radar and other media that she has long wanted to star alongside Herrera, particularly in a “kanal” style of comedy. Herrera said the two already share connections outside of acting, including their involvement in the same music community and management circle. “Kilala natin iyan. Mga katribo 'yan si Nadine at si Chris, kasi parehas kaming vegan and same community kami,” Herrera said, referring to Lustre's partner, businessman Christophe Bariou. “Actually, tumambay na kami niyan, kasi parehas kami ng music producer na kabanda ko rin, si Isagani of Music Monks," he added. "I believe Nadine right now is focused sa kaniyang pag-finish ng album, and ako rin, with my band. Same music management. So, minsan, nagtatagpo kami doon.” Should the collaboration happen, Herrera said he already has a concept in mind: a project that would blend drama and comedy, while subtly highlighting causes important to both of them without being "preachy." Lustre previously shared that she considers Herrera one of the local actors she has always wanted to work with. She cited "Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap" and Ang Sampung Utos Kay Josh, which stars Herrera alongside Jerald Napoles, among her favorite films. Although she has built a reputation through dramatic roles, Lustre said she is eager to explore more comedy projects, particularly a more mainstream style of humor. “Si Kuya Pepe naman, I know him personally kasi may mga common friends din kami," she said. "I just really wanna work with him." Meanwhile, Herrera and Napoles reunite in Viva Films’ “Ang Pinakamasarap na Pares sa Balat ng Lupa," which opens in cinemas nationwide on Aug. 26.
