The seventh 777-9 takes flight with #TeamBoeing for the first time. Test teams will prepare this airplane to conduct Extended Operations (ETOPS) testing. 🕒 Seven's first flight lasted ~3 hours with most of it occurring over Washington, Idaho and Oregon. 🌎Next: ETOPS certification means airlines can choose faster, more fuel-efficient paths over oceans and remote areas because they can safely operate at distances from diversion airports. 📝 The 777-9 test fleet has logged over 4,800 flight test hours in total.

Our flight test team found everything is bigger in Texas, including the wind. #TeamBoeing navigated strong crosswinds in Midland, Texas, to validate the 737-10’s autoland system, designed to land the airplane safely in low visibility and challenging wind conditions. Flight test, engineering, meteorology and ground support teams spent months planning to execute these flights to gather needed data to establish operational limits for the airlines. Learn more about the test and how it is key to earning certification:

#TeamBoeing has taken innovation under its wing to chart a course from our original 737 factory in Renton, Washington, to our new "North Line" in Everett, Washington, ensuring every airplane can take flight. 📍 737 MAX wings start in Renton with assembly, sealing and painting. 📍 Once ready, they are transported by truck an hour north to Everett for systems installation. 📍 A new transport tool tilts the wings 37° with a hydraulic system — making them easier to carry on the highway. 📍 The first wings made the inaugural trip in June. Up next: On July 10, our employees will run a relay covering about 40 miles (64 km) from Renton to Everett, and a ribbon cutting will officially open the new line which will expand capacity to meet customer demand.
